Our experience with Shred-it has been disappointing, and a big part of that was our interactions with driver Jarin Corpuz! In my experience, Jarin came across as cocky and dismissive whenever we raised questions or concerns. Instead of providing helpful customer service, we felt like our concerns were brushed off. Tried to schedule an appointment, maybe get a quote, Left a message called back a week later, the guy on the phone said he saw that there was an open request for a call back and would patch me through but I needed to wait for 3 business days for a response. Obviously I said that was unacceptable since I had already waited a week, so i was transfers to someone who put me on hold for over an hour then hung up on me.... well Goodwill gets this business from now on! read more

We have locked shred bins located throughout our office, shred it comes about every other month to remove the documents that need shredding. I requested once to watch our documents get shredded, I called the office in advance so they brought their special truck on site. My documents were placed directly into their giant shred container, and I followed them to their truck. It was pretty neat, mounted on their truck, they have a monitor that I was able to watch everything. I watched as the giant shred container was lifted directly into the shred machine, and it took only a few minutes for completion. At no time do they ever handle the physical documents, since the office bins include a heavy duty bag, that your document drop into. When Shred-it comes to empty the office bins, they are taking the bags instead of handling documents. They actually welcomed me to watch the whole process from the box, to the bin, to the machine. read more

I called the 800 number and asked if the Puuhale location does walk in - drop off service. The person who answered said yes, just go to the address and it's $75 minimum for up to 10/12 boxes. Our office used 3 people and an hour and a half of time loading up and driving there. My coworker was able to locate the office and called the 808 # once outside and the person working said they only take appointments and no shredding on Fridays. Perhaps this location itself is not to blame, and I will happily change my review if I'm responded to and corporate is notified of this particular location's limitations so as not to waste anyone else's time. At this point we are a small business that has lost out on money and time we could have dedicated to our own business instead of wasting our time on a National brand service. Will stick with Goodwill for now. read more

Extremely poor communication and worker had me move 80+ boxes a few feet closer to him for his convenience, but other than that the worker was fast and friendly and shredded an extra tote at no charge. Overall a massive headache and probably should be avoided if you have options. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE service. After a very easy set-up to get a console in our office for shredding, it's nearly impossible to set up a consistent schedule for shredding pick-up. It took me more then 5 times to try to get a concrete schedule from them, and even now with the schedule, they NEVER show up when they're supposed to! They never answer their emails, and their branch manager Paul, who was willing to help get a driver out to us for the very next day when they no-showed, and they STILL didn't come! WHAT does somebody have to do to get reliable service from these people?! DON'T set up and account with this company in Hawaii, I'M WARNING YOU! read more

This review is related not to the actual shredding service, but the billing department. I paid my bill online, and Shred It's system did not show that the bill had been paid. The next day, I paid it again. As it turns out, both payments were taken. Once I saw the duplicate payment, I called and asked for one payment to be refunded. Three months later, and after numerous calls, the amount has not been refunded to me. Calls from supervisors have not been returned as promised. I get different information each time I call. read more

Terrible service! After signing the contract of services to pick-up 60 banker's boxes for shredding, our original pick-up date of February 4th was cancelled due to their truck breaking down. Totally understandable however there was no call or follow-up to reschedule a pick-up date. They never made contact with us and we initiated a call the Vince (Operations Manager) to reschedule a pick-up date, which was today, February 9th. Finally was able to get in touch w/Vince who confirmed the date of 02/09/16 however there was no pick-up. Got in touche with Edward who was very sweet and professional, however in a bad position to be in with a disgruntled customer. He tried to transfer me over to Vince, who was on another call, and told me he'd have Vince call me. An hour later, no call from Vince so I contacted Edward again only to find Vince had left the office. He placed me on hold and tried to contact Vince on his cellphone, which he did successfully. Edward said that he was told by Vince they did not have the equipment they needed for our order!? All we wanted them to do was "PICK-UP" our boxes and take them offsite for shredding. At this point I became very upset! There is no communication between Vince and Edward, yet Edward takes the brunt end of dealing with customers that are upset. Vince NEVER contacted us or myself directly and has made no effort of contacting us/me to provide and update to the scheduled delivery. Poor service. Poor Edward (he doesn't get paid enough and with his professionalism and the way he operates, he belongs somewhere where he'd be greatly appreciated! Poor Shred-It for the loss of our business. So much for customer loyalty! Your loss.....BIG TIME! PS...Edward, if you ever need a job, call me! I'd love to have you on our team! read more

