I'm signing my 5th lease and 4th renewal, and that alone says everything -- I absolutely love living here. What truly makes this place special is the current management and maintenance team. From day one, they've made me feel genuinely welcomed. Maintenance is consistently on top of even the smallest requests -- often resolving them the same day, which is rare these days. I had one ongoing issue that was quickly and completely resolved by the new maintenance manager, Jorge, and his team. I couldn't be happier with how it was handled. Even my dog gets excited when we walk through the lobby -- and that says a lot. From security and concierge to maintenance and the leasing office, everyone is a joy to see every day. The resident appreciation events are a great touch, the building is always immaculately clean, and the views are absolutely gorgeous. Luxury prices and cheap material. Appliances and apartments are cheaply made, this are always breaking, there are always issues, it took them over a year to wash the windows on this building, than those who had balconies did not get window wash for another 2 week after. There is still blue tarp around the balconies that been their for over 1.5 years because of the balconies crumbling. The staff does not address it and acts like they are doing the people who live there a favor. Its ugly and no other "luxury" building in the area has tarp on the balconies. read more

We've lived at Shoreline Gateway for almost a year now, and overall it's been a great experience. We love the location and amenities. Anytime we've had an issue, maintenance and/or the office staff have handled it quickly and professionally. A huge shoutout to Jose, the concierge -- he's easily one of the highlights of living here. He always goes above and beyond, whether it's helping with local recommendations, tracking down the occasional misplaced shipment, or simply recognizing our regular guests. That kind of personal yet professional touch really makes a difference. My only criticism is directed toward tenant communication. There's a tendency for management to over-communicate the small things (like coffee maker updates, unrelated floor work, or meeting room notices) but stay quiet on the bigger issues (I.e., 2nd level basement security gate being down for over a month, the windows still not being cleaned since we moved in November 2024 or the explanation for or yet to be repaired, blue netting covering the balconies). Despite that, we genuinely enjoy living here and hope management can fine-tune their communication to match the otherwise high standard of the building and professional staff. read more

Wow. I wanted to share my experience during a recent review of apartments at Shoreline. Some of the best customer service received during an apartment search. We toured several apartments with Jeffery, who was well-versed in its history, culture and commitment to the residents. As we were walk-ins, he took time to understand our needs and showed us some outstanding apartments that exceeded our expectations! This community, located right across the street from the beach, is excellent. This place has some of the best amenities of any place we toured. Mobile, onsite car detailing, state-of-the-art gym facilities, fantastic lounge/community center, and epic resident gatherings are among the many perks that residents get here...even down to the cold brew La Colombe coffee on tap, lol. There is a sushi joint, a restaurant (Egg Bred), and many other great options to indulge in here, not to mention amazing...and I mean amazing views of the beach. Was looking for a luxury place to move to after selling my house, came and was greeted towards the amazing property, beautiful amenities, beautiful rooms, beautiful views. Unfortunately the staff does not stand up to that. The staff is like dealing with a bunch of high school students where various emails going back-and-forth and even being told that we would be refunded the deposit we were not. Because one person tells us one person doesn't, I recommend to the managers of this building if you're gonna have a classy high end building, you need to have high end people with intelligence to be able to deal with the corporate, highly educated world, especially with these prices these are the clients that you will be entertaining. read more

I have lived at Shoreline Gateway since 2021, I was one of the first residents to live here and it was so great to have the gym, the pool, the lounge all to yourself. Now the building is quite full with an eccentric mix of people but usually everyone is friendly in the elevators. They host a lot of resident events with food and drinks which gives you a chance to mingle. And of course the obvious perk, the views are unmatched and wherever I live next will not compare. Since I've lived here the building has been through 3-4 different managements, and before I had nothing but complaints about them. However ever since the new manager Ellie took over things have been much better here! She really knows what she's doing and on top of that she is so sweet, an overall ray of sunshine. :) She has made Shoreline a much more pleasant place to live and for that I am so grateful. The only complaint I have is the lack of guest parking for paying such a high price you would think parking would be included. I've had 2 occasions where my friends cars got towed outside which is really unfortunate and it was around $400 each time. However despite that I still highly recommend Shoreline to anyone looking to move to Long Beach. read more

I highly recommend moving here! I have been a resident here almost going on 2 years. We are in the move out process because of a job relocation out of state but if it wasn't for that, we would not be leaving. Ellie the community manager, Rose the assistant manager, and all of the shoreline team have been wonderful to work with. Whenever we had questions or concerns they would always get back to us and never seemed bothered when we would check in for anything. Even though we are moving out, Ellie and Rose have been kind and supportive throughout the process. During my time living here, the staff at the front desk (mix of leasing team and security / concierge) have have always been great about holding our packages when Amazon dropped them off there, handling our delivery orders from delivery apps to our floor, and helping when we had friends stop by but couldn't get down to them in the moment. Overall the convenience was the most appealing thing about living here (aside from the apt itself). This is my hometown so if I end up coming back after from living out of state, I will 100% return to Shoreline Gateway. Also a huge shout out to the maintenance team. They're always quick to visit our apartment whenever a request is put in. Usually, within 24 hours or sometimes the same day on the rare occasions we needed help with our washer or oven. read more

