I was surprised because I have brought them previously a car and sent them a lot of work over the years. So let me tell you about the LONG HAUL on your vehicle if you bring it here to Vogels. I would know about long term on a vehicle from them because they did a Job for me in 2015 on my 97 Camaro. This place is decent place to bring your vehicle if you need something fix short term but long term not worth it to ME. To others they are worth it but they don't restore cars really just fix them. I brought these guys my 97 Camaro back in 2015. Let me tell you what it WASN'T worth the price they charged me 6500-7k and or it felt like I was getting harassed by the owner about paying them. Normally you pay for a job when it's finished but he was eager to collect some before starting it and during before he finished the Camaro. I had to pay before they finished which felt like I was being scammed but I was in a tight pinch and had to get it done. After finally paying them in full they finished it up and said we will detail it up nice for you but the rushed they detail guy and I had wax all over the Camaro. Even the detail guy complained about being rushed. I even mentioned the green paint I could still see but they didn't fix it or nothing. I was super bummed about this but I was still happy to get my 97 Camaro back on the road and drive it. Mind you this 97 Camaro sat after it got "restored"from Vogels. Nothing wrong with it but all the imperfections they left, all the chipped and cracked paint I found and the green paint from the donor parts they used to fix it that you could still see in areas. The Camaro wasn't very professional done at all and the service I got from them especially from the owner himself was good and all till the demanded payment. Then it felt like a scam and it felt like I was being harassed. Now 10 years later I have to repay someone to fix all those paint chips, all the cracked panels and a lot more. So in my opinion it's not worth it because 10 years later and 6500 bucks wasted to repay another person. About the same or more to make it look brand new even better then show room quality they said just like Vogel's promised me but Vogels couldn't handle it. Edit : So after I posted this because I got a phone call at 11:17 from there Shop manager or whatever he is there. His name was Eric. He called me asked me why I would leave a negative review because they refused to take a quote from me earlier today? Then proceeded to say I called them because I had an insurance quote done and I wanted them to add more on? WTF? How is that possible when my accident just happen at 9:33 am. So how did I have time to get a quote and call you to ask you to change that quote? So now I'm more annoyed because they tried to call me out on something I didn't even say. All I said was "can I get an estimate done today for an insurance quote". He then proceeded to tell me IDK why you're posting your Camaro now. It's been 10 years and we didn't harass you. He said "we have to get some up front or all especially when it's not an insurance quote because we gotta pay outta packet for materials"? Really? You have to pay for materials? Wow that's crazy. What about regular mechanics or other shops? They don't ask up front for any money. However I was fine putting a down payment down back then. It was the owner calling me demanding money from me time and time again multiple times and said he couldn't fix it till I did. That sounds like harassment to me. Their excuse was "well sometimes people have us fix it but then not come back at all after we finish". I said "not my fault don't judge a book by its cover. You guys are judging people and will only work on cars with insurance claims unless they are GUARANTEED the money before they finish the vehicle". 1

I've brought my car back to them twice in the past two weeks to fix it and now they are saying my car had a different issue and are refusing to give me a refund for misdiagnosing the issue and causing me trouble. Now I have to take my car somewhere else and pay even more money to get it fixed. They also inspected my car but I will have it inspected again elsewhere because I do not trust the quality of this auto shop. Save your money!!!

We have been using this mechanic for a couple of years now and have always been happy with Jon and…read morehis work. We own a Kia Soul and a Volkswagen EOS. Jon has a knack for knowing what's up with our vehicles off the smallest clue which is pretty cool. My Kia had an ongoing issue that stumped a few other mechanics and he immediately knew what the issue was and fixed it. He's also proven to be honest with what our vehicles need and what maintenance/repairs can wait. Prices are very fair and Jon will go through an itemized list of every cost of repair over the phone with you before doing any work. Our vehicles are always done on time and a loaner is provided when needed which is convenient. Him and his staff are also super nice and personable - always a plus I absolutely recommend this mechanic.

He wanted to wait until he got a check so it took me 1 week to get him a check for over $900. About a week and a half after that I had a bit of difficulty getting ahold of Jon so get an update on my car but I did eventually get ahold of him and he gave me an estimate for when my car would be ready. Those days passed & I didn't get my car back when he said I'd have it back by. 3 weeks after he got my car & 2 weeks after he was basically paid in full I told him if my car was not done that day then I wanted to cancel the oil change & wiper blades replacement (he didn't cancel it & charged me more than what he told me). He offered me a loaner vehicle so I waked 2 miles to pick up the loaner vehicle & it was a nice gesture but the van was pretty dirty even having rubbish in it & the gas light was already on like it was past E. So then I finally got a call 4 weeks & 4 days after he got my vehicle & 3 weeks after he was paid over $900 saying my car was ready. I gave him his van back with more gas then he gave me. My driver side door had a big scuff on it which he wiped off with a rag. He charged me for the oil change & wiper blades that I told him I was canceling $57. He told me the wiper blades were $8 each but charged me $10.99 each. And on the way home I got grease all over my hands because he didn't bother wiping off the steering wheel. I asked him why it took so long & he said he wasn't busy when he got my car but then got slammed after he was basically paid in full. He was paid & had my car for 3 more weeks after being paid over $900 so I guess paying in advance doesn't make it a priority. Other than that Jon seems like a nice guy but idk if I'd use him again. Their motto is "home if the honest mechanic" but I didn't find him to be upfront about it having to take so long or why it took so long & I got no apology for it taking more than 4 weeks or no thank you for my patience. Honestly I think he messed something up & it took him a lot more time to fix his mistake but who knows. What I do know is I've never had a mechanic hold my car for 1 week let alone 4 freaking weeks! Calling people all over Roc and in the more rural areas, everyone either had no clue as to what was going on and was trying to sell me stuff, or they did not even want to take a look. Talking with the guy on the phone, he was immediately concerned about my situation and car and had me drop by so he could take a look. He did not have to, but he gave his time to take a OBD2 reading of my car and a visual inspection of it. He let me know the info I was given was false. Although, he did not have time to do a repair, he also advised that I should watch out for scamming mechanics and if I ever need a second opinion, to call him. He was super concerned and did not want to see me get taken advantage of by other mechanics and their shops. People like this don't exist in NY and it's amazing to see an honest person provide input and support!
