Did a last minute kayak tour with Paradise on a Sunday afternoon. Caleb was our guide. He was super nice, patient, charming and very knowledgeable. Learned all sorts of fun facts about the wildlife and eco system in Sarasota. Caleb took pictures of families in the kayaks and when we had a break on the beach. Super organized company - Caleb and the rest of the crew work well together in getting people out on the kayaks and returning. You can do 2 to 3 hours you can go free style or get a guide. Either way you will have fun.. the guide Greg loves his job and he will tell you he's ADD. This made him more fun in my opinion. I brought my wife kayaking for the first time and was worried I was overhyping the experience. In the mangrove tunnels, we got to pretend we were exploring the swamps of Degobah and, when we came out, we were greeted by a mommy dolphin and her baby who surfaced a few feet from our kayaks. I've been doing this once a year for over a decade and I've never seen them this close! We we were sure to leave them alone and keep our distance to let them do their thing but they are curious creatures. A storm moved in so we had a bit of fun power-rowing back to the launch point. They were even kind enough to offer credit since the storm prevented us from using the entire 3 hrs. We had to go home the next day but it didn't matter; the experience was so perfect, we got everything we paid for. My wife said I definitely didn't overhype it! read more

We started our first trip to Sarasota with a guided kayak tour of the mangroves. The water was a little low so our tour guide, Seabiscuit, took us a slightly different route than normal. We went into some more open water and even though it was pretty windy we were all able to keep up with his pace. We were lucky enough to see a manatee and her baby calf. Sea biscuit was very respectful of the animals and their environment. He had a lot of knowledge and used the experience as a teaching moment. The momma and the baby were very curious about us and came right up to our kayaks. It was a once in a lifetime experience for our group of Midwesterners. After we saw the manatees we made our way back to the mangroves. And went down a couple of trails and it was awesome. Seabiscuit made sure everyone was safe and comfortable the entire trip. We were actually going with another kayak tour company and they did not have any spots. They recommended Paradise Adventure! We arrived ten minutes before the tour started and they were giving kayak tips. We did our tour with Orlando and he was a blast! Very knowledgeable and he knew early on we were able to keep up with his kayaking abilities. Since we were able to keep up with him, he took us places that he may not of taken other people. Orlando told us about how the bay became the bay and what to expect in the mangroves. Orlando is a very knowledgeable guide, but more importantly he's great with whoever he is guiding. He grasps the personalities of the people he's guiding quickly. The wife and I went out on Sarasota Bay for a morning of kayaking. We used Paradise Adventures #paradiseadventutesfl and it couldn't have been better. We reserved, got a text with a link to sign release forms on-line via the phone and done. When we arrived Josh was there to greet us and Orlando came over with instructions, cold water, water tight baggies for personal belongs and a laminated map. Gave us the 411 on the map and area as well as safety tips. Took us to the launch area and got us on our way. An OUTSTANDING customer service experience. Chris took us out on Thursday and it was so much fun! I had been kayaking before but on lakes in the PNW! This was a different experience and although we couldn't find any dolphins and it started out cloudy, the sun came out and made for some amazing photos inside the mangrove tunnels! A great place to kayak through the waters of Sarasota! From start to finish Paradise Adventures was nothing but great! Jessica was our tour guide and she did an incredible job. It was just her and my cousin, just the 3 of us kayaking for 2 hours. It felt like just 3 friends out on kayaks for the afternoon. She knew all the great spots to take us and tried her best to find us manatees, although we did spot dolphins! She took us through 2 of the mangrove tunnels and told us tricks on where to find sea life. Neither one of us had ever gone kayaking before and she was very patient in teaching us, and had us like pros by the end of our trip! We saw so much, and had way more fun than we were expecting! It was very affordable and easy to find their location. The weather was perfect, and we definitely got our money worth of the trip! We had a wonderful day Kayaking through the mangrove tunnels at Lido Key. The kayaks we rented from Paradise Adventure we excellent. The workers who met us for the rentals were very informative and personable. They made sure we had everything we needed and were comfortable before we launched. We are experienced with kayaks so did not need the instruction they offered. They provided dry bags for our phones, life vests and water. If it is your first time kayaking make sure you take time getting instruction or take a guided tour. The mangroves can be a teeny bit tricky to maneuver if it is your first time kayaking. We will definitely be doing this again the next time we are in Sarasota!!! read more

