This is the FLAGSHIP STORE for Bass Pro Shops, and corporate spared no expense doing it right. A wonderfully designed and interpreted fantasy land including many taxidermied large game, beautifully painted murals, dioramas and the largest display of fishing poles on the planet (probably). Was at the Starbucks across the street and decided to stop by Bass Pro to show someone from out of town, how pretty it is inside. As soon as you enter there's a large fireplace with cozy seats. This place is very aesthetic with waterfalls, stuffed bears, and live fish swimming. I love the tall ceilings, there's even a bridge that connects one side of the upper level to the other. Makes me feel like I'm in a cabin in the woods. I'd like to add, this business is veteran friendly. They sell items that benefit veterans. They even have reserved parking spaces for them. From November 5th through Christmas Eve, all Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's locations are hosting "Santa's Wonderland". My family and I recently visited Santa's Wonderland at the Bridgeport location of Bass Pro Shops. We went for the first time last year and it was such a happy, stress-free experience that we decided to make it an annual family tradition. You no longer have to wait in long lines for overpriced photos and lackluster Santas. At Bass Pro Shops, customers can easily schedule an appointment online. You then show up at your scheduled time and immediately get a friendly visit with Santa and a free 4x6 photo documenting the visit. From there, you have the option of paying for additional photo packages. My family's recent visit to Santa's Wonderland was such a pleasant experience. We walked right in at our scheduled appointment time; no waiting at all. Although we are Jewish, we celebrate a secular Christmas in addition to Chanukah. (We happily display a Christmas tree in our house next to our menorah.) Santa Claus was just lovely and looked like he just arrived straight from the North Pole. My sons felt so comfortable around him and he treated them to some candy canes. He then wished us a 'Merry Christmas' AND a 'Happy Chanukah'. Our picture came out great and we decided to pay a little extra to have the digital version e-mailed to us. We will use it for our annual 'Chrismukkah' card! read more

I cannot believe I have not stopped in here before! Humongous store, decorated with taxidermied wild animals and birds throughout in their natural settings-really something special and very tastefully and creatively displayed. While this store contains hunting, fishing, camping, boating gear equipment and clothing for any imaginable outdoor activity, it really has so much more! They have boots, slippers, clothes and all most reasonably priced and I was able to pick up some decent priced well quality items for myself. Fun to just look around! Upon getting there I was told that they haven't stocked the item I wanted to purchase for a long time due to local restrictions. I spoke to the manager who offered no apologies, suggesting I order the item and come back to pick it up. Can I leave a no star review for the awful service i've experienced? After ordering two tree stands almost a month ago already, both boxes showed up mangled and one with missing parts. After contacting customer service they expedited a replacement box. Too bad that one also showed up mangled with missing parts. After contacting them again, and updating them on the situation, they "expedited" another tree stand, expect only after I called 3 more times because they never "closed the case and shipped it" after a week later. Fast forward another week, and it finally shows up (at some other address that isn't mine) thankfully I was able to track it down and obtain it. Too bad THAT ALSO HAS MISSING PARTS. They told me to stick the last box that had missing parts, into the new box when it arrives, since it showed up so damaged, too bad I can't do that cause now I'm down a box since this has to go back also. They also felt providing me with a $20 coupon that can only be used online was the best they could do. For such a huge-reputable company that i've been doing business with for YEARS, needless to say this was the worst experience. & it was so bad and went on for so long, the situation was never resolved that I won't be returning. I also see the other horrible reviews people have gone through as well. Wish I took the time to look into that before having to also have a terrible experience. I suggest finding a smaller local company to get your hunting stuff from and supporting them if you can. read more

Good store purchase my tracker here and several firearms over the years. Staff are friendly and helpful. Some process are a bit slower than smaller stores. They could streamline and expedite the firearm purchase process while still maintaining rigoirous control. Because it is slow processing I just tend to default purchases to other locations unless they are having a big sale. Not a huge selection for size of store either though read more

This Bass Pro Shop is off the 95, easy to spot and plenty of parking. My husband, our little girl dog (yes Bass Pro Shops are dog friendly) and I decided to make a stop here to use the restroom and also browse for a bit on Halloween evening. At the back of the store, right in front of the large aquarium tank, I was surprised to see a cute Halloween backdrop for children (and adults) to take photos in front of (but Bass Pro Shop always seems to do things around holidays for families). I just coincidently had my dog's panda hoodie in my purse (we went to a dog costume party earlier... and yes, I am one of those dog owners) and so I decided to put it on her and make use of the background. Anyways, as we browsed through the store, we had several friendly employees greet us and ask if we needed help with anything (I think they noticed our little girl first, which probably put them in a happy mood). I ended up purchasing a bag of hand warmers because the weather is just too cold for this native Southern California resident. The employee at the register was quick to ring up on item and then we were on our way. Service was friendly during our experience and the restrooms (which are right by the entrance of the store) were clean and adequately stocked with the essentials. For some reason, I really enjoy going to Bass Pro Shop, even when I am on vacation. I like to see how the store is laid out and decorated (each one is just slightly different). It is always fun to browse all the items in the store and always a bonus that I can bring my little girl with me when I shop. read more

