Service was friendly but their provided services, like many auto body shops, are a sad scam. I was quoted $215 for a new cabin filter. I purchased a filter online for $8 and removed ONE single screw to replace the filter. Shameless doesn't begin to describe it. read more

I was super impressed with my first time at Acheson. It felt like your average family owned business. Greeted when you walk in the door and they don't make you feel like you're just a number like at a quick lube place. The prices were more than reasonable and they did a fantastic job on my 1987 Mustang. I do not trust a lot of people with my cars if that is telling you anything. They even have a system that sends you a pic of your car and what is being done.Only way that could be any better is if it told you the price but that may not be possible. Either way I will definitely recommend them to others and be back if something is too difficult for me to tackle. read more

We were recommended by a Jeep Club to go here to have our Jeep Wrangler frame checked after we were hit by a car. We called to asked if they had time today to look at it and they got us in immediately. They didn't think the frame was bent and brought my husband and I into the shop area to show us how they came to that conclusion. Their shop was immaculate and their customer area was roomy, clean and nice. We needed our tow bar looked at also and they recommended a locally owned place to have that checked out. While driving from Colorado we suffered a busted water pump in Clive Iowa. We used yelp and found Acheson auto works on university Blvd. We explained our situation to "Tim" at Acheson and he told us to come in. Upon arrival we met Tim and were told to wait in the waiting area after giving our information. Within 15 minutes Tim send us an email which explained the situation with the car and the remedy. He then personally told us what to expect and how much the repairs would be. We were very happy that the personnel at Acheson were able to fix our car within a short time frame considering we needed a water pump. I personally have never in all my years of dealing with auto repair facilities dealt with a group of individuals that not only took care of our vehicle but took care of us personally . I am more than pleased with Acheson Auto. I recently had my check engine light come on in my Jeep Grand Cherokee, with some transmission errors codes, so I took it to Stew Hansen (a Jeep dealer) because I figured they would know how to fix it. Stew Hansen called back and said $850 of repairs would have me running again. Three hours later, they called back with "bad news" and said my transmission needed to be rebuilt or replaced, which they didn't know until AFTER the $850 of repairs. Stew Hansen quoted this "up to $5,000." They then gave me an offer to trade in my Jeep for $1,000 (worth $9,000). I'm glad I didn't believe Stew Hansen, because I had my Jeep towed to Acheson the following day and Acheson gave me extremely GOOD news. Not only did I not need a new transmission, but my transmission was actually operating smoothly! I was several quarts low on fluids and a new part needed to be programmed, but ultimately my Jeep is in good shape. Total cost = $200. Thank you Acheson Auto! Update: my Jeep is still running smoothly 9 months later, with no issues at all. read more

I had a horrible experience at Acheson' s. I took my Tahoe in to get bodywork done. After picking up my vehicle I noticed my windshield cowl was cracked. Then later one of my taillights went out, when I went to remove I noticed the bracket that held it on was broken and that they had drilled a hole in the body to attach it back on. :( Sure enough they did the same thing to the other side instead of removing the rubber cap to expose the screws they apparently ripped off both tail lights :(. I tried returning to get these items restored but the owner took no responsibility. I also had to take my door somewhere else because the paint cracked right away and was not aligned properly....very shoddy repair place! Definitely look elsewhere for your auto repairs! read more

Acheson is an honest place with a home town feel. The customer service is always great and the staff is pleasant to deal with. They have passed up the chance more than once to sell me things I didn't need, and people I talk to agree that they are trustworthy. The main reason for 4/5 stars is that their prices are generally agreed to be a bit higher, but you get what you pay for. I'd rather pay a bit more for great service and honesty than pay for cheaper brakes I didn't need in the first place! read more

I have been going to Acheson since I got my first car. My parents have been going here for 30 plus years. I swore I would never go back after terrible customer service. They backed my car up into a pole after it was being service. While they offered to fix it, they didn't offer me a loaner. I have changed my mind after the owner personally called me to apologize for the poor customer service. I very much appreciated his prompt call and his wish to make it right. Acheson went the extra mile to take care of me and my family. I will continue to go to Acheson and recommend Acheson to others for their great customer service. read more

In 44 years of my life this was the worst experience i ever had from a shop !Midas would come in second worse.I would've sued this guy big time if my emails (proof ) did'nt get deleted.Acheson painted the vehicle without even doing body work , skimped in any thing he could , I told him to paint it grey , he painted it silver , also on a previous job he was supposed to fix a oil leak , its still leaking , Acheson refuses to take responsibility and settle the matter fairly .I paid him almost $3000 total for body work paint & oil leak fix , I requested only half of my money back being nice about it .
