The staff did an excellent job helping me choose the right bike for me, and they got me a great deal. They also took the time to properly fit the bike, which made a big difference in my riding comfort. After a year of riding, I brought the bike back for its first service. They went through everything, cleaned the bike thoroughly, and even took care of a slow air leak in the rear tire -- all at no charge. The service was completed within just a few days, and when I picked up the bike, it honestly looked like new. Everyone at Village Bikes is friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful. I really appreciate the way they take care of their customers even after the sale. I highly recommend Village Bikes to anyone looking for a new bike or, just as importantly, a great place to have their bike serviced. You won't be disappointed!

There was older one man sitting, observing anything that might go on there. There was another older man walking about drinking coffee. Then there was a younger guy with a beard who seemed to be talking with the man drinking coffee as he was working in what appeared to be the shoe area. I felt invisible. I didn't want to interrupt their conversation. Finally the younger chap asked me if I needed help. I told him I needed shoes for a spin bike. He asked me my size and grabbed a pair. They didn't quite fit and that was the only pair in my size. I suggested to go up a size in hopes they had it. I asked if they had any other sizes or styles he said no. I asked if they were going to be getting any more restocked he said no. I tried the shoes on and they fit. I asked if they had more selections on line. He showed me the box and let me take a picture of it, then left me alone. I decided to take them but he out the box back in the stack so I wasn't sure which pair it was I tried on. I walked over to the little coffee bar and he was on his computer, working away. After about 5 minutes I said-" excuse me but I would like to get the shoes please". He looked up from the computer-said "ok" and went and got them. He rang me up, I asked a few more questions that went no where and then his attention turned away. A couple walked in and the older guy drinking coffee pounced on them promptly. I was there around 11 am and I was the only person there originally. They seemed to have a lot of cycles and accessories but I felt ignored and brushed off. I hope you have a friendlier experience than I did.

We returned to the shop to address the seat issue, which they fixed, but my bike's shifting continued to worsen. The bike would not stay in gear, causing me to lurch forward repeatedly. I felt the bike was borderline unsafe. I considered returning it again but didn't want to lose another hour of our trip or deal with transporting the bike back and forth, especially since we were returning the bikes just a few days later. I rode it as is. When we returned the bikes after nine days, I explained the issues and asked for a partial refund. The owner tested the bike himself and claimed there was nothing wrong. I asked him to ride it to experience the issue, and he refused. He became angry and started yelling. Instead of a refund, he handed me a piece of paper for a $50 store credit, which he refused to refund to my card. We do not plan on returning, so the credit is useless to us. The interaction was extremely unprofessional. In hindsight, this was not our first issue with this shop. On a previous rental, a pedal actually came off a bike. At the time, I assumed it was an isolated incident. Now, it's clear that the equipment is poorly maintained. I would not recommend renting bikes from this shop.
