Place is usually full. Ok food at good prices. There issue is the way they organize to go orders. Call in orders get priority even if you are there and get it to go. Waited 25-30 mins there, while 2 call in orders that were just placed 10-15 mins before hand walked out with there food. Very small cooking area makes wait time longs either way. Owner is friendly, rest of staff is not. My suggestion: call in your order! read more

Great customer service! Walked into the restaurant and was immediately greeted by the host. They were nice enough to make substitutes for some of my items which was great! It was very clean and comfortable to dine at. This place is great for families and students who need a break to grab some good food and relax. I haven't had much of their food yet but the sausage and eggs were pretty decent tasting and serving size was good. It would have been a big plus if eggs were a little fluffier but other than that, I was satisfied. read more

I like that theirs a place in town that you know has the NHL Chanel on while you wait for your food. I love hockey so that's a huge bonus not to mention that the food is really good and well priced. This place is clean and the staff is friendly and not obnoxious. The owner is a Kings fan and not a jerk about it which is great because I do not care for the Kings. This is a pretty good breakfast place and the price was pretty good for quality. I like the how fluffy the pancakes are. The people here are friendly. So good!!! We were staying at a local hotel and we slept thru breakfast there. We like to seek out the small local spots, and fellow Yelpers totally steered us right! We had breakfast burritos and chocolate chip pancakes. Burritos were a good size, but the star was totally the salsa that came with. So full of flavor but not spicy. Shorty'z is one of those typical Mom and Pop burger joints. Definitely better than most. The place was humming on a Saturday at lunch time. I opted for the ortega chili and swiss burger while David got the mushroom swiss. Nice that they give you a choice of fries, onion rings or fried zucchini with a combo. I liked the zucchini though the fries could have been done a little more. Both burgers came dressed with lettuce, a thick slice of tomato, onions and pickle. The toppings were good, but they dominated, especially the thick slice of tomato. I really prefer minimal toppings on an ortega chili or mushroom swiss burger, otherwise the chili and mushrooms get lost. But all in all a good visit. Breakfast menu looks good too. Shorty'z is like a nice "hole-in-the-wall" place for breakfast - lunch. Chocolate chip pancakes were good, breakfast burritos are delicious, but their pastrami is too salty for my taste. Came to Shorty'z based off the reviews and my wife and I were in the area. I have to start by saying that the service of how quickly the food came out was outstanding. I wish there was a way to give half stars but unfortunately there isn't. Here's the deal, if you're looking for a quick breakfast place that's inexpensive then this is your place. You do get what you pay for though when it comes to certain items. The bacon is pre-cooked sitting in a pan, the eggs and hash browns where a little under done. The best part were the pancakes. Everything just seemed to lack seasoning and I think what you gain in the speed of delivery for food, you sacrifice in the quality. I'm a big believer in you get what you pay for and good things come to those who wait. I would have been completely happy waiting just 2 more minutes to be blown away. I think it has potential to have been better but for the food I got, I wasn't that impressed. read more

This place is great. I used to be a fan of the Golden Ox that used to be located here, so I was skeptical of what this place was going to be like. Turned out that they have a similar menu with similar prices...and much better in terms of cleanliness and service. Food is much better. Pretty much anything on the menu is good, from burgers to pancakes. If you're not sure what to get, get the special for that day. This place is good from breakfast to dinner. Signature items here are signature for a reason. They're awesome. My favorite is definitely the Truman Fries if you don't care about your health anymore. It's grossly delicious. Other must try items are the zucchini fries and breakfast burritos, IMO. read more

Interesting place. Went in because the reviews were amazing and we were on our way back home from disneyland. Not what I was expecting as we were looking for a sit down restaurant. But after standing in line to order it did take on the feel of a sit down place, with staff coming around offering coffee and taking care of any needs. I got the breakfast burrito, the only complaint I have is, I would have liked some more cheese on it. I expected larger portions. It was literally a little pile of eggs a little pile of potato etc. The coffee mug never went empty though and I can appreciate that for sure! I lost count and ended up drinking like 5 cups haha felt it later though LOL service was great on that note. I would like a little more food for the money though :) read more

Great neighborhood burger joint. I love to bring my family here while shopping and taking music lessons in the same mall. Everything is reasonable and the portion is generous.
