OKC's BEST BURGER PLACE You can't get a better burger or corn dog. (We haven't tried their steak but but that's great too) Their onion rings are the best. The "Cattle Dog" corn dog - yes I made that up. Ask for a corndog with cheese and grilled onions and jalapeño peppers. Add mustard absolutely amazing. You're welcome! They need to highly consider making this a number 11 on their menu. read more

Good burgers, nice folks working here. Good old country western music playing. Hand the cheese burger (single) it was good, had onion rings you get 4 per order, we had chili fries they were ok, wife didn't care for the cheese sauce on them. Had a window seat watched a few homeless folks walking down the street arguing with their friend Casper Very little street parking, that will decide if I go back. read more

Someone asked online about a local place with the best burgers, Sun Cattle was listed. My daughter loves burgers so thought we'd head over and check them out. It's downtown, so parking is always a challenge. But on Sunday, there were open spots all around. Walk in the building and head to get in line where you place your order at the counter. All users are smash burger style with fried onion. Onions are good and thin slivers so the texture is good if you don't like to bite into a crunchy onion. I asked which were better, fries or tater crowns, was told they were basically the same, the pickles and onion rings are made in house. Decided on the onion rings. Glad we tried but they weren't my style. A very dense breaking and was not crispy. Mustard and ketchup is on the tables. Did also try the coney with cheese and chili. A good serving. Tastes like the bread may be homemade, if not, the cooking put some great flavor in them. They had self serve fountain drinks in styrofoam cups , which the ice was nugget ice! There were maybe 5-6 tables outside, for a nice day, a great place to sit. Inside was mostly booth seating and bar type seating, with stationary seats up against the wall counter. A very clean, restaurant in a cute trending area downtown. read more

Fried Bologna sandwich was delicious. With a side of fresh made onion rings and a lemonade it was the perfect lunch! Go early on Sunday and beat the crowd! read more

Great place for lunch. Had The Deluxe onion burger. Very delicious. I also tried the fried PB&J. It's an interesting dessert. I didn't think it would be great, but with the vanilla ice cream on top, it was really good. My only complaint was for a side of onion rings, I got 5 rings. read more

A neat little place, nestled in down OKC. From the time you hit the front door, the place is a great feel and vibe. Backlit murals on the walls....going with an old school Cattleman's look, that's in OKC. The prices to the place are very reasonable. The folks knock stuff out in quick-like fashion. Burgers: no mess around solid burger. Grilled onions. The beef patty scald. Solid. Onion rings: They may not look special....bit they're pretty good. Big. And plenty of them. Beware: The chili - I was absolutely (not) a fan at all. Took two bites....and I was done with it. The texture and flavor tones...darn was it crazy bad. But not matter the chili - I still like this little place. read more

Had the cheeseburger and onion rings. I feel like it would have been fantastic if it weren't soooo salty! I mean next time I'll ask them to hold the salt. But the Bathrooms were clean. read more

Cattle decor, home down country music on the background. The place is bright and clean. I see folks wiping down and cleaning tables as soon as patrons leave. We tried the Onion Fried Theta Burger, which was okay. The patty was very thin. and not sure I like that Theta sauce. The Side Salad was very basic but it was fresh. The Chocolate Malt was okay, very thick. The Tater Tots were so good though. But if they try to get you to get a second Sun Sauce, don't get it. You can always get it later if you indeed run out. We paid for an extra one and never even used it. read more

One of the BEST cheeseburgers I've had in a looooong time! I had the Deluxe Cheeseburger with all the veggies they had! Grilled onions and mushrooms, tomato and pickles cooked to perfection with a mile by the staff! The dining room was trimmed out in wester flair with country music playing at a level that you can still have a conversation. Give them a howdy!!! read more

It was ok! The meat could've been better seasoned. The onion rings were mediocre, it wasn't as crunchy as I expected! The whole place is nice but the food was just ok to us! read more

Good food and fast service. If you like fried meat this is the place. They even fry their steaks.

First time trying the food here. The staff was welcoming and friendly answered any questions I had. We went during the week around 2 pm and it was busy but not crowed. The quality of my meat is great. The burger was amazing! Highly recommend it! Affordable prices! read more

Sun Cattle has been on my list for a while now but since my boyfriend hates onions, it's been hard to find the right time to check it out, until today. Every now and then I crave a juicy, messy, cheesy, and always flavorful burger and Sun Cattle's burger was all of that! I ordered the double cheeseburger because I love protein. I felt like the price was very reasonable as well. My burger came out super fresh, hot and delicious! I wouldn't have changed a thing! I'm not a corn dog kind or girl but theirs looked good, maybe I'll have to try that one day. read more

Everything was delicious and the place was spotless clean very friendly staff We will be back soon

This place was so cute and fun. Parking wasn't a challenge because we came a little after the lunch rush. You order at the counter with the menu being right above your heads. The menu was simple straight to the point. When we ordered the staff was super friendly and very helpful. The food came out extremely quick and everything was super hot and fresh. The fries were super crispy and very lightly salted. The burgers are traditional Oklahoma onion burgers with the onions infused in the patty. In addition, the chocolate mall was also delicious. As a whole, we had a great experience and definitely will be back. read more

This is a fun local spot for a burger and a beer. Order at the counter and get your grease on. Their onion burgers are smash style, tasty and greasy. The 1/4 lb. cordon was delicious, as were the onion rings. My burger was good but not spectacular. read more

This place is overrated. Sloppy burger on a paper plate and fries for $15 not including drink. Bar area lacking and so did the service...

