Looking for a local sports bar to watch the Ohio State Buckeyes #3 vs Texas Longhorns #1 college football game. We were hoping to find a place that wasn't packed with no direct view of the game. Sidelines Sports Eatery of Sylvania has many TVs available and fortunately for us, we were seated at a booth with TVs showing the Buckeyes vs Texas game in front and behind us. Yay! We ordered the Steak Bites and Apple Feta Chicken Salad. Steak Bites were perfectly prepared (ordered medium rare) and nicely seasoned. The Apple Feta Chicken Salad was delicious and chicken was plentiful. Our server was very attentive and quite knowledgeable of the menu selections. Even though most patrons were Buckeyes fans, the noise level was not loud by any means. The hamburgers were a 5 on a 1-10. They only made one and delivered it so when we got the second burger my husband was done his meal. 2nd they were mediocre at best. Something I wouldn't order again ever. Third and the KICKER... THEY WANTED TO CHARGE ME 21.00 A BURGER AND DID. IT was my birthday and I got one burger free so we thought oh well, better luck next time and dont worry about the mediocre meal, one was free anyways and then the bill came. I about lost my meal at that point. The server said I will take that off if you want ... I told here please that's crazy for a burger especially when one is free and 2 waters and my bill is still 30.00. She sent manager back which explained it was legit charge and she wouldn't do anything about it. I explained 2 burgers and 2 waters and one was free for my birthday and you are charging my 30.00 and that's alright??? I paid but would never ever go to this restaurant. Four of us stopped for dinner and were seated right away. Service was slow, only one waitress covering the floor. Ordered drinks after waitress finally came. When drinks came we immediately ordered our sandwich's. When order came of two Italian subs which were enjoyed. The Philly steak sandwich was sent back because of to much salt. I had to wait for a cheeseburger with bacon and onion. When my order came I was served a burger on a cold non grilled bun. Instead of a slice of onion I got two onion rings, not a slice two rings. One of the worst burgers I've had in a long time. The only good thing was our waitress was doing her best under the circumstances. She was polite and professional. read more

Tonight was a disaster, March 14, 2026, you were short-handed in the kitchen I guess. Over an hour for the pizza appetizer, followed by a later arrival of cold shrimp dinner for my husband, I never got my chicken tacos until I asked for the check and my dinner was presented in a carryout box. WE were at the bar because the dining room had no heat and we were wearing down coats. What couple eats 45-mins apart from one another? The bartender offered to comp us, but we didn't eat the cold food or take the carryout box. Other folks at the bar had no food and were waiting too. WE paid for the drinks, left a tip, the pizza was part of a Holiday promotion card where we bought Sidelines gift cards for friends. We did not pay for the cold shrimp or late tacos, the bartender was overwhelmed with complaints from the tables too, This was my first choice for my birthday dinner, but I went home and ate a cup of cottage cheese. No managers were present, you guys left your employees high and dry. This was a very busy night, you could have had a great, profitable night. Great service and even better food. They have THE BEST waffle fries. Our server was attentive without being to "hover-y" changed the channel when i asked and refilled our drinks at the perfect time. Make sure to get their garlic parm on their wings. So great. Would be back!! read more

