I discovered this place 10+ years ago and have always thought it was wildly cool. Used to be, Sid was there, and he's super cool too. Past 3 visits, could not get any help. Completely discombobulated. Gave up on "help," just wanted to check out. Still 10 more minutes and had to beg. Clothes are great, vibe is great, store is a Sarlacc pit. I'm done. I'm not sure who this is for? Perhaps it's fun to preen around in cool clothes and ignore customers? I feel worse leaving than I did coming in. I've been here a few times and though I haven't done any shopping I visit the coffee shop and enjoy it. They carry Methodical from North Carolina and Kong's State from Florida. I'm usually a order a cappuccino but something about their blend guides me to order a latte when I visit. They use Blue Boy for their espre They also have pastries now though I haven't tried them yet. They now have Methodical's Belly Warmer as their espresso. 50% Costa Rica, 50% Guatemala. I didn't know that when I ordered a latte today. Next time I will definitely get a cappuccino. Christian is also behind the bar, a great addition to Sid. Perfection. read more

Lol, screw this place. I've always been a fan of this brand from social media. I'm in Atlanta for work, and this was on my short list of places I wanted to visit. I walked in fully prepared to drop $500 on a new pair of dress shoes. Upon entry, I was ignored. I asked a sales clerk for help in the shoe room and he said he could in "3 minutes" as he was helping someone check out. I waited 10 minutes in the shoe room without the associate or any other associate even checking on me. I'm not sure if it was my age, or the fact I was wearing a t-shirt and had tattoos, but this place is stuffy and I would look to spend your money at a more inclusive store. read more

I have loved this store since its early days and I still do but I wonder if as they have expanded their quality has started to suffer. On a recent trip to Djibouti I lost my original and order this as replacement. The first item came and fell apart within a week. This was the replacement to that the first one and it performed even worse. -See the photos documenting this. My advice to these guys is that growth is wonderful but quality cannot suffer in pursuit of growth. The staff including Randall have always been exemplars of professionalism and grace but this product is antithetical to the brand promise . I am hopeful the store will self-correct. read more

In store Santa Monica team was great and bought 2 sport coats, belt and a few shirts over the summer. I live in San Francisco and wanted to continue to purchase items. I was told that the only way to do that was online. The online team is very unhelpful and the opposite of what I would consider a good customer service team. I purchased 3 items all needing to be returned due to size. I am being charged a $10 fee which I am told is for restocking. I was never told of this fee before and was told I would get all my money and return shipment refunded. Obviously not the case. 5 Stars for SM Santa Monica and 3 Stars for SM Corporate and Online Customer Service. Updating my review. Laurel was great and refunded the $10 as well. Go Laurel. I just can't believe they manage to stay open with the lack of service that they have. Im in the store now and I've been waiting a second time for over 20 minutes for them to check on a refund for me for a shirt that I paid for but yet failed to come in the mail and the first visit was service nightmare. Apparently, this company is not in the business of making money. I entered the store on the coffee side, and I was totally ignored. I poked around for minutes looking at footwear and tea thinking possibly I'm being profiled. I was not profiled. A small older, general market crowd entered about 3 minutes behind me and, they too were ignored. There was no effort to even greet us all, no attempt to get help. The trio was deeply engaged in their conversation. I and one other looked at each other; we were puzzled that we're brushed off but clearly in need of service. My best guess is the coffee staff does not support other areas. However, I'm sure if leadership were aware shoppers were being blatantly ignored by the baristas they'd not accept it. What's just as puzzling is the sales associates didn't migrate to this busy side or aren't stationed on this side although the entrance is open, it's totally unattended unless you're receiving coffee. Management's other concern should be the ease of theft considering the severe lack of attention to this wing. I do find the shoes I saw to be nice, the design and detail of Carina Merlion Park embroidered wedges I'm eyeing is gorgeous but it's at the top of my budget. I'm returning to try them on and hopefully I'll have a better experience. read more

Sid Mashburn is my favorite men's clothing store. I really like the casual elegance of Sid's designs. Of course one pays substantially for this privilege - although tailoring is always included in the price. Sid's website and weekly emails provide lessons in dressing well for all occasions. I usually visit his Atlanta store where Randall is my favorite Sales associate. I just follow whatever Randall suggests. read more

Consistently bad customer service for a retailer trying to be known for offering concierge level experience. Never again.