Absolutely horrendous service. Its really unfortunate because initially I was please with the service I received from Shred It. We had a consistent person that came like clockwork and never had any billing issues. I'm not sure what happened but it has been nothing but issues for the last year. Consistent billing issues, getting double billed prior to someone even coming on site. Sometimes no-one shows up but I still get a bill. This is especially concerning to me as I am using their service to shred sensitive business and client information. How am I receiving bills for a service that was never performed? This is the fourth time this has happened. It is a hit or miss if you actually get through to speak to a person to fix billing and scheduling issues. If you are lucky and do speak with someone good luck with them being of any help. As of today I am terminating my services with shred it. read more

Edward was very polite, he sent me some information late last year and I was finally able to send him back some information about what I had. As I pulled up, I noticed the two roll up doors were closed. So I walked to the door and it says, "Knock real loud," I did, as I was knocking the roll up doors were going up. So, I stood back and looked and a lady looks at me and says "Do you have an appointment?" I say yes, she said, "who did you talk to?" I said Edward. Mind you she saying this with some attitude in her voice, as if I'm not suppose to be there. So, I walk over to her and Edward walks over to me and greets me. At the same time, this lady is trying to tell me something in her attitude voice, "you know there is a drop charge right of $86." or something like that. I couldn't understand her, so I said, "a what?" she mumbles again and I still couldn't understand her, then she looks at me like I'm stupid rolls her nasty eyes backwards and walks away. Here's a tip lady, you don't like your job leave, because people like you spoils everything for everyone else. The only reason I gave the 5 star rating, Edward was very polite, professional and helpful. He helped unload, prepare the paperwork and explained everything to me. I don't know what her problem was, but she has no aloha whatsoever, I never post anything on here, but she was a...I will leave it at that. read more

I wish I could give 0 stars. The service has been terrible for at least the past 6 months. We were on a schedule to have them come to our office every 4th Tuesday to shred, but about 6 months ago, they either came right when we were about to close, or didn't come at all. When I'd call to complain and ask when the driver would show up, I rarely got a call back. And when I did get a call back, I kept getting the same excuses: short on drivers, truck out of service. Then they said they were working on a new route/schedule which would make things better. We were now scheduled for Mondays. But the very first time they were supposed to come on a Monday, no one showed up. My boss was finally fed up, so I called them to tell them to come pick up our empty shred consoles the next time they were in the area. And now they want us to pay $50 because they came to pick up the consoles! What a joke! They haven't been doing their job for months, and they want to get paid?! I called to complain about the invoice and got attitude from Melissa. I let her know that we aren't paying the invoice. We'll see what happens. Do not use this company! read more

Office is moving, got quoted, signed documents and got a date for the shred it truck to come. Today was the day for the shred it truck to come. But nope! They couldn't make it. Just want to say "THANK YOU" to Darrel Duncan-Alone for servicing our facility. The last 2 pick ups, he exemplified great customer service even though office staff did not communicate with him on extra load of pick (over what is usually picked up). I have had customer service issues with this company for many years, last week was the worst, their manager Crystal is just rude. The Customer Service is terrible and clearly they do not value or care about long time customers. I will be canceling my service. I would rate a 0 if I had that choice. read more

Questionable business practice. Navy Federal Credit Union offered shredding services on April 23rd from 9 am to 1 pm. I decided to go early so I wouldn't have to wait long as I had an appointment at 10 am. Well the truck didn't show up on time nor was it there at 9:30 am when I had to leave for my other appointment. Apparently the truck broke down and they had to send another truck. But I went back at 1:10 pm thinking they may have extended the hours since the truck was late. Well the truck was still there, the driver/operator said he shut everything down already. If he took my boxes he would have to charge the credit union more to take more boxes. This was very JUNK service. If customers have to adjust to their broken trucks and late arrivals, they should adjust for the inconvenience of having to wait and should stay open an equivalent amount of time they were late. That would have been a good business decision. I'll be using a different shredding service from now on. read more
