From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and at ease, which was a huge deal for me--I came in with a real fear of guns. Dan, our instructor, completely transformed that fear into confidence and respect through his patient and professional approach. Dan is simply incredible. He has a calm, non-intimidating teaching style that puts even the most nervous students (like me!) at ease. He never rushed the process, took his time with each of us individually, and ensured that we understood the safety procedures, handling, and mechanics of a firearm before moving on. I never felt pressured or overwhelmed at any point during the training. One of the standout things about this class is how thorough and hands on it is. Dan not only explained the laws and safety rules clearly but also guided us step-by-step through all the state and local paperwork required to obtain our gun permits. Dan and his wife are extremely knowledgeable at what they do. They both are extremely patient and fair. Had some paperwork issues due to lack of help received filling out paperwork and it was encouraged to ease the process. The on hands shooting portion was set up safely and was made comfortable for new shooters. After researching other pistol permit classes I did find a place that charges $260 a couple and we paid $380 so that was also disappointing. read more

Dan does a phenomenal job, one of our co-workers enlightened us about his experience during class, and 6 of us decided to go ahead and take the course, 4 went with Dan's flexible schedule of 4 hour sessions on tues and thurs ( at the time of writing this ) and two went on the weekend for the all day class on Saturday. We learned nothing with our faces in a book it was an extremely hands on class that was nothing short of a great time. Dan really makes this class about you from the time you walk in and by the time you leave the range the jitters of shooting for the first time is definitely gone. By the end of this class we were able to answer every question asked of us. If you're looking for one of the best trainers in CT this guy should be your only stop. First time going for a gun ( multi state conceal pistol ) license. Had some personal family hick up before the date of the class and didn't reschedule on time, but dan were very understanding to it and professional. When I got to the class and realize all my fellow class mates had years of experience and already been in the service or currently is. So me being my first time I were very intimidated that I try to keep up with them during safety drills and knowledge. During lunch break spoke to Dan privately and told him. He gave me the confidence I need to do my best. After that it stop competing with them. I was more focus on all the informative information my instructor had on Safety and legal do's as well dont's. Second part of the class at the range I realize how the safety tips I learned from the proper way to hold a gun , my stance, shooting help me tremendously. Before I purchase my first gun I'm going take another lesson. I give dan professionalism A+. read more

I can honestly not speak highly enough of Dan and his program enough. I grew up around guns and had completed similar types of training before, but nothing came close to this class. Dan was exceptional. He displayed professionalism and patience and taught material in a hands on manner to insure that you would not only learn gun safety in the classroom, but remember the important principles and apply them long after you leave. The class was interactive and fun and I learned more than I ever thought that I could in this time period. Do not waste time going anywhere else, Dan will teach you everything you need to know and will make you want to take the class again for fun! Can't say enough about the instructor Dan. He is extremely knowledgeable and patient. I walked away from the class feeling much more comfortable handling a firearm. The amount of information given in that day long class was extensive but yet it was not overwhelming due to the way Dan taught.