Stuff looks great online but in reality is very hit or miss. Have had quality issues requiring near-immediate repairs to two items, both expensive. (A $1500 suit and $500 shoes.) They were very, very responsive and nice both times, but this should not happen. (I have a closet full of similarly-priced suits and shoes and have never had such basic issues with any of them.) Sizing is also completely unpredictable. I ordered pants one size up from my usual size, and the measured size was two sizes down from the tag. That's a delta of at least three full sizes! (I'm tall and thin and am familiar with slim clothes, so this is them, not me.) Even between two identical pants in different colors, the sizes varied significantly. Ties are incapable of tying a good knot. Scarves pill. Etc. I keep ordering after getting lured by clothes that look really cool and seem to fit a real need, but I think I'm done now. They have eliminated free returns, and given spotty quality and unpredictable or just insane sizing, it's just not worth the return shipping. The premise doesn't live up to the promise. SM should consider focusing on collaborations with manufacturers who know how to cut clothes and to deliver consistent quality so they can focus on what is their strong suit: styling, color selection, and design. read more

I have been shopping at Sid Mashburn since they opened years back. While I can't afford to buy all of my clothing here (I wish I could...), I have always felt treated as one of their best customers. The staff is probably the most helpful I've experienced when needed, but also relaxed enough to let me browse without the constant "what exactly are you looking for to rush you to a sale." Their prices are on the more expensive side but what you get for that price (tailoring included, lifetime alterations, excellent expertise) is worth it. They have even gone above and beyond a time or two to get product support from a brand they carry even though I did not buy that particular item from them. I can't say enough about their values and culture. I continue to refer newcomers to Atlanta to try them out, and have watched as they've grown as a company. It's truly a hometown gem. read more

There's an abundance of labels, exclusive lines, and avant garde stylings found in menswear today. If dressing well were simply a matter of brands and trends, a lot more people would be looking on point. The power of dress lies in form and cut, in flattering the individual frame. Any man, no matter his professed preference or aesthetic, will walk out of Sid Mashburn looking exponentially better than when he walked in. I mean, if he bought something; not just by walking in. It's not magic. I can appreciate a great suit but rarely find myself attracted to a man who wears one outside of funerals, weddings, and Vaudeville. I'm a bum. I date men who look like bums. I like dating men whom look like bums but who don slim suits and yellow hanky things and vintage combat boots when the mood strikes and the occasion arises. Slim suits and hanky things are readily available at Sid Mashburn. So are flattering jeans, patterned dress shirts, footwear, redesigned classic accessories, and all the accouterments for the modern man. The sales dudes have all been approachable, knowledgeable and friendly. My hesitation with fine men's clothiers [and suits, I guess] is the snobbery I have always associated with them -- crisp cuffs, stiff upper lips and all that. No longer. Thanks to Sid Mashburn's sales people and its beautiful selections, I have seen the light and am now concocting a billion dollar ponzi scheme in order to afford a couple more selections. read more

And i'm the guidance counselor and i need to see you in my office. Just kidding. (not really) Seriously, my first stop when I go shopping for my favorite man. You can go as far as you'd like when getting your grown-man on with impeccably tailored suits and serious coats. But you can also just summer-school it with a reasonably priced polo and some fetching socks. For all of the 'lady in the street, freak in the bed' feminine dichotomy that's foisted onto us girls from day one, Sid Mashburn helps me understand my own masculine projections. Totally outstanding. It's like 70% prep, 20% southern gentleman, 10% hipster. The clothes are cut trim and narrow, and the global sense of style is pervasive. This isn't the kind of store where you can buy "anything" you want; this is the kind of store that whittles down selections so they fit in the traditional category, but with a measure of edginess. Service is unmatched; all the guys, including Sid, are completely helpful, patient, and understand what each customer wants. The beauty of this store is that Morehouse freshman can come in and get a pair of tapered 501s, while at the same time a federal judge can get a bespoke suit. Sid Mashburn is half of the reason I visit Atlanta every few months; the other half is those people called "relatives." But I'm not sure which part of the reason I like more. read more

