Would give ZERO stars if I could. All I can say is that these people ripped me off 100%. I paid 300$ to have their "high end" ipod integration set up in my car. It worked about half the time for almost a month and then completely stopped working. The installation also managed to disconnect half the speakers in my car. When I had a separate professional take a look at the installation, he mentioned they sold me a cheap system that was clearly corrupted from the start and was certainly USED. The guy felt so bad I got so worked over that he actually reconnected my speakers for free. He said he has never seen such shotty work for such a simple install. ALSO - He managed to properly install and set up a better system... for 150$ Want to get ripped off? Choose these guys. read more

Just want to add another 5 star review for Jerry and crew! I brought in my car to these guys twice now, first time for getting an ipod adapter installed on the stock radio, and the second time, just yesterday, for getting a dvd head-unit installed. Each time they did a great job, and have really fair prices. I had all the parts already for the dvd-player installation and had done most of the setup myself before I blew a fuse. Knowing I'm no expert, I brought it to these guys and they completed the whole setup in about an hour, and charged me just $50. These guys stand by their work, are the most knowledgable car audio folks I've met, are really friendly, easy-going and professional. Can't say enough good things. Added bonus of looking at the ongoing projects they have going on in their garage while you wait for your install to get done... I saw a speedboat with a mind-blowing setup. Forget Best Buy, deal with this top-notch local business instead for the best car audio work and fairest pricing. read more

I'm always wary of mechanics and auto shops since I always feel like they overcharge. So, when I was looking for a place that does car audio work, I thought I'd check Yelp. The reviews for Showtime Audio were stellar - I decided to check them out! I loved how the woman (I wish i got her name) was uber helpful! I told her I wanted an inexpensive, basic radio and she suggested that I check out Best Buy fist since they carry entry-level types. Showtime Audio carries mid-rage to high-end stereos, which were a little above my price range. If it were any other place, I'm sure they would have insisted on me getting the stereo from their shop. Anyway, the woman said they could install the radio for as low as $100, which I thought was a fair price. After buying a stereo at Best Buy, my cousin (the car owner) took the car to Showtime and they not only installed the radio for the agreed upon-price of $100, they also fixed her car's protruding bumper for free! Too bad I don't own a car myself or I would definitely take it to Showtime Audio! read more

I'm always skeptical about 5 stars, but everyone I talked to was extremely friendly and helpful. They worked with me on installing two remote car starters on my car and my boyfriends car. We took them in last Friday and Saturday and they were great. I would highly recommend them to my friends & family and thought I should share my thoughts w/ the yelp world too! read more

This place definitely deserves a 5 star review. Jerry and his employees worked with my budget to get me what I wanted and did it in a timely and professional manner. I will definitely be bringing all my future cars here. I can't say enough about their customer service and problem solving skills. read more

Showtime Audio - American muscle in the shop - Car Stereo Installation Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

Showtime Audio makes you feel good to be there. Visited multiple time, always helpful, always available. My car-stereo+phone setup was complicated, and I'm picky, but Showtime Audio accomplished everything thoroughly and professionally. It's clear Jerry views customer service as top priority, not just because it's good business, but also because that's who he is: likeable and professional. And he builds a team to match. read more

These guys deserve six stars. Nowadays, our expectations are so low for service providers. We are happy if people just do the basic job, and at least don't screw things up. Most of the time people don't even do the basic job. Showtime is a very well-managed business. Their people sweat the small stuff. They master the details. They obsess. This is so rare that I have to compliment Jerry and all his staff. I was really pleased with their installation of my Sirrius/XM receiver. My installer took two hours and I thought the bill would be a shocker. But the job was done perfectly -- and I would have gladly paid twice as much as they charged me. read more

I searched for about 5 months for a place to take my 2003 Vette for a new sound system this was by far the most professional and responsive, great information and direction on what was needed to produce a superior sound quality and support afterwards read more

