This was my first time trying African food. I was disappointed. We ordered the Egusi soup and Jollof rice! We wanted goat, but they were out. So we chose beef instead. That was a BIG mistake. The beef was so tough that we couldn't eat it.. I truly believe the meat wasn't fresh.. On top of that, the Egusi soup smelled like it had intestine in it?! I was so disappointed.. I'm going to try again, but definitely not here.. Whatever you do don't get the beef..

Being raised in a Nigerian household the food was average. The menu was a piece of paper. Everyone wanted to know if I spoke Edo. (I do not). If you are a new Patron of this restaurant walking in to a empty room with tables set is normal. Just sit and get comfortable. The portions are huge. I had the Egusi stew with fish and fufu. My family enjoyed the jollof rice with beef and chicken.

Wanted to try something out of the regular routine. This place was near by with great reviews. Nevertheless to say it ended up living up to its great reviews. I order my food to go and they give me a huge portion of rice with my meal that could last me into the next day. (no complaints there) The place it self has a "homey" feel and they are extremely polite when helping you pick out what you want. The food it self is very flavorful and fulfilling, but not heavy. The plantains are cook to perfection along the serving of rice. I bought the tilapia as my meat this time and will be coming back for the chicken dish!

This is by far my favorite African restaurant ever! The service is always GREAT! You can feel the love and respect when you walk in. I usually get Jollof rice and stewed beef but this time around I got amala and ewedu & gbegiri which is finger licking good!!! Omg so delicious and well spiced. I definitely recommend this place if you're trying to eat good Nigerian food.

Fish with jollof rice and plaintain. Meatpie in the back.

I truly think I'm being generous with a 2 star rating. Since I live nearby I had been meaning to try this place, but regret the $12 I spent. I called in my order. When I arrived, and opened the door it was different... No greeting station just table and chairs set up like you fellowship hall in your small local church. I begin to look around for a pick up window but only see a door that says "employees only."Then a lady screams from the back table "sit down". Okay by now I do have an attitude but I remain calm. A woman them comes from that door with the employee. Only sign in it and says jollof rice with fish and I said yes. I then asked for a meat pie added to the order. She then said okay and left quickly. A moment later I then heard what sounded like a microwave Bell go off then she came out soon after with my bag in her hand. So now I'm SMH wondering if this meat pie was just microwaved. I inspected my food and sure enough there was steam coming from the meat pie but the smell was aromatic. I made it home quickly and couldn't wait to taste the meal forgetting about my experience at the restaurant. O.M to the G, my fish was so dry and bland, just downright rubbery. Not at all like the reviews others had left. I then was hoping the rice and plaintain would save the sad dish but it didn't. So much for a good meal. The microwave heated meatpie tasted better than the entree The staff were rude and the food nasty. Take home message: try at your own risk. Or just by a plane ticket to the motherland!!!

Interesting cuisine, inexpensive as well as authentic. They didn't have a menu so we asked our waiter and he was very helpful. Not my style honestly but it works if you want something different.

The food was good. I had jollof rice and fried tilapia. It was very good. Spicy and flavorful.

When I go to Nigerian restaurants, I'm often worried about long waits and not-so-great service,…read moreeven though I'm Nigerian American myself. During my last visit, I ordered ahead and it took me about 25 minutes drive, which wasn't too bad. The person who took my order was nice, which was a pleasant surprise compared to what I expected. I ordered two portions of suya and two shawarmas, costing a bit over $40. The shawarma was okay in size, but it didn't really stand out. It satisfied my cravings, but nothing more. Now, the suya was a letdown. It had too much oil and lacked that real suya flavor. The taste of curry was too strong, overshadowing the authentic suya taste. Plus, there were way too many onions compared to the meat. I'd rate the suya a 4 out of 10 for the effort. On the other hand, the shawarma, though of an average size, was pretty tasty. It was spicy, so you'll need a drink to handle the heat. I'm giving a three-star rating for both the food and the service, also appreciating that they're open on Sundays. I've tried suya and shawarma in many places around the DFW area, and I think this place can do better. If they work on improving the spice mix for the suya and balance out the meat and onions, it would make a big difference and bring them up to the level of other spots in the area.

Over priced for the portion and they have a minimum $20 they make you spend. It is Not worth the…read moreflavor or texture of the meat. Would rather to go kemis or suya university up the road if kemis is out!

Went to this Halal restaurant for the first time and the overall experience was not good!…read more First of all, their website listed on Google is not correct. It directs to an article about this restaurant on D Magazine website. Not sure why the owner has not noticed and corrected that yet. If there is no website then Google should not show it at all. It is just confusing to customers. Second, their restaurant menu is not up to date. Majority of the items under "Les Grillades," "A La Braise," and "Sauces" were not available. We were told by the server that they used to make it in the past but not anymore. If not anymore, again, why the menu is not up to date? Why wasting customer's time? There is a picture of a full grilled chicken with coleslaw on Google. When asked for it, we were told it is a "Pepper Chicken" that is only available during the day time and we also have to order in advance. We didn't see this item on the menu and not sure how customers will know about this item and when to order. Pure carelessness from the owner! For the food, we ordered "Meat Pie," "Benachin," and "Afra/Dibi" chicken. Meat pie was good but little expensive in my opinion. Afra/Dibi chicken was good as well and also came up with a decent portion. What I didn't like about it is that it only came with a bunch of onions and nothing else. No sides at all which I thought was little bizarre specially for the price they are charging. I did not like Benachin! Small portion, expensive, and tasted just okay. It was just a boiled meat with some rice and vegetable curry. Vegetable curry was good but rest of the dish was just okay. I don't recommend this dish. Their customer service was iffy. We were not checked upon in a timely manner. There was a short hair African American lady and her customer service was good. There was another African American lady and she definitely needs training on her customer service and attitude. She would barely come to the table and hardly answer any questions or try to help. Rest of the time I saw her behind the counter spending time on her phone! This restaurant only has bottled water and they charge for it. I may or may not come back to this restaurant in the future.
