I love this place!! Sure it's not a grand and beautiful place. But there are 3 reasons I like it very much. 1. Things go on sale quite good here, with you shop rite card you can save yourself quite some money! 2. They have a great coupon policy, which I find very convienent (coupon friendly). 3. Verrrrrry well stock inventory!! I just saved myself a total of 40 dollars from coupons and sale!! Got 6 arm and hammer detergent, bacon, 4 boxes of barilla pasta, and 4 kikkoman soy sauce for roughly 20 dollars. Great super savings can't go wrong there!! read more

Pricewise dealwise I'm giving it a 3 They have a kosher fish dept which is very accomdating. They will prepare your fish and cut according to specifications. Some great deals which change on a weekly basis. Lots of checkout counters. Plenty easy parking . read more

Shop here at least once a week. Of all the super markets I've been to in Brooklyn they certainly have the best selection at decent prices. They are open 24 hours which is obviously convenient, plenty of parking, plenty of employees willing to answer questions. I swung by there around 1AM today. The enterance on mcdonald avenue was locked and no sign pointing to which doors were open. I walked to the other side of the building and there were dozens of shopping carts blocking the doors. Does this place want to steer customers away or what? I got myself in but not without the feeling that I was somehow trespassing. The space inside the store was one of the biggest I have ever seen. The cashier was nice and the place was being cleaned but not everywhere though. Nice place but I'd rather go somewhere else. read more

The main reason this supermarket gets 5 stars from me, overall, is due to the fact it is open 24/7. Most of my grocery shopping gets done in the middle of the night, and having such a massive 24-hour supermarket nearby is extremely convenient. In terms of price/quality, the quality is good enough and they always have lots of sales. Compared to any supermarket in Manhattan, I'd say that you can expect the final bill at Shop Rite to be less than half the price of the former. Additionally, there's a fantastic fruit store across the street that is also open 24/7 (except Friday and Saturday) and I try to buy all my fresh produce there. For people taking the train--Take the F to ave i, and Shop Rite is on the right side if your travelling from Manhattan to Brooklyn. Theres a parking lot that you have to walk through to get to the main entrance. P.S. Although the area may seem sketchy at night, it's just the nature of the train tracks and dark industrial buildings that make it look this way--it's actually an orthodox Jewish neighborhood and is very safe, so you have nothing to worry about in regards to traveling there late at night on the train. read more

Although this is my regular store for grocery shopping, I am disappointed that during this COVID period, they are not even close to honoring their advertised prices for online delivery. (I have underlying health issues. and would prefer not to be exposed right now.) They claim in print on all their ads that the prices are the same online and in person. Although they do indicate they charge more for Instacart on the Instacart site, as of this writing, their sales ad indicates, for example, that cherries are $1.99/lb with a Shoprite card which I have. On Instacart, they charge $4.39/lb. Haagen Dazs advertised at $1.77, Insta price = $3.62. I don't know why they feel they need to mark up prices - it doesn't cost them anything to have an Instacart shopper in the store - but they can at least *attempt* to meet their advertised prices. It's a great place to shop near home. It's open 24 hours, 7 days a week. Even during hollidays they close only for few hours. The parking can be difficult and it gets very congested. What I like about it is that they are bringing more organic produce and always evolving and selling items that are good for your health. read more

This is not the right shop for me. Frankly, I am amazed that this store has so many good ratings. Are we this supermarket starved? I feel badly giving this store such a low rating since the staff were actually nice, and most of the problems seem to relate to disgusting customers, not poor management. The parking lot is a dangerous obstacle course; the pick up zone and the parking are too close to each other. But worse are the truly hostile drivers who refuse to let anyone go. The produce section is absolutely disgusting, bugs flying around, the smell of rotting fruit and veggies. Desperate for some asparagus I made the horrible mistake of buying two bunches. When I got them home I realize they too smelled horrible. Argh. I certainly wasn't going back to this store for a refund. The store is dirty overall; but this is clearly the fault of the customers. They would need two maintenance people per aisle to keep up with the people leaving unwanted goods everywhere. Large bottles of water were on super sale: great, right; but somehow half of the bottles were sticky. Yeah, I learned this experientially. The manager called all available staff to the registers, and they moved quickly. But one had to negotiate the rude and entitled customers to get to the lines. Yes, the problem is the customers: they push, refuse to move over to let anyone pass, bang in to you (no apologies of course) and then try to cut the line. If you must shop in a supermarket and can't get to Fairway, seek out a C-Town. read more