Showtime was amazing with my car audio installation. I had a somewhat difficult head unit and rear monitor combo. They worked with me to get the unit working perfectly. They are all extremely knowledgeable about their products and most importantly they love what they do. The prices are fair, but well worth the service and product. They can fulfill any of your audio video needs as well as a few other services (sunroofs, etc.) read more

Showtime was great. Dropped my CRV off to have them install a new radio (that I supplied). Attention to detail! They installed it perfectly, hooked up the noise-cancelling mic for phone calls, and then walked me through how the radio worked. Very good work! I would recommend to anyone. read more

Jerry and his team are very cool and what I would consider the best in the business. I've always had custom stereos in my cars and I've always had something to complain about but the work done by these guys was top notch. 4 years later and not one single issue. Don't go anywhere else but here! read more

I brought my car in to fix what I was told was a broken amp by my Mazda dealship. Jerry was extremely helpful and discovered that it was just a blown speaker. Had I gone with what the dealship told me I would have been out $1,000 and the problem would not have been fixed. I will definitely be back for any of my audio needs!! read more

Best experience and customer service I've ever had with car audio. Although I'm sure they love working on huge custom builds they helped me out quickly. I have a simple self installed single amp/10 inch sub set up in my Acura and they were happy to trouble shoot on my walk in. Tested cables and narrowed down the culprit. Dealt with 3 different employees. One seemed to be the owner or manager. Everyone was very informative and to the point. I'd definitely recommend them to anyone in the Chicago area for car audio needs. read more

This place provides the best service by far in Chicago. This is only shop I would recommend. The entire experience from the time I walked in to get prices to the time I had everything installed was amazing. They provided excellent customer service and the installation was top notch. I made an appointment to have subs & amp installed with my factory radio. I also added on a sub controller last minute and was no problem. The prices where extremely reasonable and have no complaints. Jerry introduced himself and personally went over the installation process and mounting locations. I was open and he gave great advice so I let him take control. I couldn't be happier with the outcome. Now I can't wait to go back again for some more upgrades. read more

These guys rock. Ive had work done on several cars here including: tints, remote starters, ipod cable connection, etc. Nice clean & quick install each time. They staff is very courteous and treats all customers great, regardless if you have a Lamborghini or Civic. Highly Recommended ! read more

Another five-star review for Jerry and the Showtime audio crew! I actually got my remote start, alarm, and keyless entry system installed here back in December for my birthday, and It's been working great ever since. I was very pleased with the caliber of customer service here at this shop - rarely if ever do you find such nice and honest people in the auto modification business. Jerry made a great first impression - introduced himself to me and my mom as we entered and complimented me on my car's custom wheels and window tint (I drive a Scion xB. You know I get the haters. It was like Kim Kardashian had just told me she liked my hair). The installation went quickly and seamlessly - we were in an out in an hour and a half or so. The lady made sure to walk me through all the functions on both the remote start and alarm, and answered all my questions expertly. She also assured me that installing this didn't void my warranty (and I've never had a problem) and print me out a little something for "proof" in case a dealership or shop ever gave me guff about it. They give you the option of cash or credit - if you can, pay in cash, as they'll usually slice the price slightly. And as we were leaving, Jerry noticed the custom LED door lock levers I had installed myself (minus the LED part because ugh, electrical stuff) and offered to hook me up if I eer wanted help with any other modifications. Thanks, Jerry! Hopefully I'll be back to keep the box foxy. :] Kind've a funky location though. Try not to go during rush hour - if you're coming down Elston from the north it can get packed. There's an entrance around back, too. read more

Couldn't have asked for better service! I just bought a new Jeep Wrangler and wanted to add a car alarm/stereo. I checked out a few different places and they all seemed to give me either a hard sell, or they just seemed seedy. I found Showtime Audio here on Yelp and I couldn't have been happier with everything. They answered all my questions, made really good suggestions, and the install went smooth as can be. If you are considering adding anything electronic to your car don't look anyplace else!! read more

