We went to Shorty's yesterday around 6:30pm and it was a Monday so it was pretty quiet. There's tons of seating both inside and outside on their patio which was nice. We started inside and our server was nice enough to let us move outside. There's a couple of fire pits which were lovely and really added to the ambiance. We ordered quite a few things. Their strawberry mock-Arita was both reasonably priced and pretty good. The wings were decent and the onion ring tower was crispy and fun to see. I thought the Mac and cheese and the teriyaki bowl were decent. My friend asked for no cheese on her cali chicken and it took time three times to get it right but they were really apologetic about it and took it off the tab. I went with the City Girls Who Walk and we all shared a bunch of the new shareables on the menu. We ordered the pizza box loaded fries which were so good, I love how crispy the fries were! SERVICE: Parking was ok for the area. Found a lot that was about a 10-min walk and reasonably priced - gold lot or something like that. Stopped past on our way to the museum. I've seen this place on social media and it looked like a lot of fun. Waiter was great, restrooms were clean, and easily found a table. Sat outside which has its pros and cons. I'm not a smoker so it sucks to pick up a swift of someone walking or standing nearby. None-the-less, the spot is cool. FOOD: I disliked my cheese sauce that came with the pretzel bites. What a fun place. Came here with a group and really enjoyed the evening. We had space sectioned off for just us, and it was a great time. We played the duckpin bowling (I'm terrible but it was fun anyway), and I enjoyed quite a few rounds of pinball! The Mexican fare we had was tasty, and I may have spent too much time eating instead of really socializing with friends. I would highly recommend coming here with a group to take advantage of the bowling. But if you're into good pinball, you'll be in for a real treat too! read more

The outdoors seating has fire pits which make it super fun and cozy. They've got a full bar as well as tons of tables...great spot for groups! They have games like pinball, shuffleboard, fuse ball and lanes for duck pin bowling. The food and drink selections are great. I had the Rock Me Baby for my drink- it is vanilla vodka, passion fruit syrup, lime juice and perfect bubbly prosecco! It is served in a coop glass with the cutest little rubber duck! They recently got a new food menu that is so good! I tried the pizza box nachos which are perfect for sharing. It is house made corn tortilla chips, chili cheese sauce, pickled jalapenos, Pico de Gallo and sour cream! It is the perfect appetizer and the fact it comes in a pizza box makes it so fun! Tried the cheesesteak Sammie, which was shaved ribeye, charred peppers & onions, cheese sauce on a hoagie roll, this comes with beer battered fries. The meat on this sandwich was so flavorful! Went here last night 10 degrees outside and the heaters were not on! Pretty sure it was 40 degrees inside and they kept the side door to the tent wide open! Strong breeze coming in. Everyone wore coats inside. Music was super loud, couldn't talk/hear. Took a while for server to come. She was nice. Menus hard to find. Pizza box nachos were good. Ordered Grilled Teriyaki bowls, all came cold and rice was hard (undercooked). Salmon was tasty but dry. Kids enjoyed the duck pin bowling. Couldn't wait to get to the car and put on the heat! Were all of the overhead heaters broken at the same time? I can't exclaim enough how happy I am that there's a place that offers some kind of entertainment in PGH other than the usual bar scene . I came here with a group of friends on a Saturday night and considering how busy they were , we all got served within minutes and was able to bowl (duck pins) within a half hour . Everything was so much fun! The duck pins were great and kept us entertained for some time . We then went outside where they had fire pits with an oversized jenga, which we indulged in. We finished the night by coming in and taking a group photo in their Photo Booth which created a ton of laughs ! Because of the amount of people it was hard to be exact. Nice bar seating that can hold a pretty decent crowd. Lots of variety when it comes to drinks & beer. I was hoping for more variety in that area as I was not quite in a mood for tacos (Maybe a good place for a Taco Tuesday tho :) Ir was only because of the food selection that I rendered 4 stars. I'd never been duck bowling before abs I'm not a huge fan of what the stings do, but tho the very small ball and/or large spacing between the tiny pins made suck bowling difficult, it was a lot of fun. The food, on the other hand, left much to be desired. The tacos were bland and cold and portion sizes were pretty small. Came here for a Friday night date with my husband. I had read about this place and was super excited to come as I love duckpin bowling. While I enjoyed my drink, my husband thought the flavoring in his was too strong and didn't taste like grapefruit. He tried to water it down with more soda water but still found it undrinkable. The baller box is a sampling of every taco + all the dips. The queso was the highlight of the box, and was the only thing we finished. The tacos were just okay, and the rest of the dips were unremarkable. The greatest offense was the cost of the bowling - for a weekend night, it's $20/person per hour. Compared to Coop De Ville, which is $7/game, it seemed like a ridiculous price to pay so we passed. To end on a positive note - our server was absolutely wonderful and was the highlight of our night out. Brand new addition to Pittsburgh's North Shore! I was able to check out Shorty's Pins and Pints only a few days after their grand opening. My first impression was that the staff was kind, energetic, and accommodating. When we entered, we felt a bit lost, but an employee came over immediately and gave us the "run down". He explained everything from how to access pinball machines to how to obtain a drink from the bar. I loved that they had two bars; they also had a nice selections of beers and ciders on draft. We ordered the nachos, which came in a pizza box, to snack on while we had a drink and played a few games. I was a bit disappointed in the nachos. They were $20 and severely lacked toppings. We were left quite hungry after finishing the entire box! I would definitely grab food somewhere else before coming back. The games were fun, but duck pin bowling was expensive. It was $20/per person per hour. We avoiding duck pin bowling for that reason and decided to try out the pinball and arcade games. So, as long as you weren't eating the chips alone, the seasoning was at an appropriate level. I had the la flama blanca cocktail and it was delicious. The perfect amount of coconut, lime, and spice. We thought the $5 Sam seasonal pints were a great price, considering the location of the establishment. Most north shore bars charge a few dollars more. They had plenty of tvs and the surround sound was good. The bathrooms were clean and stocked with soap and paper towels.
