Like other important things we do at least once each year, I've been making sure to get my teeth…read morechecked after I had a "bad cavity scare" years ago. All I remember was that something was making my jaw hurt so bad that I had semi-fainting spells. I couldn't think straight and I couldn't get ANYTHING done. Worst of all, I couldn't eat ANYTHING regardless of how appetizing they were. In other words, something I didn't really think twice about is now IMPORTANT enough to demand all my attention. I was freaking out about how bad my cavity must be. I was dreading the possibility that I would not have to remove my wisdom teeth (and stressed with the image that another stupid oral surgeon left by showing me his "hammer and chisel"). I just didn't like the feeling but was motivated enough by the extreme pain to go deal with it. Thank all things good, however, that it wasn't a cavity nor had it anything to do with my wisdom teeth. It was just a bloody popcorn kernel that had wedged itself into my gum. I have zero cavities and am part of small percentage in humanity that will never get one. =) Long story short, I've been coming to Dr Jang's office since my move to Monterey and have had no complaints regarding his practice. For one who doesn't really like dentists since childhood, he has been the first dentist that I'm willing to remain with due to his professionalism and thoroughness. He doesn't do "hammer and chisels" (remove wisdom teeth) so that thought alone keeps me seated instead of running away whenever I'm here for a cleaning. Great dentist and friendly staff. Definitely recommend for those in the area looking to establish a dentist! 15/03LR

Outstanding Dental Care, Exceptional Customer Service, and a Team That Truly Deserves Appreciation!…read more I've been coming to this dental clinic ever since it first opened, and I can honestly say that my experience has been excellent. One of the biggest reasons I continue coming back is the top-notch customer service, professionalism, and dedication of the entire team, especially the front desk receptionists. I want to give special recognition to the receptionists because they are truly the backbone of the clinic. They are often the first people patients interact with, and they deal with all kinds of personalities, questions, concerns, appointments, and unexpected situations throughout the day. It takes patience, communication skills, and a great deal of professionalism to handle that responsibility. Their hard work deserves far more appreciation than they probably receive! I also have tremendous respect for the dental assistants, dentists, and orthodontists. Working in dental care requires knowledge, precision, patience, and compassion. These professionals work hard to make sure patients receive the care they need, and I genuinely appreciate the effort they put into their work. Personally, I've had fillings and deep cleanings done here, and I got my braces in December 2025. I've really enjoyed my orthodontic experience so far and appreciate the continued support and care I've received throughout my treatment. Getting braces is a journey, and having a team that helps you feel supported along the way makes a meaningful difference. As this clinic has grown since opening its doors, it has also attracted a much larger patient population. With more patients coming through the doors, the staff can sometimes become overwhelmed or understaffed, and appointment schedules may occasionally be affected. I understand that this can be frustrating, especially when people have work, school, family responsibilities, and other commitments to manage. Nobody wants to spend extra time waiting when they have a busy schedule. However, I encourage everyone to please be patient, respectful, and understanding toward the dental staff. The people working here are human beings, too. They are doing their best to accommodate a growing number of patients while balancing numerous responsibilities. A delay or scheduling inconvenience does not automatically mean that the staff doesn't care. Sometimes, the demand simply exceeds the resources available at that moment. Of course, patients deserve good communication and timely care, but kindness and mutual respect go a long way. A little patience can make a difficult day easier for everyone. I hope the clinic continues to grow, improve its scheduling and staffing as needed, and maintain the quality of care and customer service that made me appreciate this place from the beginning. To the receptionists, dental assistants, dentists, and orthodontists: thank you for the work you do every day. Your efforts matter, and I hope you know that your dedication does not go unnoticed. If you're considering becoming a patient here, I can speak positively about my experience. I've received several services, I'm continuing my orthodontic journey, and I appreciate the support I've received from the team. Five stars for the care, the customer service, and the people who make this clinic what it is. Keep up the great work, and thank you for everything you do!

I thought I would give them another shot since my friend recommended this dentist so highly. So I made an appointment for a cleaning... I came 15 min early for my appointment as I do with all medical appointments just in case they need me to fill anything out. I waited and waited and waited. People who came in after me got called in while I waited past my appointment time. Finally, after waiting 10 minutes longer, I got back up to the counter to ask what my appointment time was, they confirmed the time and stated they were setting things up... WHAT, I think the receptionist might have completely forgotten to check me in because once I said something then they took me in a couple minutes later! How upsetting that they don't value people's time. As I mentioned this dentist was so highly recommended I wanted to give this place another chance but the front desk staff didn't meet my expectations. This is the second time they have had a mishap here. First with my "scheduling" enough time for my crown and now forgetting to check me in. Wow. I am so disappointed. The doctor was great! Very nice and explained everything clearly. He cleaned my teeth and told me about some fillings coming loose and about needing to replace them. I definitely think this dentist is better than the one I had been seeing for a few years, at least he remembered me from the first visit I had lol. That's saying a lot. I feel like most dentist office is like an assembly line, they are trying to work on 5-6 patients at a time and they don't even remember your name.

I've gotten routine checkups and cleaning for myself and daughters aged 7 and 3 without any issues. I've also gotten a root canal and crown and what I love most about Dr. Jang is that he is honest and not pushy trying to sell services to you. He's honestly the best dentist I've had. The best part is that if your military they accept United Concordia AND MetLife, so you don't have to worry about that when Tricare switches back every year or so! I was actually in the middle of a root canal and crown process when they switched and I transitioned smoothly with no issues.

Sally checked me in and also did x-rays. Dr. La Villa examined my teeth, took pictures, and explained everything very carefully. All the while being very good natured and chatting with me. The best part was that he smoothed down some "high spots" on my teeth that were affecting my bite and causing me some discomfort. During the first visit! Last year, at another practice, it took three visits before the dentist began any treatment for a toothache I was having. I was so impressed that Dr. La Villa wanted me to leave feeling better after the first visit! I can't say I'm looking forward to having dental work done, but I'm very reassured that it will be at such a good practice. :)