Needed some custom audio work done on my car and Showtime Audio was the only place willing to do it. All the other audio shops in Chicago that I called were not willing to do the job because they either couldn't do it or didn't want to be responsible should they cause damage to my car. It was a relatively small job ($300) but Jerry put a lot of thought into it and completed it perfectly. My car was not damaged. Pricing is reasonable and everyone who works there are very friendly and professional. They do some top notch work there, it's pretty cool just to drop by and tour their garage, there are always some incredible cars being worked on. After my initial pleasant encounter with Showtime Audio, I went there again to get a custom alarm/remote start installed in my car. Once again, it was professionally done and everything's perfect. Thanks Jerry! read more

So, I saw all of the five star reviews and thought that it's either a) too good to be true or b) a great place to do what I thought I'd be able to do on my own, and failed. Called the day before I brought my car in. They were able to schedule an install, and by noon the next day had my radio installed and hooked up with my amp. Friendly and quick service. Thanks! read more

This shop is the absolute best place if you want quality custom work done for your car. Honest and reliable people that will get the job done. Jerry and his team are an amazing group of talented, motivated individuals. He will tell you "if you can think it, we can make it happen" and that is true. I had ideas of what I would like my dash to look like and he made it happen (check out my pics of the ILX-007 in my QX4). As they were working on the car he and I bounced ideas of what dock I should get for my phone. When he couldn't find anything good enough, he just made it by hand. These guys stand behind their work and are always willing to revise or modify what they did. Thanks Showtime Audio! read more

I had them replace my factory speakers while keeping the factory radio on my 2016 cruze. The representative let sample speaker set ups using my own phone and music. I made my choice and scheduled my appointment. You will probably not get same day service here, but it is worth it to be patient. I was impatient on an earlier installation on a different car a year ago, and I paid for it. The effort of he other shop was not great. Sold me a crappy radio that was never hooked up right and I lost functioning of factory installed car items such as steering wheel controls. I returned on the appointment day and everything was installed on schedule and worked properly. I left with the radio blasting and speakers thumping. After a few days I noticed lots of static and loss of functioning on some of the speakers. I drove back and explained the problem. They immediately got to work. The person identified the issue, exploration the amplifier was malfunctioning, and replaced it. I was on my way in 45 minutes. After 4 or 5 weeks everything is working great. I'm enjoying the speakers and seek reasons to drive so I can listen to them. read more

Jerry and his crew at Showtime Audio are top-notch. I came in a few months ago to see about installing a CarPlay unit in my Toyota Rav4 and he was awesome about explaining the different units out there, pros and cons of each, and showing me my options - even when he didn't carry the item. Fast forward a few months and I came back with the new Kenwood CarPlay unit for install. Installation was quick and professional. Everything works great - even the steering wheel controls which I had heard were difficult to retain. And after I realized the backup camera wasn't hooked up to the monitor, Jerry fixed it no questions asked. Loved the service here so much I had them tint the windows last weekend. Everyone at the shop is professional, courteous, and took the time to show me my new system and ensure everything was in working order. Cannot recommend these guys enough!! read more

I got a subwoofer and amp installed about a week ago. I must say..I am so happy with the installation and the recommendations I had to come here and write a review. I have a Jeep Wrangler and during the summer when the soft top is down...the music is hard to hear due to the wind noise. The system just sound ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! From the amp and the sub Jerry recommended and also how much space he saved my trunk by building a small box for the flat subwoofer since Jeep don't have much room back there. The box is so so sweet!!!! Most importantly...Jerry his wife and one of his staff Turtle..just showed kindness, good communication, didn't leave me waiting, ready to help you...and their work is outstanding. Thank you so much. read more

Another 5-star review to add to Showtime's roster. I was searching around for a place to have an ipod kit installed in my car. After finding Showtime and reading their reviews I decided to get an appointment. I was able to schedule everything by email which was helpful during the day. My car went in right when I got there and was ready extremely fast! I was even called to see where I would want the cable to be located. Whether you're getting something extremely high-end or something simpler like the ipod install, definitely check them out. Great service and everyone was extremely friendly. Thanks again! read more