Circling back after 6 months from my previous review. I've seen Shoreline Gateway fill up to about 90% or more in unit rentals so lots of differing experiences will be the result of this growth. Instead of discrediting or discounting the reviews of others, I will offer that Shoreline Gateway (still under the management of Greystar) is a very pleasant, refreshing, and professional place to live. Going into my second year living here, there are policies in place that are due to keeping the general tenants happy and maintaining the luxury aspects of the building. Moved to Shoreline about a month ago and absolutely love it! We toured with Dwyane and had a great experience. He was patient and always responded promptly. Throughout the application/move in process, we worked mostly with Eldon. Eldon provided exceptional service and is always so friendly/helpful every time I go to the lobby. Do not move into this place! If you are looking for a smoke free apartment this is not the place. This place is not for family's because the whole building smells like weed. The elevator, common areas and our whole apartment floor smelled like weed every day. We constantly had to contact the management team. They would put up signs and send emails out but they could not stop the issues. I spoke to many tenants that were having the same issue. Management became rude, they stop answering our emails and would not take our calls. Do NOT move into this place! read more

Living at Shoreline Gateway has been an amazing experience thus far. I'm entering month 5 and am enjoying my unit, the building amenities, and the friendly staff. From Eldon our leasing agent (who made our move-in seamless and as stress free as it can be) to Ellie the building manager (who is engaging and personally involved more than any manager I've experienced in a property this size), the entire office group is attentive and helpful. Dwyane and Rose are my "go to" people for building technology and event questions--of which I have many. The security staff is friendly and welcoming. Robert leads the team in a way that is professional, yet makes time to learn about the residents. My dog always stops at the front desk for her daily treat. Robert, Dell, and the group make you feel at home--calling you by name, remembering your floor, it all makes a difference. The two small repairs I needed were completed quickly by the maintenance team. Whenever you walk around the building you see staff members working to keep our building clean and maintained. There's a sense of pride by the team here. I look forward to continuing to enjoy all Shoreline has to offer. read more

I have lived at the Shoreline with my pup for about four months. I love the location and offerings nearby. The pool area has a great view and is well maintained. Neighbors are generally quiet, which is a BIG deal for me. What I like the most is the office staff. Eldon and Dwayne are so helpful! Love them. The concierge staff is always great. A couple gripes: the trash shoots which it not closed on other floors, won't work for others. And the dog area should be included for free. Check them out! Overall, I love it. read more

Don't move here unless you are an avid smoker. The whole building smells like smoke and weed constantly. They promote the building as a smoke free environment but that couldn't be further from the truth. We moved in while it was still pretty empty and as soon as it started filling up with tenants it got out of control. We told the office and they did little to nothing about it. Live here for a year and a half and just about to move out. Initially this place was a hot mess. Next level hot mess. However, after Greystar took over a complete turn around. The office staff is on it. Responsive, supportive and respectfully managing this building to improve the quality of life for everyone. Biggest shout out to the security staff. James in the day shift is the sweetest and always has my back inside and out. Very kind, respectful and always alert. Rob on the night shift is the GOAT. His energy is immaculate. He has respectfully intervened when a random homeless person tried to approach my wife in the corridor. Remembers everyone's name, always offer help, opens doors, earned the trust of our dogs over time to give them treats and is all around a great guy. We are moving shortly and of all things in this building we will miss Rob and James the most. 10/10 read more

They try to charge you for every little thing that at first was promised and was the reason why we picked this place in the first place. Only a couple months ago we had to deal with bug infestation in the whole building for a couple months! As there was a recent management change, they deleted all the old reviews on here but unfortunately a lot hasn't changed. They're scammers that charge you extra for every little thing for example using the dog park which is one of the amenities. Not to mention how racist and nosy the whole leasing staff is!!!! They are very mean to people of color so if you're one of them, do not move in here. They gossip between themselves right in front of you about other tenants and (I'm guessing) look you up on social media to then bring stuff up to you like where you went for dinner or other details about your daily life!!! Horrible! STAY AWAY! Take it from a tenant who rents their most expensive penthouse they have to offer and has lived in other high end luxury high rises. Starting with their staff who are RACIST, rude and very unprofessional who in 2 different occasions have said very rude and racist comments to me, and pick and chose what residents they give favoritism to. Only a handful of them are genuinely nice. Parking is a absolute NIGHTMARE with absolutely no guest parking for 2 buildings combined (shoreline gateway and the current) unless you have favoritism from the racist staff they will allow their certain tenants to park in their "Retail spaces" and claim its workers cars, when you see Lamborghinis or other high end cars who occasionally park there. The whole building smells like weed, outside the building you will not find any parking and if you do expect your car to get broken into or vandalized when in 2 different occasions I've had guests cars get broken into. Besides that the units are made very cheaply there always to be a problem with something in the unit. Really thinking of breaking my lease than to keep putting up with ppl who just seem to come to work to make your life miserable, when they have it out for you they will be on top of you and try to make your life miserable any way they can. read more

Shoreline Gateway has been the epitome of class and what customer service should be. Our leasing agent, Eldon Anthony was especially helpful in making sure my husband and I were comfortable in the unit that we chose. Even went as far as to make sure when we made a last minute change to a new unit with an extra room, he made sure that unit was move in ready for us for our original date with less than 72 hours notice. The staff here from the front desk (Ronald and Dale especially stand out) have been nothing but awesome and have made the vibe so great here.
