Quick seating, pretty bright inside, but not too many tables. Tables are modular, so you can maybe fit a group of 8? Had Kari puff, duck curry, chicken satay, beef pad Thai, fried tofu. Kari puff was to have sweet potato, didn't really notice it, but had a slightly sweet meat mix inside. Was nice. Duck was nice, went pretty well with the curry surprisingly. Got low spicy and that worked well to have some kick but not overpowering. Chicken satay was so-so. Little over done, tough. Flavor was standard. Sauce nice. Pad Thai- pretty good. Decent mixture of ingredients. Felt the sweet-sour sauce was a little overpowering. Dish would have been really nice if the sauce was toned down a little. Fried tofu was decent. Nice crunch. Sauce with it was sweet spicy. Overall enjoyable. Thai ice tea- seems a high quality pre-mix, enjoyable and not overly sugary. Maybe stop back again.

This is a nice restaurant to grab tasty Thai food. It's a small size place with only a few tables to dine-in. It's usually a take-out spot. It's a popular spot among college students. When my family and I visited, the restaurant was almost full, given the small space and limited seating. Luckily, there was a table available for us and we didn't have to wait. They have an extensive menu with a good variety to choose from. We ordered papaya salad, spring rolls, chicken pad thai (mild), chicken Penang curry noodles (medium spicy), and beef Khao soi (extra spicy). The appetizers didn't take long to be served, but the entrees did take a bit longer than expected. I am guessing they were busy with takeout orders. The papaya salad was refreshing and tasty. The spring rolls were just okay. We have had better tasting ones elsewhere. The entrees were flavorful and delicious. The flavors of Penang curry and Khao Soi were to our liking. The only critique I had about these two dishes was that their curry side was very runny. Usually, we have had thicker curry sauce for these dishes elsewhere. The pad thai was good and my son liked it. We received good service and the prices were very reasonable. This was a good find, and we liked our meal. Check them out if you haven't been here before.

[Siam Splendour] Thai restaurant in Evanston with a large selection Grabbed dinner with the man @bohai_l and he took us to the backwoods secret spot Started with a Thai Tea which was average and the Tom Yum Soup. I personally like my Tom Yum spicy and sour but this version was on the sweeter side. Ordered a Shrimp Pad See Lew, Chicken & Shrimp noodle, Imperial Fried Rice, and Chicken Curry Overall, the restaurant was decent. It's definitely more of a small local mom & pop shop restaurant. The food was good but what you expect of Thai food. The vibes gives off local small restaurants, almost like a cozy, come home to eat type of vibe. The ambiance was decent. It was only our group when we went. Overall, 4.5/10 http://siamsplendourthai.com 1125 Emerson St Evanston, IL 60201

It's a nice restaurant though the outside look or the internal deco is not fancy, but the food is really authentic and good. The lady serves us is very nice and provide good suggestion in terms of heat level. It's just next door to my daughter's apt, and you don't need advance booking, as most of their business i guess is take out. Super good Thai food with reasonable price.

Siam Splendour started my Thai food phase and has been keeping it alive for the last few months! I've eaten here a number of times, and these are my favorite dishes: - Chicken Satay: Simple but great appetizer! The chicken is always juicy, and the pickles and peanut sauce pair well with it. - Green Curry (with tofu): If I could only order one thing from here, it'd be the green curry. It's filled with different veggies, like bamboo shoots, Thai eggplant, and green beans. I've tried it with every protein, and tofu is the best because it soaks up all the flavor. - Roasted Duck Curry: Chicken, pork, and beef can be a bit dry and overcooked in their curries, so I honestly avoid them, but the duck stays tender in this one! Runner-up: - Kang Masaman Curry: I really like this curry, but it doesn't have many toppings -- it's essentially just protein, potatoes, and peanuts. It's not a problem if you're getting other dishes, but alone, it might feel monotonous. I have an average-to-high spice tolerance, and I get 3/5 or medium spice level for everything. It gives the dishes a kick without being unbearable.

My friend who goes to Northwestern has been telling me about how this is her favorite Thai place, so I was really excited to try it. I got the pad see ewe with beef and it was delicious. I ate it so fast, it had the perfect flavor. We also got the potstickers to share which were also great. If you are thinking about ordering from here, you should!

There was a live saxophone player and I loved the live flowers they had. Our waiter was extremely nice and took the time to explain the menu as well as their customer favorites. I order a Thai iced tea which wasn't bad but I prefer mine a little thicker and sweeter. It came in a thin tall glass which in theory was not a lot of drink. To start we order the chicken appetizer and fried beef on rice to share and unfortunately I did not snap a pic but these were listed under apps or shareables but the portions were extremely small. As our mains came I noticed that they were also small and each were around $20-$30 per plate. Not a bad thing if you don't eat much but I'm a big bang for buck type of gal. My family came to share and this place is a more fine dining thai restaurant which could explain the smaller portions. We ordered the pad Thai which was alright in my opinion I expected a little more flavor, the aubergine which was tossed vegetables as recommended by our waiter which was also ok not much flavor but beautiful plating though, and the coconut curry which was by far my favorite. If I were to come back here I would order that again, it was a nice light yet complex flavor profile which made me savor every bite. Overall good place for an upbeat fancier meal and I highly recommend the coconut curry braised chicken if you visit. Little pricey but that's just my opinion let me know what you guys think if you visit! Oh and they also give your receipt in a boat which they spin and leave a thank you card once you paid which was really cute.

