My fiancé and I have never operated a Vespa before and we decided to walk into Florence Station rental at 5pm to book a Vespa for a few hours. Lucky for us, there was one Vespa available and we were able to use it despite the shop closing at 5:30pm! Yuri (I believe this is the owner's name) was very accommodating and generally just great to work with. His English is excellent since he has a wife and child living in Hawaii, he's also visited California (my home state) multiple times. Since it was our first time on a Vespa, he made sure to get us comfortable with using the vehicle by teaching my fiancé and riding with him around the block! His instructions were fantastic. Honestly, the streets of Florence are kind of scary to drive around in, especially during rush hour traffic. Yuri gave us a route and a map that we can follow and basic traffic instructions. Luckily, my fiancé is tall and was able to operate the Vespa smoothly. A tip from me is to book a Vespa early in the day (or online). This shop is popular and vehicles may not be available. The countryside is better to be traveled early in the day when there is still light out. The shop does close at 5:30pm so any rentals late in the day will be charged "sunset pricing" but keys can still be return after the shop closes via a special "key hole" in the gate.

We called the emergency number for a tow, they told us it'd be 20-25 mins before they arrive and they'd call. No one called, we waited in the cold for hours so we had to leave the car and get a taxi. We went to Europcar in the am and were treated very poorly. They stated we called the wrong number, but it was the number the guy circled on the book. They also stated we were to stay with the car all night and also that there was no record of us even calling but then said the tow company called us throughout the night yet called us liars for calling to get the tow. so we were told we had to stay all night in 30* Fahrenheit weather in a broke down car until someone could come in the morning. (No exaggeration) they told us we needed to taxi all the way back to the car for the two truck and then taxi back to them to trade a car. Why should someone pay all these taxi fees when it's their vehicle that doesn't work? We declined demanded a refund and they said no, it's not their problem. Keep in mind I paid full coverage for any breakdowns etc. Do not recommend at all. Rent from hertz or someone else to avoid this scam company. Side note. Guy stated new car no scratches but there was a dent on the door so they do try to put blame on you. Careful!

They share a garage with a handful of other agencies so check around for the best price and selection. I was able to get a great price online only a few days in advance. We found the place easily and there were about 3-4 parties ahead of us when we arrived. After waiting about 15 minutes, I was helped and the service was very friendly. There were no attempts to upsell. After getting the keys, we were told where the car was within the garage and walked across the street to get it. It was a nice Abarth Fiat 500. I circled it for damage and had a few things added on that wasn't noted. There was a 200km limit per day day so 600km for our 4 day rental. I was worried about this, but it ended up not being an issue. The return was tough as it was hard to navigate all the one-way streets to get back to the garage. I returned after hours so I parked it and dropped the keys off at the designated box and that was it!

We're both 29.5. There was no mention on your website of needing to be 30 years old and you were happy to take my money at the time so you can start to see where my frustration comes from. Instead of offering to help fix the situation, your employee told us that you had no more cars and that there was nothing that she could do and to essentially leave. We were then forced to go across the street and rent from another terrible business that made us miss appointments and tours by hours. You should be ashamed of yourselves. At the very least to protect future customers, you should make it clear on your website that you need to be 30yo to rent certain cars. Is there really a difference between 29.5 and 30 that you couldn't have made an exception for our honeymoon? What an embarrassing and horrible experience. The pick up was scheduled for 4:00pm on a Sunday. Upon arriving at the train station, we walked with our luggage over to the Enterprise location to pick up our car at exactly 4:00pm. They close at 1:00pm on Sunday, yet take reservations and charge you for them, and then confirm them. We were stuck in downtown Florence with our bags, stranded, thanks to this ridiculous business. After spending an hour on the phone we found that rental car places in Italy could care less if you rent from them, and none of them will actually have a car for you, even though you reserved one.

She never took and customer service training and began to talk to me with a disrespectful attitude and began to make comment about leaving me car less if I didn't take this option. She verbally expressed she was doing me the favor, and that she had the power to cancel my reservation. Talk about leverage, I felt taken advantage of and she seemed to like disrespecting me. That's until I stopped her in her tracks and began to lecture her on customer service and how important it is to care for the customer and for her not to talk to me like that. I've never ever received such poor customer service in my life! Then the time came for her to go and deliver us a car, she did not go over on how the car worked if it was diesel or gas. She didn't give me any information how to change the GPS and system from Italian to English. Jazmin is the worst!

I can't say enough bad things about my experience with Sixt…read more For our rental in Florence Italy, I declined collision damage protection as I have coverage on my credit card already. The attendant added collision damage to our fees anyways, and just slid it on the invoice (which I missed as it was in Italian, and not explained to me whatsoever). Unfortunately, we did get a scratch on the vehicle. When returning the vehicle and discussing the scratch, I pointed out the collision damage waiver that was added to the contract without my authority and explained that if the collision damage waiver was on the contract, that my credit card insurance would no longer apply.... The attendant said she couldn't take it off of the reservation, but that she'd look in to the matter with her manager. We completed the damage report and she assured me that the matter was dealt with. Fast forward 9 months, and I'm getting sent invoices to for loss damage waiver excess charges of 1000 euro... My multiple attempts to correspond with someone in the damages group have been unanswered. On our second rental with Sixt (same trip; pickup in Nice, drop off in Marseille), the attendant in Marseille tried to make up scratches on the vehicle and get me to sign off on the damages. I refused on the spot; yet was sent a damage claim a month later. The way I view this issue is that Sixt has already stolen 100 euro from me by adding additional services that I expressly declined multiple times. By adding this coverage for protection that I didn't need, Sixt has also voided my existing coverage. Finally, it is asking for an additional 1000 euro, for damages in excess of the coverage, which is a limit that was never explained to me, on a service I never purchased. This company's customer service is non-existent at worst, and predatory at best. This type of dodgy operations is no different than Wells Fargo, Enron, and some of the other notably unethical business horror stories. And to think that all I'm looking for is an empathetic customer representative to answer the phone and have a conversation... In summary, I wouldn't recommend Sixt.
