Donna our guide was fantastic. We went snorkeling at night. It was scary at first, but Donna kept us safe and oriented. She pointed out things we would have missed like shrimp and eels. We saw a reef shark and a turtle. This was the highlight of our trip to Maui.

This was the highlight of our Maui trip! Our guide Joey completely put us at ease and despite being terrified first time snorkelers and non-swimmers, we were venturing out from the shores of Kapalua bay and into the ocean in no time. A must do for even non swimmers! Since we were both terrified of the ocean, Joey started us out in full gear - wet suits, fins, snorkels, pool noodles and other floatation devices. My partner who had never floated in his life and thought will just stay on the beach and watch was swimming and having fun in the ocean in the first 10 minutes itself. This was a huge achievement for him! By the end, Joey had me swimming freestyle on my own without the aid of even a pool noodle. He taught me how to kick to move faster and how to use my arms to turn and so much more. We felt like we got a free swimming lesson! It was amazing finding a whole other world of sea turtles, urchins, coral reefs and shoals of fish underneath. Joey was so kind and encouraging - he not only made the entire 1 on 1 tour fun but also educational. We learnt a lot about the hunting, eating and sleeping patterns of the various sea life which made it all even more fascinating! Sadly I only have crappy pictures to show for it. (Lesson learnt: take a good camera for your underwater adventures here!).

I highly recommend going with this company! We looked at doing a group snorkel which ranged from 4-6 hours long with a huge group. But my BF decided to call this place instead. I'm glad he did! We had a wonderful experience with Westin our guide on our private snorkeling tour for an hour. It was much better and felt more intimate rather than going on a huge boat tour. Westin picked us from our hotel and drove us to the beach. He was incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He gave us a few choices on location depending on what we wanted to see and how experienced we were. He took us to a great location. Once there he walked us down to the shore to check out the water to see if this is where we wanted to snorkel. Then we went back to the van to get fitted with our gear. He explained how the masks should fit and how to adjust it in the water when it gets loose. I'm not the best swimmer so he provided me with a fun noodle to stay afloat and he will carry for you if you decide you don't need it anymore in the water. He also has a waterproof camera, and he was able to capture some amazing shots. He dove down to take up close photos of the sea life and he captured great photos of my bf and I. He air dropped the photos onto our phone as soon as the tour was over. We didn't have to wait to get our photos. It was the best experience! I highly recommend this company to anyone wanting to go snorkeling in Maui. Westin was an excellent guide with tons of knowledge and experience. He's a certified scuba instructor and gave us great information. I would use this company again when we come back to Maui!

Spike was our guide and he was great!! This was our first attempt at snorkeling and it was a great experience. My son was weary of going out but Spike assured him he would take good care of him and he did.

This is one of the best Snorkeling trip I had in my three trips to Hawaii. Weston knows his stuff really well and very friendly in setting up the entire session. He knows some of the beet local places where I saw at-least 6 different turtles in span of one hour. Considering I don't know swimming well, he made is very easy for me so that I focus on viewing the coral, fishes and turtles. I highly recommend this tour !! As a bonus, he also shares 60+ pictures instantly to me after the trip. He also gave me snorkel gears at extremely reasonable price. Great tour and awesome experience. I am already planning to do one more trip again with him. Cheers

    Shoreline Snorkel was amazing!

What a wonderful experience. William was our guide...he picked us up at our resort and drove us to the best Snorkel spot. We must of seen 20 sea turtles. He explained to us what kinds of fish were swimming about and even dove down to collect some awesome seashells for us to keep! He was knowledgeable and very friendly. He even recommended some fun food spots for us to try. This is definitely worth the cost and I would do it again in a heart beat.

This was an absolutely phenomenal experience. We are on our honeymoon and I am terrified of the water. My husband and I both wanted to try snorkeling and see the Sea Turtles. Shoreline Snorkel helped us achieve both. I can NOT swim, but our guide Weston made me feel comfortable enough to go out. He stayed with me the whole time and we got to see the turtles!!! This was an amazing experience and we cannot recommend them more highly.

Weston took us to unmarked lava tubes and some great historical places along the road we would have missed.