Went on a lunch time so very busy. Orders still don't take too long. We sat at end of counter to watch the cook and smell the good onions! I tried the theta burger but too much Mayo for my liking. I am a mustard girl and forget to HOLD the mayo. I perfer the big double patty hamburger. Patties are flat so I can manage still to eat it all. Cooked onions on all of them are the highlight! Cook scrapes the grill ever so often to clean the excess onions off. I wanted to say , nooo don't throw those out! He would laugh if I had asked for them. read more

Don't expect to be walking into a welcomed counter. Menu on the wal a bit difficult to read. Looking at the photos and menu it's amazing. We felt as if we had walked into a place that only a few select people were the only ones welcomed. I don't expect a red carpet treatment , however a hello welcome in or anything would have been a bit more welcoming. I was very excited about this place Ii've been planning on visiting for two weeks. I just didn't feel welcomed. I feel the person taking our order could have cared less about us being there. When we were done ordering we hadn't ordered drinks, looked like they had drink options, but we just ordered sodas. Would have been nice if they would have mentioned we had other options. A cocktail would have been a nice addition. I appreciated the number of employees working, maybe it's an after work hangout being downtown and lots of apt s close by. Food was good and potions were good size. I loved the idea of being an Oklahoma beef. I loved the ambiance and decor. Cross Canadian Ragweed, playing when we walked in. Great Oklahoma music. A bit rustic. With wood beams overhead with lighting fixtures that could be 1940-50's flare with bar stool counters and booths that had coat hangers on booths. Very old drug store Lunch counter feel. . read more

Delicious! And Fast! Service was great! Really enjoyed the onion rings will definitely be back!

The food was horrible. No flavor or seasoning or burnt or just overdone or underdone. The service was crappy, they didn't say hello but held up a finger for us to wait when there were three people working and one appeared to just be standing there staring off into space. read more

Way over priced! I had a single patty cheeseburger, an order of onion rings (4 to be exact) and a light beer. It was $32 after tip. And how are you supposed to tip before you actually get your meal and decide how the food is? Burger was ok, nothing special and the crust on the onion rings slid off when trying to eat it because the rings are cut way too thick. read more

The onion burger was ok. I ordered onion rings and only got 4 rings for $6.50 which is a joke and they weren't that good!!! The music was so loud I couldn't hear my husband sitting right across from me. The only thing going for this place is the decor. read more

Love this places concept and vibe. You walk in and basically walk right up to the counter to order and they call out your name when the foods ready. We got the Big Jack and a double cheeseburger + fries and a chocolate shake. I spent close $50 for something I can enjoy just as much as braums for less than half the price, but I digress. The Big Jack was okay. It was SO greasy. Like I couldn't even pick it up without it slipping out my hands and falling apart. I'll admit the burger meat was pretty good but I can't ignore how many napkins it took for me to eat it. The double cheeseburger was just sadness. Tiny bun with the tiniest patties. We were not very impressed with the shake either. Fries were fine. Fun place to sit and eat, but was just hoping for something a little better out of an onion burger. I'd come back to try some of their steak specials though. read more

If you like nothing seasoned, loud and obnoxious country music this is the place for you. The cook gave better service than the cashier/bartender. As we walked in he made the comment of oh here comes the dinner rush with my party of 6 coming to a 95% empty restaurant. Weren't greeted nicely and when went to order the guy acted like he was annoyed to take this large order. Cheese burger with fries extra crispy. What I get is a burnt smash burger with overly burnt and bitter onions making the burger very bitter to eat. There is mustard, mayo and ketchup on the table in squeeze bottles that have not been cleaned in a very long time. Both inside and out of the bottles were disgusting, had to squeeze the mustard so hard that it squirted side ways towards the wall instead of down. For how greasy the burgers and fries were I would love to have even a paper plate instead of just hamburger pouches. Have had a better burger and fries at Sonic. read more

Going during the lunch hour probably wasn't the smartest idea because it was super busy the the server was by himself, so service was a little slow. It was kind of confusing on how to order, but you stand in line, place your order, and then find your seat. Now, the food was delicious. This burger reminds me of a delicious home-cooked meal. Nothing flashy about the burger, just full of flavor and delicious. The tots were delicious and ordered extra crispy from my friend! The restaurant itself is large with lots of seating, inside and outside if you prefer outdoor dining. I will definitely go back again and maybe try something else on the menu. read more

Excellent greasy juicy cheeseburger. The best bun I've had on a burger. Good value for the money. Love a theta burger and theirs is top tier read more