The interior needs a face lift, specifically the bathrooms. Gross even for a bar - bad sewer smells, leaks, peeling paint, etc. The inside was freezing cold as if there is no heat. The food was not good or made as we ordered. Our drinks never got refilled. After the only chef working injured himself, we had requested to cancel the order and instead our server kept telling to hang on. We waited about 45 min for the food though we indicated we had only half hour to spare as we had other plans afterward. We have carried out twice in September. The first time, a salad was missing. The second time, the person who answered kept interrupting me, trying to second guess my choices, not really listening. We were missing bbq sauce, ranch dressing, and an order of fries. Two of the three chicken strips were black and burnt. They were out of the skinny crispy fries. Had a golf league meeting here with three other guys from our league. Started with some beers, two order of pretzel bites and fried pickle chips. The pretzel bites were better than your average bites and very good. I did not try the pickle chips. The guys ordered two salads, Ruben and a burger and they said it was all very good. Burger came with waffle fries and he enjoyed them, just not my thing though. Our waitress Emily did and outstanding job. She had a ton of tables and was quick with every table she had with a great personality. She is definitely an asset to this establishment. I love Lake Perch (Michigan Native who is living in CA...temporarily.) Tonight I really wanted a perch dinner. I was in the Toledo area so "Yelp helped." This sports bar is located in a strip mall of office buildings. A little different but the marquee sign is easily seen. Typical sports bar but with a really friendly vibe. There were even a couple of families there so you know at least on a Sunday night, it doesn't get too rowdy. LOTS of tv's. The perch was very good; the coleslaw was as well. The steak fries were a bit "limp." But I quickly got over the fact. Shout out to my waitress Cassidy. Although she apologized a bit for being new - I would have not known had she not told me.. Very friendly, quick, responsive, and efficient. Hope management treats her well and that she has a long-term job. However...then there's Josh - the "greeter" at the door. I was by myself and he tried REALLY hard to seat me at the bar. I don't drink. I'm here for the Perch remember? I politely told him no, I'd rather have a small table. With obvious disgust in his voice, he retorted: "Well. I guess I can find you something...." So he "put me in the corner." Thanks, Josh - all heart right there... I was afraid that you set the dining experience before I looked at a menu. But Cassidy saved you - don't expect her to share my tip. She earned 21%. I really enjoyed the atmosphere of Sidelines. However, it took over 10 minutes for our server to come to our table and greet us. We ordered fowl balls, they were pretty tasty, but it took about 45 minutes for our order to arrive, and the restaurant was not very busy. I am very considerate of the staffing shortage many restaurants are experiencing, but I also expect a timely meal. read more

Three strikes which saddens me because of the proximity to where we live. Hadn't gone back since my last review but are trying to support local and thought....one more try tonight. Went in early (when seated we were one of two tables.) within 5 minutes two other tables were seated...and drinks (from the bar) were delivered to them in short order. Our table? Still had not yet seen a waitress. We gave up. (Even the person who sat us was a little confused as to why when I spoke to her on our way out the door. She was super sweet so hats off to her!) Never been to Sidelines before, thought we would give it a shot. Initial impression is a well decorated sports bar/restaurant with a nicely stocked bar. No shortage of TV's everywhere you look. The food: absolutely blew me away. I had the grilled chicken sandwich with their homemade hot sauce and my wife had the chicken bite basket. Huge portions (loved the waffle fries) and the flavor was uniquely delicious. It was that good. The sauces were homemade and simply fantastic! The menu has an over abundance of choices, which is great for a family. Not just your basic bar food. Only suggestion to improve is a dedicated tap beer menu with descriptions of the IPA's instead of just a name. Yes, I obviously loved the place and will definitely go back. read more

Met some friends at Sidelines. All had a great meal. Our waitress was great. Very accommodating. Was spot on with refills, boxes and our bill. Ordered from the lunch menu and the meal was huge. Didn't expect it to be like that. Was nice to take half of my meal home. The restaurant was very clean and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves even though everyone was socially distanced. Stopped in for dinner last week. This was my first time there. It was a nice evening and there were several tables of people on the patio but we ate inside. The inside was roughly half full on a Thursday at 6:30. The atmosphere was casual but comfortable. The menu had a good sports bar selection. The mac and cheese sounded good so I ordered an entree that allowed me to get the macaroni as a side. The mac was good but not great. The entree, Monterey chicken, was very good. It was two chargrilled breasts that were seasoned to my liking. I ate one and took the second one home. It was just as good reheated the second day. I went there 10/08 (wed) evening along with sister and brother in law. I had the house burger, she had a steak, and he had the steak tips. The food itself was good. My burger tasted like a quality cut of beef and had a grilled flavor. Sis and Bro said their steaks were good too. The appetizer however was nachos. They had this rather nasty white cheese sauce on them instead of real cheese. It ruined the flavor of them. As for entrees, my bro had to ask for his "zip" sauce that was included, and he never did get his roll. Throughout the meal, our empty dishes were never taken away. I will give them another chance, as the main part of the meal was good. They are definitely very rough around the edges though. UPDATE: We returned on 12/07 evening. The chicken potstickers appetizer was very good. The sauce was tangy and flavorful. We all had burgers for dinner. They were all very good. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Place opened yesterday right where I live, have been looking forward to the food. Stopped in opening night ordered Steak tips hold the mushrooms, dish arrived with mushrooms with the onions sent it back, came back with what look like the same fries reheated (stupidest thing to do when you screw up an order) and no mushrooms. The tips were ok but the sauteed onions had not been mixed with the tips when they were heated as they were congealed and mushy. When you list sauteed onions people are expecting that flavor to be imparted in the meat. Fries were refried. They were fine I am just not a fan of batter dipped french fries but that is a personal preference. So, stopped by tonight, the second night they were open. Ordered the big catch fish sandwich "a generous serving of Alaskan pollock on a bun," Nope, got that perch fish sandwich on the oversized bun "three lightly battered perch fillets," pointed out to the waitress that it was perch. They were 2 inches wide very thin and 4 inches long, obviously from a small game fish, not the thick pollock serving advertised or expected. The manager came back and said it was pollock. the meager amount of fish was overpowered by the bun, had three bites and stopped eating. manager was smarmy and arrogant and lied about what the fish was. Don't know that I'll be back which is a shame literally 500 feet from my apartment. read more