Absolutely a fun experience. This Bass Pro Shop features a bar, bowling alley, acarde and of course fishing paraphernalia. Manikens of fish, shark and other sea life are hanging from the ceiling. The firearms department is as professional as it could possibly be. The entire staff is helpful and friendly. If I were running a business, I'd gladly hire any of these employees. The process is a bit time consuming--the only frustration. I only wish they had a couple sofas and chairs, and the background checks take a while. Finally, I noticed one woman's, Faith's, review bashing an employee named Leah. I know Leah. Leah has been super helpful to me, highly professional, and does not deserve the snarky review of a first time buyer. This is a busy department. No one would every have a reason to complain about any of these fine, highly professional employees. As for the rest of the store. I like their products and often go in to browse. They have a restaurant. The allow dogs in the rest of the store. Employees will walk you to wherever you need to go. They have a comfortable lounge area near the front door, which a senior citizen like myself can relax and rest a bit as needed. I tend to be critical of many businesses. Not Bass Proshops. We recently visited Santas Wonderland at the Bass Pro Shop. Immediately entering the Bass Pro Shop you are greeted with a gorgeously decorated tree and roaring fire place. We definitely had to stop and take a picture before we headed to Santa's Wonderland. Santa's wonderland is located in the rear of the store which is also beautifully decorated. Each family has a chance to take a picture with Santa and receive a free 4x6 photo. Additional photos are sold in a package. Reservations are required before visiting Santa's wonderland. During your visit, you can also venture around the store to see aquariums and cool wildlife displays. read more

Who would have thought that Bass Pro Shop would have thrived in Bridgeport? Clearly they are doing something right and I think I saw some of it the other night when I visited. I needed a container for gear at scout camp and the website showed that this location had one in stock. Each employee I encountered was helpful and friendly. For the greeter to the cashiers they made me feel welcome. Now this store is HUGE! And they have a pond and a waterfall. Crazy? I know. The massive edifice covers ever but of outdoor gear and Boats!!! I'll be back if there is a future need. read more

Bass Pro Shops in Bridgeport Ct is a beautiful store that you can walk around in for hours and have a great experience with your family and friends! I have one major concern though... There is a very bad black mold infestation that I saw all over the place, mainly on the entire wall/ceiling spanning over the main entrance. I was actually able to smell it when standing on the second floor by the archery/tree stands and it may have irritated my throat. I know it wont be cheap to resolve this but for the sake of our health and well being please do something about this! Other than that, beautiful store. read more

Had three different occasions of being ignored and just several unsatisfactory attempts to buy ammo. The one time I brought ammo, I later found 2 or 3 rounds were missing out of each box. Didn't know that that was a thing. Lesson learned, I will check from now on. I've had a employee behind the counter look right at my copper cinnamon complexion and blatantly walk away. I've had another man not greet, but tell me what I couldn't do before I even uttered a word out of my mouth. It was in the 7pm hour and they close at 8, he ASSumed I was purchasing a firearm. I wasn't, only looking to purchase ammo. Today 3/1/2024 you'd think it was Jim Crow. Out of 4-5 guys in green staff shirts and only the youngest is helping a man at th desk. While the rest behind the desk look at me,yet never greet, just ignore and continue chatting in their clique. Besides 9mm ammo there was low, they had mostly FMJ and I only went to Bass Pro because I was gonna use my Fetch point gift card. But now I see why this place that pays Bridgeport no taxes, is like an empty museum. Some upstairs staff needs to Evolve. The staff and managers that greet at the door are nothing but welcoming though. Put those biased unhelpful guys in shoes or something. read more

I went to this location tonight to purchase multiple items (boots, carhartt overalls, hat, etc). I started off by going to the boot section. I stood there for 15 minutes and literally could not find a single person to help me. After walking around, I found someone and asked if he could assist me with boots which he told me he couldn't and someone should be in that section. I proceeded to the find the Carhartt overall's. While trying to find the right item, I asked a male for assistance which he said he was busy helping someone else and would send someone my way. After 10 minutes, again nobody showed up. After about 25 wasted minutes, I just proceeded to walk out of the store and didn't buy anything. If this is how this business operates, I will never return. read more

We visited the Bass Pro Shop for the 1st time this to visit Santa at the Winter wonderland exhibit. We went on a weeknight and arrived 20 minutes prior to Santa's arrival and there was no line. The set up and decor are very festive and beautifully decorated. There are several fun activities set up throughout the space for children of all ages to entertain themselves while waiting. Included with meeting Santa is a free photo to take home with the option to purchase more. From the store greeter, to Santa's elves everyone we came into contact with was very pleasant. Easy access immediately off the highway, well lit parking lot make for an overall great experience. read more

This place is huge. I've been to Bass Pro Shops before just not this one and they are pretty similar. Unfortunately this is the closet one as there are none in New York. They pretty much have everything you can think of for out door living. Huge parking lot and there's a restaurant and even a bowling alley on site though I did not see either on this visit. I pretty much came here to browse the fishing gear so I didn't walk around much besides in that area. There are two levels here and you can pretty much spot what each section has because the store is in such a wide open space. Unfortunately, either due to the pandemic or just later in the season but alot of the fishing rods and some of the gear had empty shelves. They weren't too many options available as far as reels and combo rods and reels. There were a few sales folks walking around but I ended up not needing their help. I will be back but hopefully the shelves are a better stocked next time around. read more
