Ok yea. So here's FYI for you all. Workers not all that friendly nor helpful. The one good thing is sceneries we nice and relaxing. But the food situation is not correct the pricing is off u are charged more than the menu shows I paired 4.20 for a 20oz bottle of coke. Menu shows 2.50. And hot dog on menu is more on menu we had so yea I asked cashier and stayed I want the difference back. She said no she can't do that with a little attitude. But once she seen I wasn't gonna go away with out saying a little more she stayed what do me to do I didn't want any food or anything else from her. SO BECARFULL. AT THIS PLACE. ALSO THE PRICES R NOT CHEAP. I MEAN 8 or 9 dollars for just a hotdog and kettle chips there's no wait staff or anything. Come on I can go and buy a pack of the sabrretts hot dogs they use So I can't vouch for how food tast. But the whole matter left me with bad taste in my mouth I will not be coming back here for sure

Nice, long, well maintained boardwalk that ends over the water.

ONE Star for the fact that the shared showers and bathrooms were the furthest away from Cabin 1, which were the accommodations. Four stars for the cleanliness of the cabin. Cabins are bare bones: bed(s), chair(s), lamp, small table, hooks to hang things, window a/c, TV with Roku which continuously lost connection except for the last day when check out is 11am. Five stars for location on the Braden River. To awaken to the sounds of native birds at sunrise and walk on the boardwalk with fresh air in your lungs was invigorating. The Sarasota Bicycle Club stopped by on their morning ride. In the evening there's live music to unwind as you enjoy the sunset. Plenty of retail stores just West on SR 70, so no need to panic if you forget your toothbrush like I did. Location is close to Sarasota; only about 15--20 minutes to downtown. The drive to Bradenton beaches seemed longer than the drive to Lido Beach and Siesta Key. Rates are $80/night, $65 for Manatee County residents. Not too shabby if you don't mind having to walk a bit and share bath/shower facilities with other cabin dwellers.

    Sunset at Jiggs Landing !

Went on Sunset tour. Tour guide was friendly and informative. We all enjoyed learning about the area , birds , and animals that live there. Highly recommend this tour and a visit to Jiggs Landing.

Rented two kayaks for the afternoon. Good prices, friendly staff, decent kayaks. Had a great time. Definitely recommend you try it at least once.

The walkway path to the cabins and the beautiful water you get to look at.

Cleanliness needs work. Food sub par. Prices above average for the area. Too bad because its location is great.

Friendly staff. Enjoyed the time alongside the banks. Fishing and testing. Food at snack bar good. Mini concerts during week.

Food was terrible and, as musicians, my husband and I were terribly disappointed with the music. Total waste of time and money.

Never did I expect to experience the mangroves as I did, but thanks to our wonderful guide Laura I had the best time of my life. I highly recommend to natives who aren't experienced kayakers or new comers looking to learn a little about our wonderful history. She also took some amazing videos for us!

Island Style provided gently used kayaks and paddles, life vests and even plastic bags for our belongings. Remember to use sun screen on the back of your neck and arms. Also consider a bottle of water. We just wore shorts and t-shirts. Our guide was Kelly. He was prompt and courteous. He had us in the water and out of the water at the agreed times. Our guide made the adventure memorable. Starting with dry land instructions, our guide exhibited consistent knowledge, patience, encouragement . He continued to provide thoughtful instruction throughout the trip. Our guide helped us locate dolphins, snakes and pin fish along the Lido Park Mangroves. Also spotted green heron, ibis, and snowy egrets just outside mangrove tunnels. We had a wonderful adventure and Island Style provide us with a relaxing and intimate way to experience Sarasota's natural treasures.

It is a 36-mile-long river in the northeastern corner of Manatee County and flows into the Gulf of Mexico at the southern edge of Tampa Bay. Wildlife in the river include manatees and alligators, as well as, various types of fish. Shrimp is, even, harvested from its waters. Around the Manatee River is a birder's paradise with many species of birds can be found. My favorite is the wood stork, which is listed as endangered species. A few of the birds are considered threatened such as the snowy plover, bald eagle, Florida scrub-jay, and peregrine falcon. Other common birds that can be seen around the Manatee River include cattle egret, white ibis, great blue heron, and yellow-crowned night heron. Human development has a great impact on the environment of the Manatee River. Development (slash & burn) had increased greatly in the area surrounding the Manatee River and surrounding area, and not surprisingly, the water quality within the river has decreased. The use of organic pesticides is increasing danger in the ecological communities. The destruction of the forested wetlands and uplands for housing tracts, etc. in the area has caused excess nutrients to build up in local reservoirs. Also, in these reservoirs there have been increased levels of lead, zinc, and copper. Earth Day in Palmetto has included clean-ups of the banks are local wetlands. We need to pledge to stop polluting these essential waterways. They are home to the creatures who call this river home. It is, also, affecting the health of people who get their water from it.
