My family had a great experience renting from H2O watersportz. The website says 9:15-1:15 or 1:15-5:15 but there is more flexibility off season, so call and ask. If youre coming from Anna Maria, it's the first left over the bridge, so be ready to turn. We rented a fishing pole and bought some shrimp from Annie's bait shop next door (didn't catch anything though). If you fish, I think you need a Florida fishing license, which non residents can get for $17 online and it's good for 3 days. Dale programmed dolphin and fishing and sandbar spots into the GPS. It was easy to find them and stop. The only reason I gave 4 stars is price. Currently, other companies say they will deliver for a full day rental for the same cost as 4 hours at H20. read more

I usually only review restaurants, but my experience with H2O made me want to write one for them. I had a fantastic time with this company renting a jet ski. The location: is centrally located near Anna Maria/ longboat key. It allows you to easier go out into the gulf if desired or stay on the inner coastal. Having the choice was really great, especially if the water was rough in one and not the other. The staff: were exceptional. First, I was late, but they were very accommodating, especially since I booked last second. Secondly, the deckhand/guide was incredibly friendly and gave terrific advance on where to go. He was really good at making sure I understood the controls of the jet ski as well. The experience: it really was a 5-star experience! From the great location, the excellent staff, and the high-quality jet ski, I would 100% recommend H2O. Some places had older jet skis, but H2O has new modern ones with Bluetooth speakers built in and an info system. It's nice to see high-quality rentals. WOW! I know it can seem like a lot of money, but this was money well spent. Rented a jet ski from these folks for me and one for my wife. 2 hours. Jet skis were in awesome condition. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. I cannot agree enough at how truly amazing and fun this was. They helped me pair my phone with the Bluetooth on the jet ski and I was cranking up some Beach Boys while gliding across the Sarasota bay. We rode down to Longboat pass and into the Gulf of Mexico for a minute, stopped at a sand bar then headed all the way up to the north tip of AMI. We saw some dolphins and manatee and tons of birds. I now have the fever. My wife's jet ski took in some sea grass and started acting up. I called the owner and she sent Dale down to us on a jet ski right away. He jumped into the water and removed the grass and we were off again. If you have the ability to do this then don't hesitate. H2O Water Sports are the best! read more

I stumbled upon H2O after a weather cancelation and a full schedule m at my usual boat rental place left me without a boat. I was a little reluctant to try somewhere new, there are some questionable places out there. H2O was great! They called before my reservation to tell me that since it was a cold December morning I could delay my start time if I wanted to wait for the temperature to come up. It was pretty thoughtful. The boat was in excellent shape. It would be nice by privately owned standards, and as a rental I was very impressed. Even had a very nice Garmin gps, I haven't seen that yet in a rental. Rented a pontoon on 6/16/2020. Pontoon was nice and well equipped. Staff was nice and informative. Pontoon had a GPS unit installed with all the maps loaded on it. This made navigating the waters of Tampa Bay and around Anna Maria Island easy. (I never realized that there were so many shallow areas outside of the waterways/channels). Also, the GPS had preprogrammed waypoints with sights of interest. This allowed us to minimize our time finding the spots we wanted to visit. Awesome experience. I will definitely be using them again when I visit AMI. read more

This place has the best customer service I've ever experienced!! We rented a pontoon boat for the afternoon with our family including a toddler. We were a little nervous about the afternoon rain storms that occur in Florida, and While we were out a rain storm popped up. They called us and texted us immediately as soon as they saw the clouds to check on us and ensure our safety. And they did so numerous times! We were able to get out of the rain and enjoyed the rest of our time out on the water but ended up having to come back in a little early because of more storms coming. Not it only did they refund us for the time but also discounted our time due to the rain we encountered. They are family owned and operated and their prices are better than others I looked at. The boat was in excellent condition and we had no problems at all! They also took the time to inform and educate us on the best places to go and experience out on the water! Had an absolutely horrific experience with this place.. my son and I and my friend and daughter had gone out for a half hour on the jetskis.. it was low tide and my son and I came into unexpected seaweed.. I had followed their instructions and jumped off and grabbed seaweed from underneath the jetski.. we were told not to turn it back on if beeping occurred which it did.. I went thru this several times too the point where there was nothing left to do.. my friend went back to grab someone to help and no one came.. I had called 3 times explaining that I was doing everything that I was told to do.. I was literally walking thru slime to get my jetski back away from shore.. my son was vomiting scared for his life and again I called to state that we were stranded and told " there is people On the dock and we aren't losing business we will get there when we can.." they did not care about our safety just about their money, absolutely horrifying experience that my son is still scared from.. just be aware when booking with these people!!! read more