This kayak tour was amazing! We did a 2 person kayak with Ben as our tour guide. He was fun, informative and adventurous! We saw a baby shark, manatee, birds and more. My family and I had a wonderful time today on our kayak adventure with Chris! He was very knowledgable about the area and wildlife. We were able to see jellyfish, horseshoe crabs exoskeletons, sea stars, small black crabs in the mangroves, and a red-eyed juvenile night heron. We did not see any dolphins on our tour, but we were able to stand out in the middle of the Sarasota Bay on a sand bar and take great pictures. If you are considering going on an adventure, I would definitely recommend using Paradise Adventures! We loved every minute of it and would like to go again with more family and friends! Chris and Orlando were very personable and made sure we understood what to do and how to sit, how to hold our paddles, and we were able to use dry bags to house our electronics on the kayaks. They also provided us each with a bottle of water, but make sure you bring more since it is a two hour tour in the sun. Don't forget your sunscreen, hats, sunglasses, and wear your swimsuit because you will get a bit wet. read more

My wife and I went on a kayak tour with Orlando on this past Saturday afternoon and were treated to the Sarasota Bay dolphin show for about 35 - 40 minutes. There were 3 boats with Paradise Adventures plus Orlando so it was a nice small group. Orlando got our boats in the water, explained the life jacket rule and we went paddling. As soon as we were out on the water you could see a crowd of kayakers a short distance away. You could also see the dolphins milling around the kayakers. We spent time watching somewhere between 6 and 10 dolphins put on a show. Fully breaching the water at times. We tried to paddle away from the dolphins so we would not disturb them too much and they just followed along with us for quite a while. When they began to leave there were two off in the distance that seems to get out of the water 5 - 6 feet. The rest of the trip was interesting going through the mangroves, learning about the black crabs and the salt tunnels, but when you have the dolphins playing and following you from the get go......you get spoiled! read more

It was a friend reunion with six energetic young women and we had such a delightful kayaking adventure with Orlando. There were moderate/ strong winds that day, but on our last day as a group, we didn't want to cancel the adventure we had long waited for. It was a smooth easy check in process- everything was there waiting for us. Once we got on the water, we had to exert some effort for about 10 minute to fight through the strong winds. After that it was an amazing experience going by a shipwreck, and then seeing two large manatees that swam right by us. Then we stopped at an island and saw three dolphins jumping out of the water! However, the best part of the trip was saved for last going through the unique mangrove forest tunnels. This was an unbelievable experience which will never be forgotten! read more

Excellent kayak tour. My husband and I and two young daughters rented two tandem kayaks on March 28 in the early morning. We did the self-guided tour. They gave us a map, bug spray, a water proof bag, and the kayaks and paddles. The kayaks were really nice. The best ones we saw out of the other rental companies. We started the tour looking for dolphin and manatee and didn't see any but we did see some amazing birds, a ship wreck and some ducks who were plucking fish out of the water and eating them right in front of us. The next part of the tour was through several mangrove rivers. That was so cool. The map was easy to follow and the areas well marked. It took us about two hours. My children, husband, and I loved it! read more

He's super knowledgeable about the whole history of the area and all the wildlife in the bay, and was great at working with all levels of experience in the group. He did a great job teaching us how to handle the kayaks and added told us stories about the local homes and how several of the keys were man made. He also spotted many local birds and other animals. My family and friends went out on an sunset kayak tour with Orlando to a sandbar in the gulf. We enjoyed the sunset and a lite meal we brought along. Orlando was a great guide - getting us out to the sandbar on time and making sure we left before the tide made kayaking back harder. He even humored us by taking us to try to see Manatee at the end of the tour as we requested even though it was dark and we were unlikely to see Manatee then - as he told us. One special aspect of the trip was kayaking through the mangroves in the dark. It is very peaceful and enjoyable doing the mangroves after sunset.
