We bought a car, when we went to do the finance and they told us this bank with them do the traditional bi-weekly payment and when it was time for me to set it up, that was not the case. I call the dealership and they were not helpful. I didn't have any issue with the sales but finance person lie to us. Also we told them who we work for, didn't even bother to look the discount for us. After we sign the paper, we told them we have family work for GM, they will unwilling to redo the contract. So we lost out at least $1200 out on it. The whole thing is very dishonest. The extended warranty was 2000 more then another dealership, I won't be surprise any else is too. I would not recommend them to anyone unless you want to get screw over. All they care about was sale, but not the customer. This would be the last car I would buy from them. read more

Never meet a business so disrespectful and unprofessional. As a young female, I've never been treated like that from grown men. It doesn't matter who comes in, they should be treated equally. I also wanna add that I waited two and half hours after I was told it would take one and a half at most. I understand things take a long time, however I don't understand how professionals can't find the problem. Shotenkirk told me that my rim was bent and that it created a hole in my tire because of the pressure. 12 hours later, I woke up to my tire flat. Took it back in the next day, after finding out for ourselves it was the Val stem. The people where so unprofessional and continued too talk down to me, after I tried to explaining that to them. None the less, after it was done, I was told buy a worker, "I don't know where your keys are, but at least we have your bill." I HAVE A JUDGEMENT AGAINST THIS DEALERSHIP! The day of court they plead guilty to stealing $1995 from me. If they charged you for the lame extra coverage that comes with the vehicle, file a small claim at the Dallas County court house. You will win. Very high pressure sales there. Would not give me my keys back for my trade. While negotiating I asked for more for my trade, they gave me more and then added $1,995 on to the price for a warranty that on the window sticker says its included with it. I wanted to get out of there after being there for 4 hours that I would have signed anything at the time. While I was waiting for my own financing they kept asking me to finance through them and then have my place pay it off. So, when I went back they blew me off. I went and filed a small claim on them. The same day they got lawsuit the general manager (Travis Black) called me and told me "I was being a dick". He wasn't aware that I was recording the call. I'll update this after court. read more

Had no problem with our salesman he helped everything that we asked about! However finance was a scam, loan ended up being almost $4K MORE than the amount of the van. Called finance 2 times to ask questions about it and was told that's just what it is . added on all these other options and never said was an added cost or what to do to cancel them. They made it sound like a special inclusion for buying there. Took the van home and engine light came on day 2, husband hooked to computer system and had a paused code for the exhaust. Which means they cleared it knowing there was an issue. took in to have it fixed for free just had to make 2, 2 hour wait trips to get it done, Ryan and team was great! navigation system didn't work asked about the warranty to fix it was told would be covered but take it to a Chrysler shop. Called the warranty company to ask some questions before having the work done and it isn't covered--he told me I was misinformed and would have been charged-basically all their "customer care" covers is a coffee stain in the floor nothing more inside the car. Not even the 3 month free warranty would cover electronic. And this is the option you CANNOT cancel- almost $900 for a 3 month (for used cars) that's charged to ALL CUSTOMERS! after taking to the warranty company was told the other add ons could be canceled to bring the loan amount down closer to purchase price --and that should have been disclosed by the finance, they're optional to cancel if you don't want the fees. it was not I was told that's just your total when I called to ask questions. It's taken a month to get it taken off my loan. still out the money for the customer care scam that wouldn't even fix the broken navigation when I bought it. overall won't finance anything car with them and will do more research !! Now stuck with a vehicle with busted gps and still owe more than the purchase price. read more

I purchased my 2013 Camaro SS brand new - 2nd Camaro purchased from from Shottenkirk. I have never taken my car anywhere else for service. No matter whether it was an oil change or repairs needed. On Saturday, July 29th, I went in early to get an oil change and to have my turning signals fixed because they were not working - both sides. I mentioned that to the service technician who checked me in. He said they would look at them. After the oil change, that technician told me my turning signals were working. I asked "how can that be"? So, I left. As soon as I turned on to the highway, they acted up. I did not have time to go back as I had an appointment. So, today, August 9th, my car is at CarX and they fixed my turning signals. Pretty sad that a dealership could not find anything wrong with my turning signals when there was a problem! This dealership adds a $1995 "protection package" to all sales. I found a Toyota Tundra they had just traded for and called a salesman "CJ" about it. It was in the body shop getting a ding repaired so it had not been on the sales floor yet. I tried to put a deposit on the vehicle and then was told about the $1995 price increase for things I had no interest in. Nothing had been done to the vehicle yet, nothing added, and they still would not sell the vehicle to me for the price listed on their website. CJ then told me his sales manager said the price listed is below what they traded to get the truck. Sure...because everyone who has traded vehicles at a dealership knows you get more for your trade than what they sell it for later....what a load of crap. read more