Great time and a good value! We took the 2 hour tour including a stop at Passage Key and it was beautiful. My wife and I shared a ski with our 5-year old and we fit with no problem. Jason was our guide and was very helpful jumping into the water a few times to clear grass from the clogged intake valve. We arrived there 30 minutes before we were scheduled to rent two jet ski's. My 20 year old daughter forgot her ID at our place in Longboat Key. Unfortunately that meant she could not ride one because of state law. So we decided to rent only one as I had my ID. The owner said since we pre-booked, we would be charged for two. I asked if they could "accommodate" not charging me for two even though we could only rent one, and they said NO. I wrote a review on Google where I rated them 2 stars out of 5 and received this from the owner. "I disagree with your self centered view of the situation. I am comfortable letting you go as a customer at this point. It was my intentions to attempt to salvage a customer relation with you as I value all of those who choose to do business with us. I wish you well in the future but please book elsewhere. " Self centered? Really? Please know there are plenty of other option in the area, no need to try to salvage anything. All I asked is if they could accommodate, they said no. I wrote a review saying they weren't. If you go to H2O please know that you CAN NOT MAKE CHANGES IF SOMETHING COMES UP. First of all, I am terrible with names! My family and my sisters family rented a pontoon boat to share for four hours and it was better than have a charter with someone else taking us around the bay! Young man that explained everything was GREAT! He showed on the map the best places to go and he was spot on, we saw dolphins, manatees and told a great place to hang out for a few on a sand bar. The experience was so good we all decided to rent two jet skies from them the very next day! A different gentleman showed us on the same map where to go and was very detailed about the water ways without making it sound too difficult to understand, all in all we had a blast with H2O and told them we will be back to see them when we visit next year! We rented two jet skis from H2O this past Friday. Call ahead to reserve - it will save you $$! We got there a few minutes late, no worries as they don't start timing you until you leave the dock. Checked in, signed paper work, went over safety and instructions. Both guys were super nice to all of us, kids included. I had left a stack of towels and some other loose things near the dock. I came back and my stuff was gone. Turns out a group going out on an H2O boat had stacked all of their things (coolers, bags, etc) there later and everything, including my stuff, was loaded onto the boat. Wouldn't have been a huge loss, but these great guys delivered ALL my stuff to our rental house later that night! Customer service at its best! Well done all around guys! read more

I have been a customer of H2O Watersportz for a couple of years. I am not a tourist that is a one-time visitor. I am a resident of Manatee County and try to frequent our small businesses to support them in these tough economical times. However, I will not be going back to H2O. We had one of their boats reserved for Saturday, August 4th for a full day, however, on Friday, August 3rd there was a sudden death in our family and we were traumatized. I called to cancel our reservation but was told that I had to give them 48 hour notice. As I explained the situation I was told that they have to run a business and that I would be charged for the entire day's rental fee. I feel like some consideration should have been given to our situation. I understand that they have to protect their business but was it a wise business decision? No...because they lost our business now for life. A lot more than a one day rental. read more

Best experience of our vacay (again)! We rented a boat once before but this time we went back for waverunners. The staff were helpful and friendly. We got into some seagrass but lucky for us we were listening when they explained the procedure. It took about 3 minutes to get it out and we were off again. You have to get more than an hour. The area you get to go is too big to see. We did the 2 hour special and we wanted more! There were dolphin everywhere! It was hands down awesome! read more

I'm a local and had family from out of state visiting. I wanted to show them a good time so I decided to rent a 24ft pontoon boat from H20 watersportz. When I got there the woman behind the counter was very informative and friendly. We had an excellent day out on the water but when we returned, the friendly woman was gone and instead there was a man. He began to inspect the boat before we were even unloaded....and announced there was "significant" prop damage. When my husband and I went to look at the so called prop damage..the man was very rude repeating at least 3 times" I dont know what you hit! but there's definitely prop damage!" We never hit anything and the prop had been painted white which is weird to me since every prop I've ever seen in stainless steel. The "prop damage" he was talking about what just the white paint on the edges was missing. The prop itself had no damage. The man then began to tell me that technically he could charge me $200 it he wanted since I signed the paperwork and it's in the small print..but instead would let me go if I paid $50. I believe this is some sort of scam he probably tells every customer just to get more money. This is the last time I'll go there. He embarrassed me infront of my visiting family and ruined all of our good moods after such a nice day. read more
