I did notice this last time as someone else mentioned below, I was there an hour and the owner went to charge me for 1.5 hours. I told him I had only been there an hour and he changed the bill, but that is never a good sign. In any case, the website says Monroe Shooting Sports has tons of different classes to try so I figured I would try one. As I was leaving the range I spoke to the owner about what might be best and he suggested a 1x1 "mini class" the following Tuesday (a week later) and I said great. The website shows "mini" classes as $89 for 1.5 hours...fine. I email him (his preferred method of communication) to confirm and he says bring pistol, holster and 100 rounds of ammo and I will shoot for an hour. Odd it's 1 hour instead of 1.5 but okay....when I asked why he didn't respond. The day of, he sends an email, doesn't even have the decency to call, and says "Sorry I need to cancel today I am not taking on any new clients, but please consider a private lesson." Obviously a very disorganized place. After talking to the owner the first time to decide what to try, most of what is on the website isn't really offered...ie the mini classes, TIPS Tuesday, etc. In any case, crappy experience and he didn't care enough to follow up which surprises me as it's so important to put best foot forward out with shooters...new or experienced. Too many places to shoot for bd service and follow-up.

We asked about a few items in the case and he didn't show us any of them. He stayed by the register talking to us from the other side of the store instead of close to us and the items we were looking at. Nobody else in store. He was smoking a cigar out front when we arrived. My friend I was with bought two firearms over the weekend from here and said the other gentleman is the informative one and the one to deal with, not the guy who is here today who can't lift a hand to help us or show us any of the merchandise in the cases. The most important thing about any place of business is going to be staff. The Staff here are friendly and it's a small community or family type atmosphere. The best part of this shop is the range. Nice and clean, great sound deadening, and the air is so clean. I spend a lot of time in the range so I really appreciate the air quality. Range is great for pistol shooting and some tactical shotgun and long guns. State of the art carrier system and all lanes are working. The place is usually busy but never really have had to wait more than a few minutes to get to a lane. Pricing is good for range time and there is an option for membership. The selection of rentals could be better but it's enough that if you have never shot you have a good selection. The store has a small selection of the most popular pistols and some long guns with decent prices. Overall the range, Store, and especially staff are great. And I highly recommend this place. This is the best indoor range with in 30 miles of my town I have been to in the area.

Though it doesn't have the bright lights and spaciousness of other spots, it does provide a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with no pressure to purchase. They really took the time to talk to me about what firearm I was looking for and which one would be suitable for my needs. After seeing several pistols I ended up purchasing a 1911 (for serious I was there for over an hour -- BEFORE the paperwork). I've compared prices between Bethany and Greyson's and it seems that Bethany usually has a better price point. Right now I'm looking for my second pistol (a 9mm) and will be returning to Bethany for my second purchase. FYI bring cash or personal check and avoid any additional fees -- it'll just be the quoted price plus tax!
