He provided us with dry bags and a quick instructional kayaking refresher, plus he helped us launch our kayaks. (Very helpful!) I say I "might" refer the company only because my friend was concerned about potential rain or lightning and she received mixed messages from someone at the office and someone outside of the office. (I think through email.) The group wound up turning around after roughly 1 hour of a 2.5 hour event. We were told by a young lady in the office that if we were rained out, we could receive a refund, but that hasn't happened to the best of my knowledge. {Full disclosure: I was not the primary contact person of the two of us, so maybe I am unaware of some change.} Nice folks all and all, they just might want to work on communicating weather updates and refund policies.

I've been doing this once a year for over a decade and I've never seen them this close! We we were sure to leave them alone and keep our distance to let them do their thing but they are curious creatures. A storm moved in so we had a bit of fun power-rowing back to the launch point. They were even kind enough to offer credit since the storm prevented us from using the entire 3 hrs. We had to go home the next day but it didn't matter; the experience was so perfect, we got everything we paid for. My wife said I definitely didn't overhype it!

If you are looking for a little adventure kayaking or a relaxing bike ride then this is definitely…read morethe place to rent from! First we rented bikes for a day which was a great relaxing way to get around town. They let you choose your own bike and they give you locks. The bikes also have baskets and you can ride them on the beach. The only thing I didn't like was the pricing shown on the flyer wasn't up to date and it ended up being a little more than advertised. But still reasonable. We were a little late getting the bikes back the next day but they had no problem with it. Very laid back and chill place. The next day we decided to rent a double kayak and two paddle boards. They were very helpful directing us where to go. You just drive a few miles down the road and the kayaks and boards are all ready for you and they help you put them in. Make sure you stop by the beach a little way down the canal. It's amazing!

We returned to the shop to address the seat issue, which they fixed, but my bike's shifting continued to worsen. The bike would not stay in gear, causing me to lurch forward repeatedly. I felt the bike was borderline unsafe. I considered returning it again but didn't want to lose another hour of our trip or deal with transporting the bike back and forth, especially since we were returning the bikes just a few days later. I rode it as is. When we returned the bikes after nine days, I explained the issues and asked for a partial refund. The owner tested the bike himself and claimed there was nothing wrong. I asked him to ride it to experience the issue, and he refused. He became angry and started yelling. Instead of a refund, he handed me a piece of paper for a $50 store credit, which he refused to refund to my card. We do not plan on returning, so the credit is useless to us. The interaction was extremely unprofessional. In hindsight, this was not our first issue with this shop. On a previous rental, a pedal actually came off a bike. At the time, I assumed it was an isolated incident. Now, it's clear that the equipment is poorly maintained. I would not recommend renting bikes from this shop.
