Me and my son in the mangrove area

Very nice place to rent a kayak for either a tour or paddling on your own. Nice area with mangrove areas and lots of manatees. The team here seemed to have their act together and even gave us a map of the a

We started our first trip to Sarasota with a guided kayak tour of the mangroves. The water was a little low so our tour guide, Seabiscuit, took us a slightly different route than normal. We went into some more open water and even though it was pretty windy we were all able to keep up with his pace. We were lucky enough to see a manatee and her baby calf. Sea biscuit was very respectful of the animals and their environment. He had a lot of knowledge and used the experience as a teaching moment. The momma and the baby were very curious about us and came right up to our kayaks. It was a once in a lifetime experience for our group of Midwesterners. After we saw the manatees we made our way back to the mangroves. And went down a couple of trails and it was awesome. Seabiscuit made sure everyone was safe and comfortable the entire trip. Over all I would highly recommend this tour! Our group had a ton of fun!

The wife and I went out on Sarasota Bay for a morning of kayaking. We used Paradise Adventures #paradiseadventutesfl and it couldn't have been better. We reserved, got a text with a link to sign release forms on-line via the phone and done. When we arrived Josh was there to greet us and Orlando came over with instructions, cold water, water tight baggies for personal belongs and a laminated map. Gave us the 411 on the map and area as well as safety tips. Took us to the launch area and got us on our way. An OUTSTANDING customer service experience. Couldn't recommend Paradise Adventure more !!! Defiantly use them. You won't regret it. What a GREAT day !!!!

Kayaking through mangroves

Chris was an awesome tour guide he knew exactly where to take us to see both manatee & dolphins! He was incredibly knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Getting to kayak through the mangroves was such an interesting experience seeing all the sponges & tree crab was truly a once in a life time experience. So glad we picked this company and had Chris as our guide.

Chris took us out on Thursday and it was so much fun! I had been kayaking before but on lakes in the PNW! This was a different experience and although we couldn't find any dolphins and it started out cloudy, the sun came out and made for some amazing photos inside the mangrove tunnels! My husband and I rode tandem and it was all too fun splashing him with my oars! Chris was a great guide and had lots of info about the area and the wildlife! Thanks Chris!

A great place to kayak through the waters of Sarasota! From start to finish Paradise Adventures was nothing but great! Jessica was our tour guide and she did an incredible job. It was just her and my cousin, just the 3 of us kayaking for 2 hours. It felt like just 3 friends out on kayaks for the afternoon. She knew all the great spots to take us and tried her best to find us manatees, although we did spot dolphins! She took us through 2 of the mangrove tunnels and told us tricks on where to find sea life. Neither one of us had ever gone kayaking before and she was very patient in teaching us, and had us like pros by the end of our trip! We saw so much, and had way more fun than we were expecting! It was very affordable and easy to find their location. The weather was perfect, and we definitely got our money worth of the trip! We will for sure be back to kayak again with Jessica and to recommend to others coming to this area! There are many kayak companies but this is one I would for sure come to again!

We had a wonderful day Kayaking through the mangrove tunnels at Lido Key. The kayaks we rented from Paradise Adventure we excellent. The workers who met us for the rentals were very informative and personable. They made sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable before we launched. We are experienced with kayaks so did not need the instruction they offered. They provided dry bags for our phones, life vests and water. If it is your first time kayaking make sure you take time getting instruction or take a guided tour. The mangroves can be a teeny bit tricky to maneuver if it is your first time kayaking. We will definitely be doing this again the next time we are in Sarasota!!!

Never did I expect to experience the mangroves as I did, but thanks to our wonderful guide Laura I had the best time of my life. Island Style provided gently used kayaks and paddles, life vests and even plastic bags for our belongings. Remember to use sun screen on the back of your neck and arms. Also consider a bottle of water. We just wore shorts and t-shirts. Our guide was Kelly. He was prompt and courteous. He had us in the water and out of the water at the agreed times. Our guide made the adventure memorable. Starting with dry land instructions, our guide exhibited consistent knowledge, patience, encouragement . He continued to provide thoughtful instruction throughout the trip. Our guide helped us locate dolphins, snakes and pin fish along the Lido Park Mangroves. Also spotted green heron, ibis, and snowy egrets just outside mangrove tunnels. We had a wonderful adventure and Island Style provide us with a relaxing and intimate way to experience Sarasota's natural treasures.

I can only imagine how difficult parking must be during peak season. Thankfully, parking is free, and so are all of the park's facilities. We visited on a Sunday and were greeted by a friendly park employee who was incredibly knowledgeable about the area. She provided us with a laminated trail map, which was a huge help and allowed us to enjoy the experience without constantly checking our phones. The kayak trails were absolutely amazing! The water was crystal clear, making it easy to see fish and other wildlife below. We visited in mid-June and were pleasantly surprised that we didn't encounter any mosquitoes or no-see-ums. It took us about two hours to paddle all of the kayak trails, including a relaxing beach break along the way. There are four main trails to explore, with Trail 3 offering two different exit routes, making it worth paddling twice for two unique experiences. Trail 4 was the most challenging, with several low-hanging branches that required a little extra maneuvering. Overall, this was easily one of the best kayak trail systems we've explored, and we'll definitely be back!

Even with low tide, I was able to maneuver the kayak. I would not recommend use the canoe to explore due to shallow depths on certain locations. The park has 4 major tunnel and over 10 brunch tunnels. Tunnel is label 1 to 4. The tunnel 1 and 2 is one way in and out. I was renting the kayak at the locate vendor Surfit. They provide me a map of the mangrove tunnel to explore. They also provide a dry bag for my personal staff. I would said paddle board has a height condition due to mangrove brunch. Many paddle boarder has to kneel or sit through the tunnel. On the non major tunnels, the space is narrow. Some time you do not have room to paddle. Just use the mangrove to push through. I enjoy the most is when I follow the flow direction. Easy paddling. I also like to see a lot of bird in the tunnel. The nature is beautiful. Love the tunnel due to shading from wind. In the tunnel is also blocking the sun and pleasant. I would suggest visit the park in the morning.

It is a 36-mile-long river in the northeastern corner of Manatee County and flows into the Gulf of Mexico at the southern edge of Tampa Bay. Wildlife in the river include manatees and alligators, as well as, various types of fish. Shrimp is, even, harvested from its waters. Around the Manatee River is a birder's paradise with many species of birds can be found. My favorite is the wood stork, which is listed as endangered species. A few of the birds are considered threatened such as the snowy plover, bald eagle, Florida scrub-jay, and peregrine falcon. Other common birds that can be seen around the Manatee River include cattle egret, white ibis, great blue heron, and yellow-crowned night heron. Human development has a great impact on the environment of the Manatee River. Development (slash & burn) had increased greatly in the area surrounding the Manatee River and surrounding area, and not surprisingly, the water quality within the river has decreased. The use of organic pesticides is increasing danger in the ecological communities. The destruction of the forested wetlands and uplands for housing tracts, etc. in the area has caused excess nutrients to build up in local reservoirs. Also, in these reservoirs there have been increased levels of lead, zinc, and copper. Earth Day in Palmetto has included clean-ups of the banks are local wetlands. We need to pledge to stop polluting these essential waterways. They are home to the creatures who call this river home. It is, also, affecting the health of people who get their water from it.
