Jeanine and Joe were especially knowledgeable making the entire process extremely educational. Both new everything I needed to complete the process and were able to help me with my town application too. Joe's experience was especially helpful when it came to firing at the range. At no point did I feel uncomfortable handling a fire arm. He's a very good instructor. In addition when I submitted my application to the town I live in today there was a bit of a hold up with the paper work at no fault of Goldeneye's. Jeannine was readily available by phone to assist and resolve the issue. As a business owner myself I was blown away with this type of service. They're main goal is clear. The most important thing about any place of business is going to be staff. The Staff here are friendly and it's a small community or family type atmosphere. The best part of this shop is the range. Nice and clean, great sound deadening, and the air is so clean. I spend a lot of time in the range so I really appreciate the air quality. Range is great for pistol shooting and some tactical shotgun and long guns. State of the art carrier system and all lanes are working. The place is usually busy but never really have had to wait more than a few minutes to get to a lane. Pricing is good for range time and there is an option for membership. The selection of rentals could be better but it's enough that if you have never shot you have a good selection. The store has a small selection of the most popular pistols and some long guns with decent prices. Overall the range, Store, and especially staff are great. And I highly recommend this place. This is the best indoor range with in 30 miles of my town I have been to in the area.

I was introduced to Alan and PP Plus through a friend who also took the class here. We did the course on a Wed. We only had 3 people in the class, two had never handled a gun before, one male one female. They both left pretty excited about the experience and shooting pretty well I was actually really impressed with Alans attention to Safety details but also he coached them on marksmenship. The class took a good portion of the day and then we went to the range where Alan had 10 guns of many different calibers and sizes for the class to shoot. NET NET what a great experience. I feel safe and secure with handguns after my time with Alan and Pistol Protection Plus. Really great experience. This is the place to get your concealed carry pistol permit in CT.

5 Stars - Highly Recommend!…read more I cannot say enough good things about my experience with the Pistol Certificate class at Safe and Secure! From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease, which was a huge deal for me--I came in with a real fear of guns. Dan, our instructor, completely transformed that fear into confidence and respect through his patient and professional approach. Dan is simply incredible. He has a calm, non-intimidating teaching style that puts even the most nervous students (like me!) at ease. He never rushed the process, took his time with each of us individually, and ensured that we understood the safety procedures, handling, and mechanics of a firearm before moving on. I never felt pressured or overwhelmed at any point during the training. One of the standout things about this class is how thorough and hands on it is. Dan not only explained the laws and safety rules clearly but also guided us step-by-step through all the state and local paperwork required to obtain our gun permits. He made sure everything was filled out correctly and answered every question with patience and clarity. What really impressed me was how focused the course was on safety, responsibility, and proper mindset. This wasn't just about checking a box to get a permit--this was real education and empowerment. By the end of the class, I felt confident, informed, and prepared--not just to legally own a firearm, but to handle one safely and respectfully. I'm honestly looking forward to taking more advanced classes with Dan and his wife in the future. If you're looking into getting your pistol permit, or if you're nervous like I was, don't hesitate, this is the class to take. You'll walk out smarter, safer, and stronger. Thank you for a great class and thank you for serving!

How about personality? I called Lisa the night before the class to see if she could squeeze me in. From the moment Lisa answered the phone right on through the entire class, she made me feel as though we have been close friends for years. She squeezed me into her class last minute and was obviously very accommodating (I called her at 6pm for a class that began at 10am the next morning). When I got to the class, not only did she greet everyone with a smile, but she laughed and joked with us to build an immediate rapport which made everyone feel extremely comfortable. Skills ... This is where I was a little skeptical. I've been shooting for many years (military and police) so I didn't think that I would get a whole lot out of a basic course, I kinda went in with a closed mind. Truthfully, I was only taking it as a prerequisite to an instructors course. But this is where I was beyond impressed. Lisa and Lynn have absolutely amazing skills. They broke the class down to the bare basics so that if this was your first time ever seeing a firearm, you would have an excellent understanding of firearms, the basics of their operations, and fundamentals, nomenclature, and of course safety. During the classroom portion Lisa expounded beyond the textbook to advance her students knowledge.... not gonna lie, I learned plenty from the classroom and this shocked me!!! When it came to the range and live fire scenarios, I watched Lynn and her team work one on one with every student. Some had never fired a gun before and others had years of experience. Somehow they managed to give us all so many tips and tricks that we all left being significantly better shooters than we were when we started the class. I have taken hundreds of different training courses throughout my career in law enforcement, fire services, and military. But I have never met an instruction with such passion, knowledge and skills as I have with Lynn and Lisa. I will definitely be taking ALL of their classes as we move forward. My wife and daughters will also be future students of Lisa and Lynn!!! I tip my hat to these amazing instructors, you truly are the best!!!
