We are visiting Americans here in Florence, with a 3 year old, and wanted to tour Pisa with a winery stop. We considered joining existing tours that put several people in a larger van, but with the 3 year old we needed flexibility to call our own shots in case we needed to. So a private driver it is.
Our hotel booked our trip with Limous Drivers Tours, and our driver Luca Borrani. Luca showed up 15 minutes early in a very nice black Mercedes van! They even had a child seat for us, but we used ours because we brought it to the lobby.
Luca is a VERY knowledgeable tour guide, speaks terrific English , and excellent driver. Our tour included Pisa, Sienna, and San Gimignano. He also selected a very nice winery for lunch, Tenuta Torciano, which gave an excellent wine tasting with food pairings, and the most amazing lasagna I have ever had!
Throughout the day, Luca would drop us off and we would wander alone while he stayed with the van. Here's a tip: the price is for the driver and the van, if you get 6+ passengers than the cost is identical to going in one of those larger van tours, BUT you get the flexibility of calling your own shots with the driver's local knowledge. No brainer.
Based on my experience today, I would absolutely select them again. They drove us 10 hours and got my family back to the hotel safely and on time.
