Katsu chicken and shrimp mix plate, 2 Pc Spam Brulee Musubi
Joycelyn C.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon and it was quite busy for us to order our food but fairly quick for them to give our order! It has quite a few seating spots in the front of the shop but there's also seating areas throughout Rodeo 39. We ordered the katsu chicken and shrimp mix plate and the spam brûlée musubi. The flavors were so delicious with their kimchi butter really making the dish! And I loved the brûlée on the spam musubi. I'd say this wouldn't be the place for veggies but would definitely come here again!

Shootz is a fusion concept located inside Rodeo 39 Public Market, offering a creative selection of Hawaiian and Asian-inspired comfort food. From the start, the service was excellent and easily one of the highlights of our visit. The cashier was exceptionally kind and even apologized for the wait, generously applying his employee discount to our order to make up for it. Despite the initial delay, our food was ready within 10 minutes. **Spam Brûlée Musubi: 5/5** Nestled between layers of freshly steamed rice, the grilled spam was coated in a glossy teriyaki-style glaze. Creamy kimchi aioli was drizzled on top, while the brûléed brown sugar formed a thin caramelized crust that added a pleasant sweetness and delicate crunch with each bite. It was so good that we ended up getting a second order. **Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken Sandwich: 5/5** This sandwich featured incredibly crispy panko-fried chicken that remained tender and juicy beneath its golden crust, smothered in hot kimchi butter that provided a subtle acidity and gentle heat. A touch of brûléed brown sugar introduced a sweet contrast to the savory fried chicken, while the kimchi aioli and macaroni salad brought a mellow creaminess that balanced its richness. Rounding out the sandwich was the Hawaiian bun, which was soft and moist yet nicely toasted on the exterior. **Hot Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken & Katsu Shrimp Mixed Plate: 5/5** The mixed plate was another standout, combining their signature chopped katsu chicken with lightly battered shrimp drenched in hot kimchi butter. The shrimp had a light crispness that gave way to a succulent, snappy bite, while the sauce delivered a bold, umami-forward flavor. Accompanying the proteins were rice and their house-made macaroni salad, which incorporated shredded tuna and mashed hard-boiled eggs into a mayonnaise-based dressing finished with a sprinkle of paprika. These additions elevated an otherwise unassuming side with unexpected depth and complexity. Between the outstanding hospitality and impressive execution, Shootz exceeded expectations across the board, earning its place as my go-to whenever I'm at Rodeo 39.

One of the only places in Rodeo where it's actually a good deal. We got the katsu meal (comes with mac and rice), splitting it comfortably between two people. Pretty tasty, almost as good as real Hawaiian food. Service is also very fast and there's a nice outdoor patio with seating next to it.

Came From a TikTok! Saw a tiktok and this looked delicious, found the nearest location and actually had it delivered via UberEats. Ordered the following: * Kimchi Butter Katsu Chicken * 2 pc Spam Brulee Musubi The chicken was DELICIOUS and moist! With a little crunch from the outside. So good. The rice was yummy, but I'm an easy fan of rice. The macaroni salad was good. The Spam Brulee Musubi was very good as well. Overall, I enjoyed it for sure! Not sure if I'd go out of my way to get though.

Good Musubi but the ube beignet on this day was very doughy but did not taste like ube at all

I asked for All Mac and Cheese and I received all rice. The receipt even says All Mac. I tried calling to let you guys know my order isn't correct but no one answered my multiple calls. Please do better.

A year later and i wanted the same thing as i got last time: katsu plate and spam musubi. And once again, so good! I'm happy to see that quality has not gone down. Service and food was fast. Ambiance is in a food court at rodeo 39. Happy that this place has stayed despite the frequent rotations of other establishments in this food hall!

I came here to meet my friend on a Thursday night - it was my first time trying this place and I was pretty excited to check it out. The katsu was actually very, very good - I've never had a kimchi butter dish before so I was pretty impressed by how tasty it was. I found the musubi to be a little too heavy with all the mayo unfortunately. For first-timers, definitely recommend just getting the katsu! Overall, great casual dining experience. The workers are very personable and helpful as well, so shoutout to them!

Ube beignets FTW

Located inside the Rodeo 39 Public Market. I came here strictly to grab some beignets. Already had lunch and the ube beignets were the perfect dessert. Not too dense, crisp outside and nice fluffy inside with good ube flavor. Must order these through the app but service was quick. A few tables immediately in front but otherwise plenty around the food hall. Overall good vibe. If in the area, must try

Shootz hits the spot for Hawaiian comfort food! The kimchi butter katsu chicken sandwich is packed with flavor. The chicken is super tender and the mac and cheese salad is creamy. Definitely a must try spot!

I was lucky enough to score a kimchi butter katsu sando at the Shootzgiving event today! I've only heard great things about this place so I was very much looking forward to it. The staff were well prepared for the event and very friendly while we waited in line. The sando was an explosion of flavor and textures in my mouth, the katsu was so moist and tasty, warm inside and crispy outside. The mac salad was creamy and delicious. I could've eaten 10 of them easily, it was absolutely amazing! Mahalo Shootz for this incredible event giving back to the community. Bravo!

The food is delicious, but it is a bit pricy. If you're looking for a nice Hawaiian treat, they definitely serve good quality food.

Matiki Island BBQ on Lincoln in Anaheim is the kind of place that makes a family dinner feel easy…read more We went for the island BBQ plate energy, and it delivered. The beef ribs were really good, big and properly cooked, the kind of meat you actually talk about on the way home. The galbi was right there with them, savory and satisfying, and between the two we were set. The kids loved the spam musubi. That alone would have made the stop worth it for us. Spam musubi is one of those things that either works for kids or turns into a negotiation, and here there was no negotiation. They were happy, which meant the adults got to eat in peace for a minute. Dessert sealed it. They have a version of Dole Whip that tastes just like Disneyland. I am not being cute about that. Same soft, cold, pineapple hit you remember from the park, which is a wild thing to get after a plate of ribs in Anaheim. We finished full and already half-planning the next visit. One caveat: it was really smoky inside. Enough that I noticed it the whole meal. If I could give 4.5 I would, but I'm rounding up because the food was that good. Portions felt solid for a plate-lunch place, the vibe was casual and family-friendly, and nothing about the meal felt fussy. If you want Hawaiian-style BBQ with kids in tow, this is still an easy yes. Five stars.