This place is amazing! I decided to get my car audio and security work done here, solely based on its yelp reviews! Well I am reporting back, This place is your one stop shop for all your car audio video and secuirty needs, They upgraded my speakers, I got a great price and it cost less than I expected! I also decided to get a security system with the remote start, again, I got it for less than I thought it was going to cost me, and its so nice! I can now lock and unlock the doors with my new remote, didnt have them before. The security system is so tricky, no one will be stealing my honda or the wheels and tires now. The people here were so polite, professional and friendly. This place has earned my trust in a big way, clear prices upfront, neat clean quick installations, clean shop, nice waiting room, cold bottled water, free wi-fi. A great crew here expecially that Jerry! finally found A PLACE I CAN RECOMMEND 100%! I will definately be going back here when I need somemore stuff for the car. And what was really amazing is after I paid, they told me their labor comes with a lifetime gaurantee! WOW! if it ever quits working bring it back and will will fix it! Awesome! So you know they do the highest quaility work, no one I know gives a lifetime gaurantee on their labor anymore. This place does it right and they hook you up! I felt like I Was at the pimp my ride place! This buisness is a real gem! when I was there, there were porchse's there Ferraris. etc, the greatest thing about this place is that even if you dont come in with a million dollar car, they treat you and your 20 year old honda with the same quality, concern and care, as if you were the guy with the very high dollar car! If there was a 6 stars, this place would get it! ANother review to add to this place, They rock, call them up, they will take care of you! read the reviews on yelp about them, they paint a pretty picture of this place and its accurate! read more

I'm impressed! That about sums it up. This was my first experience with Showtime Auto. They installed a Navi system in my Acura. Not only did they do a great job, but even more than that, the people who work there are very polite and friendly. When I do business with anyone, the relationship is important. Jerry also went above and beyond. The system I purchased was very quirky, and it wouldn't come up with North Avenue on the GPS. Jerry took the time to call 2 different Alpine experts, who helped him to diagnose the issue. I won't get into the logistics but the system was way off. I'm not sure how anybody could have figured this out, but he did. He persisted until the issue was resolved, and was very patient. I am very grateful for his kindness. This is a company with integrity and kindness, and I would highly recommend Showtime Auto!!! read more

Was on the phone for weeks trying to get on the books. Finally gave me a day and i brought in the car for an audio hookup and backup camera. Told me it would be all day. First gave me a price of $350. Then said $500. Calls me at the end of the day, said he was gonna come in early to finish it up. I cant leave it there so i go and pick it up. They had done absolutely nothing to it. Waste of my time. Horrible company service. Wouldnt recommend to anyone read more

Wow. From consultation to build to testing, Jerry and his team were truly top notch. Every single person I met here was passionate, professional, and eager to roll out the best sounding (and looking) vehicles they could. The pricing was very competitive, the expertise comes second to none. Seriously, Jerry and his crew has a sleaze factor of zero, unlike many other audio shops. Showtime's work well exceeded my expectations, and have turned me into a life long customer with their service and craftsmanship. So, if you're looking for an alarm (you know you need one) or to makeover your sound (you know you WANT to) Showtime has to be on the top of your list. read more

This place defines a well-run small business. I called and left a voicemail when they were closed, which often results in no response, and I received a return call on the next business day with a helpful employee who walked me through the best options for a new stereo. I then had a quote emailed to me within an hour, at which point I called to set up an appointment (which is not necessary). I was told that it would take two hours. I left my car there, walked around to do errands and find a place to read, and received a call two hours later to the minute. The owner then walked me through how to use the new piece of equipment, answered my questions, and took me to his office to explore other custom solutions (at my request). The cost was exactly what the quote indicated. Not often that I am this satisfied by a consumer experience. read more

