Small Congolese restaurant with great food. It's always fresh and hot and made to order. They have good service are always polite. The ambiance reminds me of restaurants back in Cameroon which is where I'm from. I highly recommend their chicken, ribs and fish. The jollof rice is also delicious.

The food was delicious but it did take about 20-30 min to get the first dish. Overall, it was worth the wait. I'll come back for the oxtail and okra. The ribs were good, but a tad salty for my taste.

    Goat meat + plantains + pili-pili

Stopped by Friday night w/ my mom and we enjoyed the food. I ordered the goat plate w/ plantains and it was delicious. My mom had the Makayabo w/ sombe and pounded yam. A few of the items on the menu weren't available which was disappointed. Clean place. Fally Ipupa in the background- can't go wrong with that. The owner was our hostess, server, cook, and cashier. You'll have to be super patient here and enjoy music in the background as it does take awhile for food to arrive. The pili-pili was 11/10! So good!

    Pork ribs and yam fufu

Friendly service and great food! We also had the samosas, highly recommend. High praises.

I ordered the Grilled Chicken, Jollof Rice, Egusi w/Yam Fufu and Puff Puff. All of it was pretty good. However the portion of chicken I received was very small and mostly bones. And the Jollof Rice was extremely spicy but I liked the kick.

definitely coming back this goat with the jollof rice is so fire!!!!!

Great food and very good customer experience. I had the Fumbwa, Pondu, Bean, Jollof rice and fried rice. Everything was delicious.

    Egusi & chicken and fufu

I had Egusi & Chicken and fufu! Which everything was great and fresh cause I went at 12:30 when they open! Only thing I didn't like was how my egusi had a lot of grease in it!! Service was GREAT it always the same lady! Ambiance was chill cause she let me watch the news

Great beer options from West Africa

This place is really good. Most of the clientele when I was in there were expats from Nigeria/West Africa so the food HAD to be good. Thankfully they dont Americanize the menu so it's actually delicious and not a watered down version of West African dishes like you get at so many other places. Spicy means spicy here. Plus, Ms. Victoria is a very sweet lady and definitely knows what she is doing. I got the curry goat and was VERY happy with that decision. Definitely will stop by next time I'm in town.

I was very happy with the food and the service! Goat stew is to die for!! 100% recommend! And the prices were very much reasonable for the amount of food you get which can easily feed two. I loved the jelof rice and I like that the give you the spice on the side:) I will be returning!

    Fufu n goat meat

I am sorry the food tasted good not awesome. The portion was so little for $17.99! Goat The fufu was almost $8 but the goat was too little for the portion of fufu. Super oily as u can see in the picture. Super expensive for what they give u. Don't go try some where else. Where at least u will be full for $26 at least. For one person!

I'm soooo full. My chest is hurting but it's all worth it. I've been past this place so many times in the past but I finally stopped by to eat today. I tried a little of everything. The fufu was fun to eat! The Congo ginger beer was spicy as hell and got me in line for the rest of the dishes to come. My favorite part of the meal was the samusa appetizer! The runner up was the Grilled chicken; spicy, tinder, juicy! Yup. The beignets were just fried dough (no sugar on top like New Orleans style). The service was good! It has a caring family feel to the place.

Their tilapia and rice are always delicious. This place is pretty consistent. I will be back for sure.

Waited 45 minutes; egusi tasted stale/reheated and I found a curly hair. Other than that the jollof was okay and everything else.

I recommend the…read moreTex-Ethiopian platter for a thorough sampling of all the best things this restaurant offers! It includes: Smoked Doro Wat (Spicy Chicken Stew), Awaze Rib Tip Tibs, Awaze Brisket, Awaze Pork Ribs, your choice of 2 sides, Texas Toast, gluten-free teff injera, and rice pilaf! The hardest part is choosing the sides because they're all amazing, from classic BBQ sides like potato salad, fried okra, baked beans, corn, collard greens, and mac and cheese to Ethiopian sides like shiro wat (chickpea stew), misir wat (red lentil stew), tikil gomen (cabbage and carrots), and more. Even berbere-spiced mac and cheese! Berbere is an incredible blend of Ethiopian spices that is amazing on everything, savory or sweet. If it's just me eating with no one to share, I like to get the Big Ash loaded baked potato. Your choice of meat on a perfectly fluffy hot potato with plenty of butter and sour cream -- it's soooo comforting and delicious!

I expected "knock your socks off" but got very good food instead. I expected a packed dining room but at 12:30 it was almost empty. We ordered the sample plate for 2 which included ribs, brisket, rib tips, and doro wat (chicken stew) with rice, injera and we got beefy collard greens and cabbage with carrots sides. The ribs were excellent. I also really liked the chicken stew. I was surprised by the sour flavor of the injera. The thin bbq sauce was tasty while it was not sweet or full of vinegar. It was a nice alternative to traditional sauces. While we enjoyed our meal, and I would order the ribs and chicken stew again, this place is a bit too far for a repeat. But it introduced me to Ethiopian food which I can find closer to home. I love the creativity of the owners.