My husband was almost to the dealership (2 hours away from our home) to write out a check for a truck when the salesman called and said the price had changed and the truck was now $3,000 more. This was my husband's second trip there. He had already negotiated a price. The salesman said my husband could negotiate the price again once he got there. Needless to say, my husband turned around and came home. The account manager has an aggressive attitude and the first negotiation was not pleasant. All in all a horrible experience. IF the White Gypsies had a car dealership, it would be called Shottenkirk Chevrolet. I bought a new pickup and ended up not liking it. I then traded it back to them for another new pickup. I'm not a babe in the woods and I knew it would cost me a lot. I was willing and able to suffer that. But they originally upsold me a 'customer care' package on the my first pickup and I didn't want it on the replacement. Long story short, they kept the $5K (or so). I even asked them to NOT give the money back to me, but instead DONATE it to the homeless shelter. They would not even do that!!!!! (AND IT DID NOT EVEN COST THEM ANYTHING for their so-called 'customer care' package. I believe they just made it up). I guess I am really just mad at myself for dealing with these cheap carnies. I have been reading that the Iowa Attorney General has been 'cracking down' on the sort of activity that I accuse these people of. I will be following up with them. Not sure it will do any good. Do yourself a favor and don't buy from Shottenkirk Chevrolet, a dealership is only as good as its service department and theirs is a joke. After buying from them with a 30day bumper to bumper warranty and one year extended, I experienced my vehicle having a rough idle and lunging feeling. I took it in several time for repairs, at first they would not acknowledge the issue, after a couple times of bringing it in and them saying nothing was wrong they told me to "drive it tell it goes away or gets worse". Mind you this vehicle was not drivable at this point, something was majorly off with it. The next four times I took it in (nothing had changed sense last bringing it to them) they changed the transmission fluid, replaced the torque converter, replace the transmission and reprogram the transmission, every time saying it was fixed, it was not. So after many times of bring it to them and so much time wasted I took it to another shop where it was promptly fixed (fuel pump) out of pocket. I am now told by Shottenkirk it's my problem and they did nothing wrong. To sum it up, the service department is incompetent and negligent. They do not honor warranty , and they waste your time giving the run around. Also watch out they say they give a good pre sale inspection but my vehicle needed a battery and two of the four new tires was bad on it when I originally purchased both was fixed before sale was complete. Also if you make an appointment with them and need a loaner vehicle don't count on it many of the times I was told they would have one for me, tell I showed up and they said nope we don't have one for you anymore. When all this was done they are not willing to do anything to make it right. read more

This time I was more stern telling him that I would call him if I saw anything online and asked him not to call me anymore. I called them and told them what i was looking for, spoke with Dennis the Manager, he assured me they had what i was looking for. So, i drove 30 minutes to get there only to be dissappointed in their meagar selection of vehicles. I asked to speak to the owner, and he was too busy. A while ago, I was looking for a new Chevrolet Malibu. I had asked for a white one with a black interior to test drive, which was in the lot. I was given a red one with a tan interior and navigation. The salesman took me for a test drive, instead of letting me drive it, at first. Afterwords I asked again, if I could look at one with navigation. He then asked me if I had a phone. I did come in here to purchase a car a while back and I did not favor my sales associate. I felt uncomfortable and pushed around. He then called constantly. I hated that. As I drove away, I notice the engine light was no longer on. I drove the car for a few days and the engine light was still not on. I took the car to another repair shop and they said it was okay. So whatever Shottenkirk did when they examined the car fixed it. The upshot is Shottenkirk was going to do a repair that was not necessary. I recently purchased a new car and since this was the first time I had bought a car (I inherited my first car), I was fairly nervous. My father came with me to help me navigate. Travis was the associate I worked with. He was enthusiastic and very nice, and also spoke to me about the car when we told him I was making the purchase not my father. The financing agent, Justin, was fantastic. He walked me through buying and leasing options and was very patient while explaining all the terms. My only dislike was the manager, Rashawn. He was rude to my father and I, spoke to me like a child, and was condescending. I do not expect a lot when dealing with people, but if you want me to spend thousands of dollars at your place of business, do not treat me like you're doing me some grand favor by talking to me. **update: at first I was so excited by my car that I wanted to write a review to praise this dealership. Since then though my opinion has dropped drastically. While talking about the car, Travis pointed out the window sticker stating the car came with on star services, and part of the verbiage was key Fob services. When I asked what that meant he said it was remote start. I clarified, asking if that meant my car could be started through my phone, he said yes. From that point on, he referred to the on star services as "remote start". So imagine my surprise when I got home and the on star app did not give me that option. After a week of playing phone tag with Travis i left him message saying I was concerned. Almost 2 weeks later I had no word from him. I had been searching my car majual, the onstar website, and their website. So I contacted the dealership and heard from the mamager. Only then did Travis get back to me to tell me my car did not have autostart. While I understand that what was written is what is agreed upon, it was explained to me the car had autostart which was a huge reason I picked this over other cars. I feel I was lied to and will remember this when buying my next car or talking about my experience with others. read more

