I am remiss in writing this review so late. We visited here in May, at the time they were extremely busy, guests who had reservations (we didn't) and they had a large party. However, the gracious owners, Geoff and Moira Cook, made room for our party of 6! My husband had found this restaurant on an internet search and we were looking forward to dining there, we should have made reservations, they could have turned us away but they didn't. Now, most places who were that busy you would expect that the service and food were lacking - neither was the case during our experience. Being Americans, our portions are usually large - not only were their entrees more than generous their quality was OUTSTANDING. From the soup to the entrees we were more than impressed. The beautiful, clean setting, the ambiance of a true welcoming Scottish environment and the history of the battlefield and the Inn itself would impress even the most sceptical "foodie". Scotland is truly one of our very countries in the world and when we visit again we plan to include Perthshire on our itinirary for the Sherriffmuir Inn alone! Thank you Mr and Mrs Cook for the kindness and the graciousness. We look forward to seeing you again! Your establishment can not only compete but exceed the Michelin rated restaurants we have experienced. It is certainly a labor of love and it shows that you put every ounce of it to make sure your patrons leave satisfied. read more