Showtime was very nice and helpful in fixing the auxiliary jack in my Toyota Prius. I was a bit embarrassed to bring it in since they mostly do sophisticated sound systems on high-end cars, but they treated me like any other customer from the moment I walked in. They said it's something they've seen a lot, and knew right away that I needed a new part. The service here is great. As I was walking out, the owner, Jerry, stepped away from his conversation with a Ferrari owner to thank me for coming in. The only reason I don't give a 5-star is that I'm not entirely sure I needed the new part. They may have been able to go in and fix the piece without paying $100 for a new piece. Altogether, a good experience though. read more

I usually don't post reviews on yelp, but Jerry and the crew at showtime audio deserve some praise!!! I had my install done about a year ago and this was my experience. I bought my dream car an M4 and was hesitant to have anyone work on it. I read all the positive yelp reviews and decided to take my chances with Jerry. I needed a radar install with a dash cam. I am super anal and research the hell out of every product before I purchase. I knew exactly how I wanted the install and shared this information with Jerry. Jerry knew exactly what I was talking about and took on the task. When the car was complete, I was a little nervous to see the finished product. During the install I didn't receive a phone call and thought that something was going to be wrong. I saw the finished product and was blown away. It was exactly as i had mentioned to Jerry and could not have been happier. When the transaction was complete I felt a little foolish for being scared to trust Jerry with my car. Showtime Audio has obviously done some very intricate installs and my radar install was a breeze. read more

Summary: This place is awesome, and the owner, Jerry, is also as such. My buddy and I went in to Showtime Audio because his car battery was having a lot of issues, and the car would sometimes have trouble starting and had power issues. His friends originally wired 2- 15" sub-woofers in the trunk and he thought this may have been why he had the issues with the battery. In the shop, this really chill guy comes over to help us with the issue. He goes through the car and rewires the subs correctly, and he also fixed the issue with the battery. We learned that if the wires had been tightened in the car, it would have run the risk of setting the car on fire the way it was originally configured, so that would have been fun. The guy fixed everything in the car for a nominal fee and then even put air in the tires when he noticed one was rolling low. What a champ. As we're on our way out, we shake hands and thank the guy, and then find out that he was the owner, Jerry. He's one of the most laid back and personable business owners I have ever met, I gotta say. It's no wonder this place has such a great reputation. My friend is from out of town, but he said anytime he needs anything worked on in Chicago, he'll bring it to these guys. (I will too, if I ever give up on commuting) read more

Amazing Customer Service!!! I do most of my own work on my cars and am very picky about who I want working on them. When it came time to upgrade the stereo in my Cooper S, one visit to Jerry convinced me that this was the shop to go to. Friendly, clean, professional and very reasonable prices! If anyone has a MINI you've GOT to upgrade the head unit--it sounds way better than I even thought it would with the factory Harmon Kardon speakers and an Alpine unit, bluetooth, USB, etc. While I was at it Jerry's crew installed a Bazooka 100w subwoofer--perfect for the MINI since you can remove it in 10 seconds if you need the room! Beautiful installation, fair price & a great crew. Now my 2200 mile drive to California should be a blast. Thanks, Showtime Audio, you are a rarity! read more

I had a remote start installed in my 2000 Jeep/Wrangler here in '09. Recently I had been having problems with the odometer flashing constantly when I used the remote start. I was then almost involved in an accident on the expressway, as a truck almost rear ended me. Came to find out that my brake lights were non functioning. I exchanged the bulbs myself and still nothing. I thought it was because of the remote start, as it kept blinking no matter what. I happened to be in the area yesterday and thought I would stop in and see if they could tell me what the problem was. It was decided that it was the brake switch that needed replacing. I went and purchased one, and that didn't solve the problem. I have to say, they could have lied, put it in and I would have never known. Jerry told me to take it back, as they were going to reconfigure some wires, as they were deteriorating. "Turtle" is the funniest guy, and kept me informed through the whole process. The customer service aspect of the whole ordeal was phenomenal, and Jerry and his crew are more than knowledgeable-the whole thing (trip to Pep Boys included) took about an hour. I will probably be getting a new car soon, and know exactly where I'm taking it to get the speakers and remote start etc put in. I am telling everyone I know about them!! read more