Absolutely terrible service from the mechanic shop, had a motor replaced by them under warranty awhile back. After they replaced the motor they failed to mention that my catalytic converters were trashed from the previous motors issues. On top of that when they reassembled everything they left the ground cable to the motor LOOSE! The nut was only threaded on by a couple of threads which caused intermittent electrical issues until I realized what happened. Also they left all the bolts loose on my exhaust manifold which sounded terrible. Who knows what else they messed up that I haven't discovered yet. Due to this terrible experience with them I'm never buying another Chevy, which is a shame because I've always liked GM vehicles. Don't waste your time here! Go somewhere else! The only good reviews are from people who don't know any better. Not only is is terrible service but it's extremely dangerous to send a vehicle out on the road like that. read more

My sister got completely screwed over by these guys. Jade was really pushing her to get into one specific car and wouldn't show her any others. This car had a dent and the passenger mirror was shattered. They told her they would take the price down for it but they didn't. They also told her they would fix it for free. So she bought the car because it was everything she wanted on the inside. She lives 2 hours away from this dealership and they had her come back another day to fix both things. When they were finished, they had only half assed fixed the dent and the mirror was still broken and needed a different part that wouldn't be arriving till tomorrow. Again she lives 2 hours away! Also, after looking the car over there was another thing wrong on the passenger side that was not like that when she dropped it off. So now she has to find a time to go back AGAIN and get the mirror fixed and they better fix that other part. She also had a $500 off coupon she had gotten from their website that they did not factor in. If it were me I would have thrown the keys back at them and told them to give me my money back. They need to give her money back for the trouble of make her go back and forth and for not completely fixing the dent, and for the $500 off coupon. Also the wheel under the dent has gauges in it! They are an absolute joke! I have talked to other people who has never had a good experience here. Trust me. Please learn from my mistakes. Let me start by saying I love cars and I actually love car shopping. I went out to Shottenkirk Chevrolet to look at a new Bolt. I just wanted a test drive but I ended up making a mistake and purchasing a car. (never buy the deal, buy the car) The salesman was very nice they stayed late and worked hard to get us out in a hurry. I did fall for the negotiating by payment rather than by price, and I knew better, but thats on me. Just watch out for that. That was Wednesday at 9 PM. On Monday I tried to get ahold of my salesman to tell him that this just wasn't the car for me. He did not reply. I sent a 2nd email with no reply on Tuesday. I called and was sent to voice mail. The next day, Wednesday, he did return an email to me. I explained that after 6 days I needed to return this car (I originally tried Monday) he said sorry nothing he could do they have a 3 day 150-mile return policy. He did say they could buy it back, remember this is not even 7 days later, but that it would be a substantially low offer and a big loss for me. I was crushed, I felt I was ripped off so bad and overpaid obviously, and my salesman Cole, was your stereotypical car salesman, only out to make a buck, and do not care about word of mouth or repeat sales. . He did explain that the new incentives really lowered the price of the car. I am not sure why he didn't tell me that night, that 1) I could return it in 3 days if unsatisfied, and 2) that new incentives were coming out in the next couple of days. I tried any kind of deal, trade for a used car, trade for any different car, but he just kept reminding me that my 6-day old car was now not worth much, (because they overcharged me). My last car buying experience from Jaguar was so awesome, that I was over trusting this time. I was trusting that my dealer would take care of me and put me in a good deal in a good car and make sure I was satisfied and that I would want o come back and buy another car.