Worst bacon cheese burger I ever had. In eatable. Meat was dry and overcooked. Bacon was one piece, torn in 3rds. Bun was right out of the refrigerator. No toasting at all. We have visited your establishment on several occasions, we opt to sit at the bar. The server with the blond hair (long, parted in the middle and pulled back) - I wish I got her name, is always genuinely happy to take our order, offer suggestions, mention the specials, and is the server every restaurant should hope to have. Having worked in restaurants for 30+ years, I can say from experience, when dining out with female companions, the general sentiment is "oh great, women, separate checks, no tip". Little do they know, the best customer is one who has "done the deed" of servitude. Count your blessings Sidelines, that you have her as front-line staff. One visit, we shared the appetizer of pretzel bites and hot pepper cheese balls. Good bar food, arrived hot and fast, and presented well. Our next visit, we opted for the cheesesteak and fowl balls. Our server happily substituted onion rings for the fries - the onion rings were hot, crispy, and not at all greasy. They were served with a sauce that complimented these circles of delight. The cheesesteak was authentic Philly style, with melty cheese sauce on top and a soft bun! YUMMMM! My dining companion thoroughly enjoyed the garlic-parm "balls", and even had enough to take home for a midnight snack. Exceptional customer service and great food! Thanks Sidelines! 'Ordered the perch dinner to go last night. It came served with a bunch of shredded lettuce under the fish & fries that made everything limp and unappetizing. Why the lettuce under it all is beyond me. The food sucks the moisture out of the lettuce. Not good! I complained about it being served that way when I ordered it in the restaurant a couple of months ago. Apparently, they decided it was still a good idea. Bad decision! The service was extremely slow! Over 45 min waiting for our food. This was our second time at trying this location to give them a chance and the service was again slower than necessary using the excuse that they had a party of 10 getting wings. Sidelines is a restaurant who should know how to handles any number of people at all tables! Stop with the excuses. We have not had this slow of service anywhere including Sidelines in Maumee! Went in a Monday and about 75% full. Service was quick and friendly. I had s burger and it was cooked properly. My son had a pizza and really liked it. They definitely didn't short pour my wife's drink. It's what I would expect from a neighborhood sports bar. Glad since it looks like the Village Inn may not be opening again. read more

I was so highly disappointed with this restaurant that I will never return. I will also warn others to steer clear of this place. I went here for lunch and was seated and an okay amount of time. I ordered fairly quickly and warned the waitress that I also had an order to go that would need put in in enough time to be ready for when I needed to leave. She assured me it would be totally fine but didn't want the order right then. I had french onion soup and a grilled cheese. My food came out and a decent amount of time with a little bit of wait. The waitress pretty much ignored me the rest of the time so I had to remind her that she had to put the order in for the food and told her to put it in now so be ready for what I was ready to leave. I got done eating but the to-go order still wasn't ready. I asked the waitress how much longer was going to be and she checked on it and told me that he was cutting the sandwich right then. I told her that I needed my bill and she said oh I'll go and get it right now and then immediately went to two other tables and helped them instead. Finally she brought my bill and again I asked about the food to go she assured me it should be right up. After paying I stood up put my coat on and stood by the bar waiting for the food to go. Again she went to check on it and told me this time which was 20 minutes after he only had to cut the sandwich that it was almost ready to go. In total for a to-go order while I was in the restaurant waiting took over 40 minutes to make. Finally I get the order go out to my vehicle and think I better check this because if they mess this up after I've waited 40 minutes I'm going to be pretty angry if I drive all the way back to work to find out something is wrong. Sure enough they didn't include the two sauces that I told them I needed on the side. So I go back into the restaurant to be ignored yet again by everyone there until finally someone helps me and gets me the sauces. You'd be better off going to a cheap fast food restaurant.