Originally we…read morewere supposed to stay in Lahaina, but because of the rebuilding of the area, we stayed a little further south. I wish I did stay in the area because the whole area is a vibe. It's a little more touristy with resorts and shopping areas, but once you get on the beach you forget all that. Some of our group was already here and gave us specific instructions on where to park. We parked in a paid parking garage and had to walk between hotels to find the entrance to the beach. This particular stretch is in front of the Sheraton Maui Resort. This beach was awesome! Don't get confused like I did and think this was a black sand beach. Black Rock refers to the giant black lava rock going from the beach into the ocean. It's a very popular cliff diving area. In my opinion, you got to have some athletic ability to do the cliff diving. There's two ways to get to the peak of the rock to jump. There's a path from the shore, but you have to do a little climbing with a very sketch path to the top. The other option is to swim in the ocean towards the end of the rock where you have a little ladder to get you up, but you still have to get to the top of the rock. My friends and I decided to do the swim out which in itself was a challenge. One I got close, I decided to be the photographer in the water for when my friends jumped. We hung out in the water for awhile before swimming back to shore. The beach is perfect for lounging around, with soft white sand and crystal clear water. I brought my snorkel and goggles to really appreciate what's under the sea. We stayed out here way longer than we planned because time flies when you are having fun. On my next trip to Maui, I would totally consider staying right on this beach. I will most definitely be back!

And occasionally, a Hawaiian monk seal that comes up to bask in the sun during the day. Tourists here are the worst though! I have seen them crowding the turtles (10 ft distance is the law), standing on the swimming turtles to treat them like surf boards, and even approaching the monk seals or blocking their path back to the water (50+ ft is the law). Enjoy this beach responsibly and respect the beautiful wild life that frequent this beach.

    Sea Maui - Memorable sunsets

On our vacation to Maui last week, we took trips out to the sea with Sea Maui twice. Our first trip…read moreout was an adults-only family excursion while the kids hung out with their grandma and auntie. The catamaran was pretty sweet, with some really comfy bean bags overlooking the edge out to the ocean. While we did occasionally get splashed in this area, it was worth the unobstructed view of the sunset and the breeze in my hair. The crew was especially sweet and treated all of us like absolute royalty. A note to those who are prone to motion sickness: do not try to be brave and only wear sea bands thinking you'll be okay. Take your Dramamine an hour before you board the catamaran. While the first half of our dinner cruise was fine with my motion sickness, the second half of the trip left me feeling really queasy around dinner service time. This made me very sad. This was no fault of the crew, and 100% my fault for thinking I could tough it out. If you are ill-prepared, the crew has ginger ale, club soda and ginger chews to help. Speaking of dinner, the few bites I was able to eat on our first trip were fantastic: a full dinner buffet prepared by Cafe Jai. The salmon was perfectly tender, as was the short rib. The caesar salad was just the right amount of tangy (and the extra dressing was really great on the salmon as well.) I'm not sure what kind of sauce was on the crispy seasoned potatoes but they were absolutely delightful. And of course, the crown on top of a delicious meal was the mini brownie cup we were served for dessert before we wrapped up the trip. Our second trip (where I was prepared with some Dramamine) was a memorial for our grandparents, where we released their cremains at sea with eco-urns. I must say that the crew handled everything wonderfully. We had the full bar, another beautiful buffet spread including some delicious crispy chicken, a pesto pasta salad, pulled beef sliders, and rolls. After we said our emotional goodbyes, we were given rose petals to release into the ocean. We even received certificates after the trip that gave us the coordinates of where my grandparents cremains were released. I seriously cannot thank Sea Maui enough for giving my family a truly memorable experience on our trip to Maui. They made our trip so special. A million thanks for the kindness!

The Irish gentleman who pre-briefed us before leaving for the tour had a great sense of humor and set the tone for our excursion. Once aboard, the Captain and his crew were polite, cordial, fun loving and efficient. The food was great and the crew busied theirselves insuring everyone was comfortable, had drinks and the proper snorkeling gear. We saw many, many whales and at least 12 displays of whales big and small leaping out of the water. The hour long snorkeling provided the passengers with a myriad of tropical fish and sea turtles. We even had one try to climb the ladder into the boat. The fees for the excursion were fair and we definitely got our moneys worth for all we saw and participated in. I highly recommend The Sea Maui if you are looking for a great experience for you and your family or tour group.
