A precious hidden gem in our Lamorinda nest. Even if I'm just stopping in for a quick fill of my traveler's mug of regular coffee or if I'm going to sit down outside and sip a cappuccino the Si Si Caffe is a nice place to be. The baristas are friendly and it really feels like a family business. There is often a group of folks with their very friendly dogs hanging out in the front of the shop. Pricing is perfect, a bit lower than Starbucks and Peets, for much better coffee and fantastically better service. If I had to scrimp for a negative, I guess it's that the inside seating is cramped, and it gets hot in there some days. But, beside that nit picking, Si Si is what I wish all coffee shops could be. It isn't pretentious but serves up perfectly crafted espresso. read more

Absolutely love this place! It's quaint, cozy, and uber charming. They have something for everyone. The staff are great and really know how to make amazing drinks. This is seriously the best coffee shop! Prices are good (cheaper than Starbucks) and all the drinks are always delicious! Plus, everyone who works there is really friendly and accommodating, and it's always a pleasant experience. They make wonderful lattes, and this is one of the only places I know that has Irish Cream flavoring, which is one of my favorites. I'm also in love with the lavender-vanilla earl grey tea latte. Everything here is good though, and they usually have some fun interesting seasonal flavors if you ask (the horchata latte and the toasted marshmallow latte were both killer). The only thing is that there's usually only one person working at a time, so it can be a little slow during peak times. Totally worth waiting an extra minute or two though! read more

Delightfully thoughtful staff, really good coffee with lots of milk options including, happily, Lactaid. Indoor and outdoor seating; easy parking on the street out front. NIce spot to inquire of locals about this small college town. The food is simple, for example, they added hot water to a prefix berry oatmeal product in its own sturdy container--better than the usual off the shelf over processed packets and offered with and without gluten or sugar options. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be trained in making espresso at least. I watched them making the espresso (for a latte) once after drinking one of their thin and bitter brews and it is clear that they have the coffee coming out way to fast. Needs to be closer to a 20 second brew, which suggests that they are using too coarse a grind and/or insufficient tamping of the grounds. Probably also using less than top quality coffee, which does not help, but the main issue seems to be the lack of training on the brew time. I recommend they head over to that place in San Francisco where they will train you (written up in the New York Times, with "Ant" evidently a skilled teacher of the art of espresso brewing). read more

A great gift for Moraga, Si Si's in the ONLY independent cafe/coffee shop in town. It has free wireless and good coffee; I've been poured some excellent lattes, too. They offer bagels and an assorment of smoothies, but I really go there for the coffee and wireless. Lots of retired folks hang out and socialize and the staff is friendly. It is on a beautiful tree lined street behind OSH. It's not an amazing place, but for sleepy Moraga (which I love), I really appreciate having a local, independent coffee shop to frequent. read more

Si Si Cafe is one of the only coffee houses worth stopping for in Moraga. Since Moraga is incredibly isolated, no freeway on-ramp, BART station, shopping center of real consequence, or anything else of the sort, in my opinion SiSi cafe is the best place to stop for a latte. That being said, after recently acquiring a job as a barista in another local cafe in Walnut Creek, today i stopped by SiSi's (my day off) for a capp- and i must say it was the saddest capp i have ever set eyes on. The actual espresso @ Sisi's is quite up to par, and is responsible for my now raging coffee addiction, but depending on who's working, their technique could use a little work. Foam in a capp (nowadays) should be like silk- without too many large bubbles or anything. The capp i paid 2.25 for had foam that was truly saddening. Most of the time though, Sisi's is worth the 10 minute wait in the morning for a latte. The service is normally friendly, and if you go there enough, they'll remember your face and regular drink like any good barista should. read more

I'm a single mom of two daughters who both attend school down the street from CiCi's cafe in Moraga. I found this cut little corner shop by accident one day while I was trying to find a starbucks. I had just dropped my youngest off at school and was killing an hour before taking my oldest. Anyhoo, the friendly faces and neighborly feel to the place is what drew me in, but the perfectly steamed milk in my late is what made me come back! I know it sounds funny, but its so true! I am very picky about my coffee, unfortunately I have been cursed with the convenience of commercial chains. Sometimes, though, it is worth taking a few moments for yourself in the morning (or one on one time with your child-which is what I do now) and support your neighborhood shops, enjoy the company of those that keep them running and start your day off with a smile! The crew here is fun, welcoming, they remember names and faces and regular orders, they'll even serve your favorite drink in a warmed glass to get you to pull up a chair and stay a minute. absolutely the best cafe that i have been in a while. i had just stopped by to do some work and fell in love with the environment, good music, good coffee, good pastries, and GREAT clientele! the Batista's are more then friendly, they pretty much knew everyone who had come in and treated them as such. this cafe, or CAFFE, is located just off the beaten path and provides good seating for everyone, weather you want to simply chat with a few friends in the beautiful outdoor seating or work on your laptop quietly inside. i highly recommend that everyone stop by and pick up one of their Chai Tea Lattes!!!! read more