shopping here on a Sunday will make you want to kill yourself. while waiting in line for 1/2 hour you will start judging everyone's cart contents and wondering just how many grubby kids they have at home to feed. on top of that, you will go home to find that the all-natural flour you just paid 5 dollars for has a multitude of small crawly black bugs that will make you want to vomit. thank gawd its open 24/7... that's the one redeeming factor. (also, they do carry a couple brands of tofu, and even Quorn brand chik'n patties, so as a vegetarian that was a pleasant surprise) read more

Open 24 hours this Supermarket is the biggest in Brooklyn. This use to be the old Ave. I Flea Market years ago. The supermarket reminds me of a suburban supermarket like in Long Island. Over 20 aisles, more than 25 registers, this place packs them in. Large parking lot as well. Best prices, best variety. Everything is fresh as the volume keeps them from putting fresh stuff on the shelves. If you are impatient this is not the store for you. This supermarket will keep you in there for more than an hour. read more

Customer service was great but they tried to rip me off. I ordered roses online at it exactly says 'Sprayed Roses Vase Arrangements' $14.99 EACH. They charged me about $30 EACH. They said it's because it's including the VASE. Never ordering shit from shoprite ever again. You can get a vase for $2-$5 outside but shoprite charges you $15 for ONE vase. Writing here is my 'second' choice. I would prefer to write my disappointment directly to the General Manager. But his specific name, or even the existence of such an office, is excluded from any public posting. The three major concerns that I want address are mostly moral/ethical. I like shopping at this Shoprite but, currently feel disrespected by purchases and policies undertaken on Saturday September 14, between 11 am and noon. Issue #1: I bought a package of generic 'split chicken ribs.' When unpacked each piece of chicken had the cutlet but the entire rib cage for the whole breast. Thus, I was charged for the complete rib cage and half of the breast. This was the case four times over. The math of the hidden charge adds up, and I feel disrespected, as if, "I am not an educated consumer." ...... #2: the second lack of ethics happened within the store. At the shelves in the bread area, the outstanding strategically placed advertisement read, " Thomas English Muffin Sale: Two for the price...." At the check-out I was charged full price. When I asked why, the explanation was: "The sale only applies when the two 'six-packs' were in one package, not two individual 6 packs." This might be 'fair practice' if the display holding the muffin packages was filled only with single six packs, no double-packs. The was on the same on the adjacent shelves. This practice feels like a "Witch & bate" practice, an clear unethical practice. My last point addresses the poor administration and failing practices. At 11 am on a Saturday morning the meat section had a total of 6 totally empty subsections. This is my weekly time to shop for my family, 6 areas without product was most disrespectful. What made it feel abusive was the 3 -4 workers who were arriving with a brown boxes of meats, stayed talking and enjoying a series of hearty laughs. No meat was unpacked as long as I waited. I wish ShopRite nothing but 'good' because this store is a rich resource for our community. I would appreciate my message: being read; a response provided, and delivered to the General Manager & the other appropriate managers. Of course it would be wonder-filled if these disrespectful, failing practices be reversed and the supermarket return to its previous 5 -star reputation. read more

