Unbelievably great experience at Wesco…read more I'm a big, 6'2 beer league goalie with a size 15 shoe who always has a hard time finding gear, particularly skates. After speaking with Andrew who runs the pro shop (a smaller satellite Wesco store) at the Stamford Twin Rinks, he recommended I go see Nick at the main Wesco store in Brookfield. Having already spent an hour driving from the Bronx to Stamford, I was hesitant to drive another hour for gear - but I am glad I did. Andrew called Nick and informed him I was coming up, and when I arrived Nick was prepared and ready to get me fitted with a VERY gently used pair of Bauer skates that fit like a glove. I went in thinking I would try on some skates, find a pair and size I liked, and then shop around online, but when Nick said the price was $150, I couldn't leave without them (Mind you, the skates were last years model and used, but they were in perfect condition). I was in and out in about 30 minutes with a pair of skates that had been heat molded to my foot and sharpened on site to perfection. Can't thank Nick (and Andrew in Stamford!) enough for their dedication to providing the best gear and service around. I will not shop for goalie gear anywhere else again. Thank you Andrew, Nick, and Wesco!!!

Especially for goalie gear, this is one of the best stores as the goalie specialists are very knowledgeable about proper fitting and models, and are also fun to chat with. Although the prices for the gear are the same as all other hockey/goalie stores, they do have a very wide selection and also some used gear if you're looking to buy discounted equipment for a lot less and don't mind if it's been used a little.

SELECTION: As I walked around the shop I was mentally trying to make sense of the concept, as with each turn around a shelf there was a new collection of items on display. Among the collections I saw, there were a variety of seeds, dog collars, coffee mugs, tee shirts, fishing lures, and coffee. I've never had to wait too long in line to get checked out so really can't complain. For clothing, I have to say this Dick's is great although for service it's not terrific so I figure that equals a three star rating.

The website showed that the item I wanted was in stock, so I drove approximately an hour and a half out of my way specifically to purchase it. If the item was defective and unavailable for purchase, why was it being counted as available inventory on the website?

I've tried that Dr. Scholl machine at Walmart which tells you which insole you should get. They worked for a while, went to sketchers by Walmart and got their arch fit shoes. I hated them. Returned them the next day. I went to the podiatrist who recommend me grabbing a better quality shoe such as Brooks, New Balance or Ascis. He told me to get the Superfeet green insole and also recommended me to this shoe store in Bethel. As soon as I left that office I drove right to this store. I was greeted by Leah, she was fantastic. She sat me down, asked what I do for work, what am I looking for in a shoe. She measured for my shoe size and got at least 3-4 pairs to try on. All brands the doctor recommended. She had me try on each pair and had me walk back and forth, making sure my posture was in proper form, and to ensure my balance in the shoes were good. Unfortunately they did not have the Superfeet Green insole in my size (popular item). Leah had recommended alternative brands of insole, which I did try but I wanted to stick with the doctor recommendation, she was extremely respectful of that, even agreed stick with the doctors recommendation. She did not try to push anything on me, so I ordered a pair on Amazon. I ended up buying two pairs of shoes from the store. Brooks and Ascis and I love them. Very comfortable. I was extremely pleased with my experience at this store. Without a doubt I will be returning in the future.
