My wife and I went to this resturant today picked up food to go spent $57.00. We ordered Talapia with Jolluf rice and Vegetable soup greens with Goats meat. The Talapia was hard, dry and very old! All I have to say is YES! Not only was the food delicious, but my customer service experience here was amazing. I work in the evenings so I typically don't get off until 10 o'clock. However, my job was slow that day so I was able to leave around 9:20 pm . I was craving African food and noticed that this place was still open. So I called in and placed an order . The lady on the phone was super kind but also let me know that they would be closing shortly so to get there as soon as possible. Once I arrived, they had my food ready for me at the front and the lady that I spoke with on the phone was so personable. Not only was I greeted with a smile, but she even gave me some suggestions on what I should try next time. Typically, what I have noticed is when people are about to close and they are ready to go home the level of customer service isn't all that good. But for her to be so nice and smiling and genuinely kind. I could tell, not only did she love her job, but she knew I would be back. Like a number of reviews state the meat portions are very small- I ordered the goat and rice and received 3 small pieces of goat most of which were bone. One piece was a vertebrae with practically no meat on it. When I asked the owner about portions he said it was due to covid. Sure. My experience here was absolutely horrible. First, we came in and there was no one at the counter. We waited for over 10 minutes ringing the bell at the front. Finally, we were seated. We then waited another 10 minutes to have our order taken. Mind you, it was empty other than us and 2 other groups that already had their food. Finally, the same employee who came to seat us came to take our order. We all ordered our food, and 10 minutes later 30% of the food came. No utelsils. We had to remind the server that we needed utensils. Another 5 minutes and 90% of the food came. Bringing more utensils. One particular plate of food had a bug on the edge of the plate when served! One of our orders took another 15 minutes to come, and then it was complete. During that time, a group of over 10 people came in. We had to continuously remind them that we hadn't gotten all of our food. They tried to tend to the group that just arrived after we had been there for over half an hour. In fact, before the bulk of our order came, part of the other group had their food! Another thing (from a business perspective) are the overly large portions. Rice could easily be divided into 4 and soup could be divided into 2 to 3. We all went home with leftovers because again, the portions are ridiculous. That's unnecessary money down the drain that can be reinvested into the appearance of the restaurant. Finally, one of the 2 employees working tbat day asked for a tip. I couldn't help but laugh. They have major false advertisement on their menu, or I personally think they charged me more because I ordered such a big amount of food& they thought I was stupid.