I truly wanted to love this adorable Thai restaurant especially because of how conveniently close…read moreit is to where I currently work however the bad vibes from the owner is a turn off. The first time I visited I didn't realize they close at 8:30 pm so I arrived at 8ish and the server/owner snapped at me that they will be closing their doors by 8:30 pm so I hurriedly ordered a delicious chicken satay appetizer with peanut sauce presented beautifully in a tiny goblet and a crispy curry puff which was extremely good too. I loved the thai iced tea even though it was served in a small glass with lots of ice. The reason I am leaving a two is because the owner made me feel like I was not welcomed and an inconvenience because I arrived half an hour before closing. It was hard for me to savor the food based on the fact that the owner who is also a server to cut costs made it clear she needed me to leave when they start the closing process so I rushed through my first ever dining experience there. Today was my second and admittedly will be my last. The owner gave me the same icy indifferent attitude as if I wasn't genuinely welcomed. The first time I dined there I had a feeling she was the owner so I didn't tip and this time the owner lied to me when I mentioned I knew she was the owner when she practically DEMANDED a tip after my disappointing dining experience. She said she works there as s server and doesn't have a clue who the owner was completely lying to me so I would be quilted into leaving her a tip. First of all I arrived here at 1:30 and she coldly stated they close at 2pm no exception. There was no separate lunch menu and she let me decide what I wanted and didn't even take my order till 1:40pm I chose the crazy noodles with beef and you either get a tiny portion of cucumber salad or an egg roll appetizer. When my food arrived there were no chopsticks just forks and the plate was very decorative but the portions were extremely small. The egg rolls were good but each eaggroll was the size of your pinky finger and you get 3 tiny pieces. I ate quickly and when I got up to pay she asked me how id like to tip. I knew she was the owner so I felt it was HIGHLY inappropriate to hustle a guest for tips especially if you own your own restaurant and you're serving to cut costs by not hiring a server to work for you. Again I thought it was a tacky move on her part to insist on a tip and then lie to me and say she doesn't know who the owner is in real life. I don't like the owner's lack of business ethics so I will not be returning here especially because the lunch deal is extremely overpriced and doesn't include a side of salad or rice or beverage. She never once smiled at me nor made me feel like a welcomed guest so I don't feel like returning to support a business that treats their customers with such disdain and genuine unkindness. Also let me Reiterate even if the food is good my meal was soured by the negativity from the owner who works here as a server too to cut costs. My meal was $18 ish dollars not much of a deal when you realize the plate portions are small and the appetizer is miniscule too. What spoiled it for me was her lack of kindness and no chopsticks. Just not the vibes I'm seeking. I don't like the fact that the owner lied to me about not being the owner so very sketchy!

Everyone needs a clutch restaurant. The place that always comes through. It's convenient,…read moreconsistent, and, most of all, incredibly good. I've had many clutch spots over the years as I moved around, but it took me a minute to find my North Shore go-to. But here I am, a local for half a year now, and my go-to is Ni's, 100%. Lisa, the owner extraordinaire, is friendly, engaging, and an absolute customer service star. Not to mention a formidable chef. She has an obvious passion for food and its cultural history, and I love talking with her about it. The whole crew at Ni's is awesome and always happy to chat or handle any dish alterations. They clearly care about their clientele, and it's one of the things that keeps me coming back. My "must have" is the veggie summer rolls. I get them every time. Really, really good. And after living in the Vietnamese neighborhood of San Francisco for a few years, eating out almost daily, I've had my fair share of summer rolls. The produce at Ni's is always fresh, and I love how they cleverly use jicama for crunch. The rolls come with peanut sauce, but Ni's makes a delicious vegan fish sauce in-house that I go with almost every time. Banh Mi, Veggie Pho, Crispy Tofu, Fried Rice, I've had everything on the menu that is vegan or can be made so, and I'll gladly order them all again and again. This is not an all-vegan restaurant by any stretch (fear not, meat eaters), but Lisa goes out of her way to have options, and I've never been anything but satisfied. Even my kindergartner is into the veggie Pho broth and summer rolls, and he's not the easiest to please. Wilmette is lucky to have Ni's. I hope everyone knows that. They're tucked around the corner from the busier area of Central Ave and Wilmette Ave, and I've been doing my best to spread the word. "You've never been to Ni's?! Get the hell outta here.." So, if you didn't know, now you do. You're welcome.