I love this store. I think Elizabeth recognizes me at this point - I come in all the time "just to look" when I am having a bad day at work or just want to enjoy the well-curated collection and the gorgeous space. Ann Mashburn isn't cheap - not a place to go pick up a tshirt on a whim - but it has gorgeous, well-made classics. I own two shirts from there - a Saint James Breton Stripe shirt and a Liberty-print quarter button down from Ann Mashburn's label - and they are two of my absolute favorite pieces of clothing. I wish they had a little bit more in terms of bottoms/skirts. They have some adorable Tucker blouses which I covet but which are decidedly not made for my body type. Overall, a great place for a classic dresser (and a great place to find slightly different business casual attire). After writing this review, I now want to rush over to Ann Mashburn. read more

This place has some great clothes and the selection when it comes to picking out a custom suit I can't recall getting so much value for my dollar. My only gripe is that when I come to the store I have to walk around for 10 minutes, about 4 times now, before I'm approached by a salesperson. The sales people are a little icy until they see that I'm serious about purchasing items and they warm up quickly. I am going to give them another shot at creating something for me but hopefully do not have a repeat of past performances. Side note: They offer beverages, but only after I am about to go into the fitting room and when I'm at the register. I love the store and style, just not a fan of some of the attitude. If it's your first time there let them know you're shopping to buy not just browsing. You should have a great time. Cheers! read more

I have been following SM for quite some time, and was fortunate to visit HQ this past week. As someone who entered with high expectations, I am delighted to say that these expectations were met. Tom - the individual who aided my visit - was nothing short of a gentleman. His guidance (and patience) afforded a lovely shopping experience that included old tales about SM, the apparel industry and menswear as a whole. Overall, the shop is without question the best I have seen (and I've seen a fair share...). Will be sure to return on a next trip, or whenever in a SM market! read more

Top notch personal service. Really great selection of simultaneously classic and contemporary men's clothing. (Think non-stodgy slacks, button down shirts, polo-style shirts, suits, dress shoes, etc. I even saw cowboy boots!) Tailoring is on-site and custom-made orders are available. What man doesn't need a custom made classic French cuff shirt in his closet? My husband was very happy to find this shop, needless to say. Ladies/applicable Gents, if you need your man looking sharp and classy, bring him here. Guys, if it's time for you to graduate from the Dockers khaki and brass button blue blazer, please make you way over here. It's taken me a while to write this review but I've got quite a story to share. My issue is not with the quality of the merchandise at Mashburn but with the terrible service I received after purchasing a $2k+ made-to-measure sport coat. The Mashburn crew came through Chicago last May on their city tour and I brought a close friend with me to check the goods. We each bought a number of items and were generally pleased at that point with the service and overall experience. LJ and their team told me my jacket would be ready for delivery in about 3 months and I was fine with that. The guys came back through town in late August and just when I was set to go meet them, LJ contacted me to tell me my jacket hadn't "landed" yet, which to me meant not delivered yet in Chicago I guess? I'm not in the apparel business, so I'm not familiar with that term. The agreement was they were to ship it to me when it was ready. A couple weeks passed- no jacket and no follow up from LJ. I reached out a couple times after that to find out the status and could not seem to get an answer. I finally called customer service in September (I'd already paid in full back in May and no sign of my sport coat). I spoke to a lovely woman who took my information and said she'd be back in touch. While she didn't contact me, LJ finally did and revealed that my jacket had never been made and it was because they ran out of the fabric I chose. As you can imagine, I expressed my frustration to him with the main issue being the lack of communication and also the fact that they had not shared this important detail prior to this point. I asked for a full refund, which LJ said he'd take care of that but he also offered to have another sport coat made for me at no charge to make up for everything. He confirmed my mailing address and tells me fabric swatches will be on their way shortly. I was skeptical at this point, but felt a bit better after the conversation and their offer to make it up to me. It took a couple weeks after that to receive the $2300 refund and I never did receive swatches or a follow up from LJ or anyone else at Mashburn. Regardless of the quality of the shirts I've bought at Sid Mashburn, I would not give them any more of my business or recommend them to my friends or family. The back-end experience I had was terrible. There are many quality clothing companies out there who do a much better job with customer service and who appreciate the value of their customers. read more

