Each place we went was so carefully planned and curated. We visited wineries, vineyards and a sheep farm that makes cheese. With his help, we were able to visit every place we wanted to see as well as some smaller unknown, hidden gems. I decided to visit Florence first, mostly because there are no direct flights from NY to FLR and I wanted to get the longer/layover trip out of the way first. After a quick pit stop in AMS, I finally reached my destination in FLR. After landing, I could definitely see why there are no direct flights from the US (maybe?) here - FLR is a pretty small airport. Because our flight was short, we actually boarded and exited the plane on the tarmac and after a short bus ride were shuffled to baggage claim. Everything was really efficient - I didn't interact with many staff members but the bags came quickly. In terms of aesthetics, FLR seems kinda dated/tired - but if you can look past that it has all the amenities that make it a good airport. Clear signs, speedy service, and a rail just outside arrivals that leads you to the city center. Overall, nothing outstanding about FLR from my perspective but also nothing negative - it got me out of the plane and to my destination quickly which I all I can really ask for.
