The service at this pool is amazing, they go above and beyond on service including free ice water and sunscreen!

This place is beautiful, of course.. because it's the Ritz! You can't go wrong perfect spot for you to enjoy the beautiful blue water of the gulf!

Great cocktails!

Ritz beach club was amazing!!!! Beautiful beach, white sand, excellent customer service. The food and cocktails were spot on. Amazing place located on one of the most breathtaking beaches in the world. I loved the fact that they lined the chairs facing the sun so that you can watch the sunset. The place is magical!!!

Amazing all around. Zero entry pool. Staff is incredible. Stayed here 4 times over the years.

We stayed at the ritz 2 nights and the second day at the beach club the service is just as bad as the first. I thought they were understaffed at the beach and probably hot in their masks. But they shouldn't take it out in their customers. Staying at a ritz usually means guaranteed high standards and great service. But the ritz in Sarasota at the beach club has bad service. The hotel staff and the actual hotel and staff was great and nice.

I had the privilege of visiting the Ritz Beach Club in Sarasota with a member. It is such a beautiful spot on Ledo beach to relax and enjoy the beach. They have tons of beach chairs with umbrellas on the beach and they provide towels and set up everything for you. They then provide wonderful service, both food and drink on the beach to your beach chair. The Beach Club also has a nice pool and a large hot tub that overlooks the beach. The drinks are fantastic but the food is just okay for how pricy it is. Members do get a discount on food and beverages but guests do not. If you have an opportunity to stay at the hotel or visit with a member, I highly recommend for a relaxing beach experience.

Ask the Community - Ritz Beach Club

We are planning to stay here but I just read a review that you will need a shuttle to go to the beach? How far is the beach from the hotel?

They have a shuttle that will take you there from the hotel! The shuttles come on a set schedule though. Once on the shuttle it is about a 10 minute ride. The Ritz hotel itself is on the mainland where the beach is on Lido Key.

We came for dinner and cocktails. Sitting outside at Rufa was very pretty. I wish the cocktails had a better pour of alcohol though, but they were certainly beautiful and unique. We had dinner at Jack Dusty's which was more than average, but the setting again, was just absolutely beautiful. I had the pan seared grouper, my husband had cioppino and another in our party had the filet. (No photos of our dinners since we wanted to be present for the whole experience) The sunset was nice, the service was fabulous and top-notch as you would expect a Ritz Carlton to be. Prices are also in line with what you would expect to pay. Don't expect two or three star service and prices. However, if you're trying to leave an impression on someone, this is definitely the place!

The Ritz-Carlton Name Without Ritz-Carlton Standards…read more The Ritz-Carlton Name Without Ritz-Carlton Standards This property is tired, poorly maintained and nowhere close to what anyone should expect from a Ritz-Carlton. The wallpaper was literally separating from the walls, the carpets were dirty and badly worn, and the room had a persistent musty smell. Even the telephone did not work. The condition of the room was bad enough, but the complete lack of responsiveness made the experience worse. When the air-conditioning stopped working, it was extremely difficult to get anyone to take ownership and resolve the problem. The managers appeared indifferent, and every attempt to speak with one was met with the same explanation: they were "in a meeting." The general manager was never available. Luxury hospitality is not simply a recognizable name on the building. It requires well-maintained rooms, responsive management and people who genuinely care when something goes wrong. This hotel failed on all three. The physical condition is unacceptable, the service recovery is practically nonexistent, and management seems either unwilling or unable to address legitimate guest concerns. At Ritz-Carlton prices, guests should not have to chase management for functioning air-conditioning, a working telephone or a room that does not smell musty and look neglected. This property needs a major renovation and, just as importantly, a management team that understands accountability. Until both happen, I cannot recommend staying here.