This is a great store with great employees. Made my first visit a month ago while in town on business and have been back several times since then. The choice of fabrics is fantastic for the shirts. Just wish they made them slimmer so that I could wear them off the rack without having to be altered. Of course you can get made to measure on these. Pant choices are excellent as well. Really like the canvas pants they offer. Was in today and and already regretting not trying on a pair of the Alfred Sargent brown suede shoes they carry. I have had people stop to ask me where I got my boots... tall, black velvet... perfection. The gals that work here are extraordinary!!!!!!!!!!! I had an event and live in Florida, I had help from the Georgetown and Atlanta locations. The dress is a beautiful, long rich green silk piece of art. I got shoes to match... pink silk with a small heel. Both associates texted and called about the event, before and after. Going into the store is a real treat. Exceptional customer service even from afar! I called the shop up today and requested to purchase one of their quite lux suiting garment bags and Nick who fielded my call certainly did not disappoint. I had recently acquired one of their suits second-hand in San Francisco and it unfortunately didn't come with a garment bag, so I thought I'd shoot a long shot and see if I could snag one from the source. The Atlanta team couldn't have been nicer of making this odd request a reality for me. The transaction was friendly, genuine, and definitely memorable for me since I'm sure they had a million other more important things going on during Christmas week at their shop. Outstanding shop! Always greeted warmly on entry. Usually they are spinning some classic albums for the background music. I had a problem with some boots that I'd purchased and they worked with the vendor to make it right. Matt called me to pick up my new boots a few weeks later. Haven't bought clothing here yet, but the offerings are truly fine. Price point is expensive but quality doesn't come cheap. read more

Service was excellent, and we were treated very well. Didn't buy anything but my husband was looking around for a new place to buy a few more suits. More geared towards trendy and casual than conservative and classic styles so wasn't for us so we left. And then on our way out, that's when I saw it. A large, real, shellacked, sea turtle on a table. This "decoration" made me so sad I still can't shake it. Not sure how it came to be in a store for decoration but it was incredibly depressing, and I hope never to see it again. What a sad, uninspired choice for your upscale men's store. I have been looking forward to my purchase of a Sid Mashburn suit for some time now, and the actual purchase MOSTLY met my expectations. To be honest the clothing and tailoring more than met my expectations. The house-branded suit, at under a grand for a really well-done Italian-made suit, is an exceptional value, and it is easy to see and feel the difference the first time you try on a jacket. The tailors are clearly masters of their craft. This is by far the most important factor for me. The store itself met expectations -- it was empty when I visited in very off-peak hours, but clearly well stocked with a more interesting variety of pieces than you can find in their online store. Sid himself was present, although tied up with other responsibilities when I came in. The sales staff is exceptionally knowledgable and ultimately quite helpful when you know what you're looking for. The only negative to me was feeling quite unwelcome when I walked in the door. I am young and was wearing less expensive clothing than Sid's sells, so maybe I did not appear to be a serious customer? Who knows, but whatever it was, it detracted from the experience and made me feel very awkward while shopping. I ultimately cut my visit short as a result, and made my non-suit purchases at other retailers that day. I'll revise my rating if this improves. Sid's is still four-stars for me because getting quality and value on a big purchase is much more important to me than feeling slighted or unwelcome. read more

