I often read reviews, good or bad, and wonder to myself if the reviewer ever says any of their comments to the staff in the establishments. Perhaps in the ideal world this would happen, because feedback is good to owners, saying that myself I do not like to complain, never have and probably never will. After all these people can go away into another room and do anything with your food. Anyways at the Shore we were never asked what we thought of our food anyway. I had heard good things about this place and took my husband along for a birthday meal, his pate starter was fine, my linguistines were soggy overcooked mush, and I had eaten a few before I reminded the waitress that bread and oil were supposed to accompany them. My husbands steak was very tastey yes but mushroom, I suspect deepfried, was just yucky. I had the seabass which was a good piece of fish but I just did not get much flavour from it as it was with a pepper sauce which was just overly hot, trust me I love pepper sauce, but this was just crazy hot for the dish. Others I am sure would not of eaten it but I did and just drank more. Overall I found the meal dissapointing, because at 95pound with drinks it just did not stand up in the standard to the price...maybe it was the chefs night off, it was a Tuesday. read more