Been coming here for decades as a visitor - not an owner. Bottom line opinion is that Limetree…read moreResort provides a consistently excellent value. Yes, you can find fancier places with more amenities, but Limetree delivers what is important for a safe family friendly gulf beach experience. Read on to learn why...... Staff: office, maintenance and housekeeping staff were exceptional. They were always welcoming and helpful while their workspaces were totally professional - organized, neat and tidy. Facility: Rental condos were exactly as described, stocked as promised and clean. FYI - Visitors in one unit (No 120) reportedly experienced a consistent humming from electrical systems adjacent. Also, the Internet was disrupted by the storm temporarily, but electricity and air conditioning were reliably constant. Washer/dryer units are available for no charge! During our stay, Hurricane Debby passed by, leaving about 17 inches of rain in one day with very gusty winds. Through the weather was dramatic, we never felt in danger. The building felt solid. Whew! We used the community gas grills, the shared PC, bought postcards, and generally enjoyed the same experience we've had over the years. Plenty of parking is available, and the activity center was refreshed where we played ping pong and reviewd books in the lending library. Site: The beach was substantially augmented with crushed shell/sand. It held up to the storm surge like nothing ever happened. Spectacular sunsets were a treat. We saw dolphins, pelicans, gulls, lots of wading birds including a rosette spoonbill! Entertainment: We loved the Tuesday evening one woman band. Beautiful versatile voice and musician - she had the kids, and some adults, up dancing at sunset. A magical treat! Value: For a family friendly, safe, clean on-the-beach experience- it was amazing! In summary - for the experience controlled/managed by the Limetree, the overall rating is a solid 5 (best). It's what we've come to expect after many years of visits. We hope they continue for our future generations. However - there were some non-controllable factors that downgraded our visitor experience. 1) Temporarily, construction noise from a new development. Swiveling tower cranes, clanging metal, banging, truck traffic immediately adjacent to the Limetree on the north side occurs during the day. We experienced noise from about 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This was not a surprise because Limetree staff informed us of the work. Yet we were grateful to be on the south side of the facility - a little further away. 2) Other people: We were surprised to hear late night (after closing) loud pool parties on several evenings. They stopped before midnight but still it was not expected. We were also disappointed to see people pitch camp (umbrellas, chairs, etc.) between our rented cabanas and the beach - which obstructed our water view. Apparently, there is a public beach strip between Limetree property and the waterline available to anyone. Thus, Limetree could not force them to move, yet, we are used to a Limetree community of kindness - not competition. Thus, the atmosphere at times seemed less friendly this trip. Like the uncontrollable weather, I don't allow these external issues affect the Limetree rating. We'll be back.

The other resort guests were respectful and just the right amount of chatty. The sun comes in the backside of the hotel so if you've ever turn your beach lounge chair around pointing towards the canal and the Ritz-Carlton, you can full sun all day. It's fun to watch the different boats who dock in this canal go in and out. Kyle at the front desk was very nice, explained everything we needed to know about using our day pass, and got us on our way. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the beach that's also included with the day pass, which was a nice benefit. There are towels located right before you go out to the pool area. A guest who was staying here also said you can fish right off the canal and go out on kayaks and paddle boards. The food and beverages were decent enough, and not ridiculously overpriced. The pool was a little chilly, but felt great when I needed a quick dip. Would consider staying here on vacation instead of just getting a day pass.

There is a dock directly behind the hotel, which offers boat rentals as well. It's located near the Ribgling museum, and there are fireworks most nights. My balcony was such a fun spot to enjoy my drink and watch the show. 5 stars!

Grilled steaks one night, made fresh pasta another, and carried out multiple times from the most excellent Big Water Fish Market a very short walk away. Four-and-a-half stars. As others have noted in their reviews, Ken and Jeff are constantly working to keep up this lovely family resort. It is clean and landscaped beautifully, and the rooms are just right! With a sitting area in our two bedroom, we enjoyed the recliner and couch as we watched movies in the evening. In our full kitchen, we stocked the refrigerator from the local Publix and made our breakfast and lunch, which we packed for the beach. Many guests chose to grill out as we saw when we would load up to go to a local restaurant for dinner, but we preferred eating out! On our first night at Hurricane Hanks restaurant down the road, we met up with a resident who offered us more ideas for restaurants for dinner. There's nothing like walking right out onto the beach to spend a morning watching the waves, seeing dolphins frolic, observing osprey catching their breakfast, and swimming in the water among schools of fish. Many of the guests knew each other from yearly vacations, and we have already made our reservation for next year! Anna Maria Island is quiet and family friendly. White Sands Resort offers shuffleboard and corn hole right next to the pool, but the best show is the sunset.