I was on a work trip in Oklahoma City and decided to try this spot out since it was in walking distance to my hotel. I ordered the deluxe hamburger, it was good. It's basically a smashed patty on a bun. I wish the beef paddy was bigger, compared to the bun the meat was a bit on the thin side. The beef tasted fresh it doesn't seem like they use frozen meat so you can definitely taste the difference. It comes with shredded lettuce, grilled onions, and tomatoes. They give you pickles on the side. It was a good tasting burger. I also ordered a vanilla milkshake and it was delicious. I like the consistency of it! Location is nice, clean, bright. It has alot of seating area. I like the decor. The staff members were really nice and efficient. The only reason I gave this place a 4 stars instead of a 5 star rating was because the beef patty wasn't hardy for the amount of bun you get it should have been more meat. However, I will definitely come back when I'm in town on another work assignment. read more

The restaurant itself it's pretty neat and clean. You get a ranchy cowboy vibe when you walk in. Ordering is easy(order first and they'll call your name to pick up your order). Service is very friendly. Food is very very mid and I've never seen such a small burger in my life lol Corndog was ok. I think that was my fav out of everything we ate. Onion rings were good. We order the regular cheeseburger and theta burger. For 8$ theta. it's the most basic burger. It was soggy. Sonic and sparks def wins me over compared to sun cattle sadly! I also ordered the cheesy coney w slaw and the slaw was overwhelming. Everything was just soggy. This was my second time trying them to give another chance. The first time it didn't hit. The second time def didn't hit either. I'll stick w tuckers pls @.@ read more

Really solid hamburger cooked perfectly medium. Place is sort of small and really busy as we were leaving.

The burgers were great! The milkshake was good. The fried PB&J was not anything special.

I had one bad experience and one good experience at Sun Cattle. Two Sundays ago, my wife and I entered Sun Cattle at 3:41 p.m. The manager immediately told us that he would not serve us because it was too close to 4:00 p.m. We felt surprised, as it wasn't crowded and there were still 19 minutes until closing time. I told him that we had come all the way from Maryland, but he simply reiterated that he would not let us order food. So we left. We returned the next afternoon. It again wasn't crowded. We placed our order at the kiosk at 2:58 p.m., received our food at 3:03 p.m. and left at 3:16 p.m. Sun Cattle is a fast-casual restaurant with counter service; not allowing us to order food the previous day was ridiculous. As for the food, my wife's onion fried theta smashburger was excellent--perfectly balanced with juicy meat, a spongey bun and flavorful toppings. My Big Jack disappointed, however. The two patties with toppings overwhelmed the bun, sogging out the bottom. The hash brown added little flavor. We also had the densely crusted onion rings--they had good flavor, but were too firm. The bland house-made Sun Sauce underwhelmed and wasn't worth the extra 75 cents. Given the plethora of other smashburger options in OKC, I wouldn't return to Sun Cattle. read more

This place sucked. The food was bad and the counter dudes were not interested in being there. At least they were nice to each other. Our cheese burgers and grilled onions were super oily and you could only taste salty seasoning. The fries were soggy and dripping with oil. At least they were hot. Oh boy do they quickly turn that screen around for the tip. Buuuut, I get my own drinks, my own utensils, that I had to ask for, my own food, my own refills and I bus my table. What?? Boy bye. #PattyWagonForever!! read more

If I could rate a venue on fun-factor alone, this place would fair better. Sun Cattle Co. is next to the ultra-hip Flashback Retropub and it has an interesting and unique style. My daughter actually said "oh wow," as we entered and country music was playing. There are about a half-dozen cow heads taxidermied and mounted around the restaurant; giving you the feeling that what you're about to eat is watching you. The staff is friendly and helpful, and I was actually warned that I was getting an onion burger. When I said "that's why I'm here!" I got an approving nod. The food, however leaves much to be desired. Although the burger's bun was soft and amazingly fresh, it fell apart under the strain of being soaked in "sun sauce." It's basically a $10 Big Mac that has a hash brown instead of a middle bun. The chili (see photo) looked like something else the cows on the wall had manufactured and tasted nearly that bad. The fries were good and came in huge portions. At the end of the meal, I had used more than a dozen napkins, and finally surrendered to a fork and knife to finish my burger. The chili went almost untouched but the delicious fries were warm and crisp even at the end of the meal. I wouldn't recommend Sun Cattle Co. to an onion burger connoisseur, but it is interesting pub food if you've been craving McDonalds with an upscale venue. read more

I refused to visit for so long because the principle of eating off paper plates, but once I caved, I realized it's worth it. The burger is SO GOOD. Service is fast and friendly, and I like that you can see the grill. The onion rings batter was salty but yummy. The serving of fries is MASSIVE. I wish they served about half as much for half the price... I need an excuse to try the fried PBJ, fried pickles, and chili cheese fries. The whole restaurant is really cute and very western themed. There's street parking in the area, but I've only been for lunch, so I assume you would have to search for a bit or pay to get a parking spot for a weekend night. I would gladly take visiting friends and family here. Thank you! read more

I'm a fan! Love the western decor and the delicious diner style burgers and fries! If you're craving a good, fresh onion burger and some perfectly cooked fries, then Sun Cattle is your place to go!