Needed suit pants hemmed and normal seamstress is on vacation, so I came to Yelp to see what was nearby. SM was just around the corner. Never personally been, so I called and asked if they tailored outside clothing. The lady was exceptionally welcoming and "we absolutely tailor outside clothing - we look forward to seeing you." Great first impression. Walked in the store and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman who asked how he could help and offered water or beer. He paged a shorter gentleman who escorted me to the back. He asked if would be OK with return of May 24th, 22 days away. I let him know that seemed like a long period of time and my normal seamstress would be back in two weeks, and he let me know that "we prioritize those who buy clothes in our store" - understandable but not really relevant to highlight at this point, especially in a condescending manner. I have had been wearing professional tailored clothing for 15 years and have never encountered a wait time for simple pant leg hemming of more than two weeks. If you don't want outside clothing to be tailored in your store, don't advertise. My phone conversation could not have been more welcoming, but the in-store feel was just the opposite. As I walked out, walking by the two tailors not working on anything at all, another gentleman who witnesses the interaction asked "would you like an apple" and giggled with his staff. The business I work for has the same clientele that shop at this kind of establishment, and for this specific need we send guests to SM and Guffey's. Surely Sid Mashburn will be removed from our business Rolodex for the discerning guests who have clothing needs - 100% will now be sent to Guffey's. Get your team on the same page and offer consistent products and welcoming service. read more

Sid Mashburn is a gem in the city of Atlanta and the US for that matter. It is a very unique Men's store. When you enter you feel as though you are in an old gentlemans club and you are greeted by salespeople who offer you a drink and remember your name. Sid has a rich history in the business - starting his career with J Crew - he defined what we all know as the J Crew look today. The suits are top notch, slim cut, and all of the casual clothes have been individually selected, not your typical run of the mill men's shop. Its a Sid Mashburn look - a little preppy, hipster, and traditional all mixed together. Very unique shop and worth a visit while in Atlanta. read more

Classy, professional, well done. I had lost hope in women's fashion, but Ann Masburn just might be the clothing savior I have been searching for. Most of my past clothing experiences involved dismissing shirts obviously designed by men with the classic boob sneak peak offerings between buttons. Not the way I want to progress in this world. I stopped by Ann Mashburn's today by chance and ended up walking out with four shirts that I had only thought had existed in my dreams. FINALLY, a professional shirt with a great feminine touch and style minus the aforementioned boob shots has been finally delivered! My only suggestion is to boost up the shoe inventory. I selfishly need some high-heeled work shoes so I am not the shortest one in the office! I will be forever grateful (my knees will probably think otherwise). read more

Curated. Sid Mashburn isn't the store where you will find every option, just really excellent ones. I've been going to Sid's for several years now and consistently return as a satisfied customer. Most everything I've bought from there has quickly become my favorite of those items (shirt, belt, etc.) in my closet. I have yet to drop serious big bucks on a custom suit or something similar, but every time I visit I'm greeted and asked if I need anything to drink. If you've mostly shopped at some very respectable mass merchants (like me before I became a Sid's customer), then going to Sid's is a completely different experience and you may not immediately recognize some of the unique value offered. Just a sampling: 1. Extremely well made garments. You may not know what a full canvassed jacket is, or why stitch count is important in your shirt construction and you may not care. But I bet you do care that your nice clothes wear well and stay nice. And trust me, your salesman should know these things. When you've buying from Sid's, you're getting far better quality than you'll find at much higher price points at the mall. 2. Salesmen who know what could look good on you and what won't, and will tell you. 3. Lifetime alterations on Sid products. If you shed some pounds and need that waist taken in, or decide you'd like to take out the cuffs in those pants, just take them back. After losing 15 lbs or so, this has offering has made the real price of some of the pants I bought much lower than if I had needed to take them to another tailor. 4. As I opened, a curated selection. Part of the value is just in offering you the right choices and combinations. read more