Be carful enough to check your change from cashier. Today I did not feel good but I when to shop and I had 100 $ bill and I put away my change without checking how much I got ....then when I lef I could not prove that I did not get the right amount of my change from100$. this place is fantastic really it is just like the commercials you see probably saw on the tv, unfortunately my only problem with this place is that the prices aren't really all that terrific, and the produce do have dents and minor chips just like you'd see at any other store like food-town for example which by the way is a hell of alot more cheaper than these guys but not as nearly as nice and clean so you have the choice of either shopping at the pricer store thats cleaner and open 24-hours or the cheaper and dirtier one that open up until 12am(super food towns only) its really up to you, for me i'd much rather shop at shoprite, they have alot of beautiful girls that work there and omg the soccer moms looking all confused about whether little josh should have nesquick or milo etc...... read more

Sad to say but this grocery store is the best that your going to get in the immediate area. I am over in this area of Brooklyn once a week or so, so I like to pop in and pick up a few things that I either can not find in Manhattan or that are priced insanely cheaper....which are most things. You can find a huge variety of specialty foods, and if your Jewish you will love it even more! If your not Jewish don't come here on a Fri. this place is nuts! If you are from the Midwest like I am and you can't find your trailer trash staples like Spaghetti O's with hot dogs, this is a place where you will most likely find them. Although they do not have Fun Mallows (the mini pastel colored marshmallows) which I am frustrated about. I have seen a lot of bad reviews about their produce section but I have found that their produce is WAY better than pathetic C-Town, or any of the other vermin infested food markets. If your that picky buy them a Tomato King across the street or hike it to Whole Foods downtown. I actually feel sorry for Brooklynites because they really do not have a lot of decent grocery stores. Hopefully they can get Fresh Direct in this area soon. read more

This is where I do my "major" family shopping because there is parking, a huge inventory with lots of great deals, and, if you go on Saturday mornings, it isn't crowded. Be sure to get a Shop Rite discount card -- hand it over to the polite clerk (so much nicer than any Key Food) at the end and watch those dollars come off. So it is almost 20 degrees outside, I park my car in the garage and as I am replacing a light bulb, a manager rolls in and asks me if he "can help me". I tell him "no". So he stands there and glares at me as I try to work. And then he tells me that I am not allowed to do car repairs there. What is wrong with people who hired him? Are you people for real? I wouldn't let a dog be outside in such cold, yet here I was in nearly empty garage and he was giving me hard time. I hope he ends up homeless and dies from frostbite. read more

The great thing about this place is that it's open 24 hours so in the middle of the night if I need something I can just run there and buy it. The prices are so so-so but sale item prices are great! They carry a lot of different items that other supermarkets don't carry so that's a plus. Although the store gets very crowded I've never really had to wait in line a long time at the checkout which is also good. The parking lot is a little confusing and annoying if you're not giving it 100% attention. read more

I am very surprised I haven't gotten around to writing a review of this store yet. I've been coming here for years, and remember when it first opened. I'd come here with my aunt, who is like a grandmother to me, and we'd spend many hours here. Frankly, it's the nicest supermarket in all of Brooklyn. The prices and selection are superb, and customer service is top notch. They give you no qualms or trouble when you want to return something. It's a pleasure to deal with them. They have just about everything here, including an excellent kosher section. I love that they are open 24 hours, and if you want to go grocery shopping late at night or very early in the morning, you can. Very convenient for working people, and it's nice to avoid crowds that way. It seems as if all of Brooklyn shops here, and I think it's a delight to come here every time. Prices are much cheaper than any other supermarket, and surprisingly, even kosher items are cheaper here than in the kosher stores. I've purchased frozen chopped liver, Yoni's ravioli, Eden frozen broccoli, sodas, Shop Rite brand kosher chicken soup, superb challah, and other items at the best of prices. The employees are also the sweetest, and many of them have an "I Am Sam: charm about them. They offer gainful employment to individuals with special needs, and that is a dignified and profound thing, in my opinion. I would suggest to avoid around Thursday-Friday, as that is shabbos preparation time, and things can be hectic. read more
