Very elderly dentist was okay but thought I was getting a filling? Very weird. But the office was very bad. The girls were rude and I was told a different amount than my bill which was much bigger than my estimate. Office is very old and the tiny parking lot was full so I had to park 3 almost blocks away and by the time I got up the stairs I was freezing and sweating at the same time . dr lagier is terrific. to me, she rates 5 stars for her knowledge, experience, good care and chair-side manner. i've been a patient for +10 years and have recommended her to many friends that were looking for dental care. the hygienists i have had clean my teeth over the years there have been very thorough and all rate 5 stars as well. dental rooms are always very clean and professional. the only ding i give them is due to the front office staff. also, my many interactions with one particular employee causes me to rate the office a 4. the lady is always a hassle, never pleasant to deal with on phone or in-person and yet it appears that the practice is ok with her continuing the unbecoming behavior. read more

My husband and I have just moved to the area and wouldn't you know it... I woke up with the worse tooth ache I've ever experienced. When I called, Deborah at the front desk was caring and helpful. I was able to get in and taken care of ASAP. After X-rays it was clear that a root canal was essential. I was referred to a great Endodontist and will be going back for my crown. We are new to the area and was told this office was on our insurance plan. We should have asked around first. Parking was impossible. There is a small lot under the building but it was full so I drove around but couldn't find anywhere to park so I was late to my appointment. A homeless man had some cardboard set up so just as well. I would hate to take his space. With the amount of steps I had to climb I got my workout for the day. The doctor came in during my cleaning and told me what I needed. (Crowns). The girl that cleaned my teeth seemed nice enough. I guess they had just lost a hygienist and people were getting mad because they had been seeing her forever. Honestly I didn't care but I couldn't say anything I just had to sit there and listen. I am not sure if I will go back for the crowns or cleaning. read more

Before the pandemic this was the best office in Monterey and Carmel. Everyone was always friendly and professional. My family has been going here forever. Dr Lagier was ok. But since the reopening they have a new receptionist that is very rude. She kept cutting me off when I was trying to make my kids appointments and seemed put out to be making the appointments at all. If it was just a bad day I would understand but it is always like that with everyone in the front. I feel like as soon as I left the room they roasted me. And my appointment time has been changed on several appointments without my permission, then I am blamed. Two of the times I had an appointment card and showed it to the receptionist but no apologizing ever. And one of the girls that has worked in the back forever said Dr Lagier is looking to retire and when that happens she is leaving too. I am currently looking for another dentist. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Lagier for several years now. Before becoming a patient I had not seen a dentist for quite some time. Dr. Lagier and her staff were very friendly and reassuring that I was a "typical" client and that my teeth were not about to fall out! I learned so much my first visit. They swabbed my mouth for a bacteria count to know what the chemistry was like in my mouth. From there I had a check up and tooth cleaning. It was fast, easy, and very pleasant. To my surprise, no cavities! From that initial visit, I have continued on. I have received Invisalign through Dr. Lagier and now bleaching. I see Tina, the bestest Dental Hygienist there is, twice a year. After the bleaching Dr. Lagier will fix a few knicks and chips on my teeth and I will be ready for TV Teeth! Love Dr. Lagier and staff. Called one night in lots of pain, they saw me the next morning at 8:30 am. I needed an emergency root canal. She was very gentle and kind and understanding, I was crying and a blubbering mess. She Referred me to a great endocrinologist and I've seen her as my dentist ever since. I have had some bad experiences with other dental professionals, both right before going to Dr. Lagier a couple of years ago and recently for work needed from an endodontist. Dr Lagier fixed the issues with the shoddy work done in my mouth with care and understanding and had me all fixed up in no time, restoring my faith in dentists and leaving me feeling right as rain. I've now had some issues arise with an old root canal and crown done years ago this past week and needed to see an endodontist for it. It was not a good experience and I needed her help to know what to do next. She responded with understanding, sound advice and immediate attention. She and her staff are always quick to respond, compassionate and have superb customer service skills. I just can't rave enough. I only wish she was an endodontist too so I didn't have to go anywhere else for care! Lol. I feel like a cared for patient and a valued individual and not just another person they have to deal with.
