Anyway, after scouring her special 'shoe closet' I had to build to contain her hobby I located them. Making a command decision on my own I went to this cobbler in Ct since our very very local one has retired. I was EXTREMELY surprised at the work done. They came back polished and all the tiny nics on the heel leather had been fixed as best as possible but they look as good as new. This store is great for runners and athletes, as well as anyone with foot problems. It's small and low-key so you get one-on-one attention. The owner is friendly and knowledgeable. The shoe prices are in line with other shoes (locations) in their respective category. This was the first time I've been asked to remove my shoes and walk so he could see my arch. I felt comfortable with the sale, not pressured to buy. I was given 2 options that would work best for me and I chose the New Balance since I was familiar with the name. After asking around, the other option was a well-known name, just not by me lol. They also carry socks, gloves, shirts, and many accessories needed for running and other physical activities. Again it's low-key so it's easy to pass and I wouldn't have given this place a second look if I hadn't sought it out. The entrance and parking lot is in the back of the building. This place was recommended by a podiatrist so I just passed along the information. Gotta keep my feet fresh, healthy, and working properly for as long as possible!!!

Ski department technicians -- shout out to Pete this year!! -- are helpful, knowledgable, kind and patient with wiggly kids. Children's skis and boots have, in our experience, been in fair to excellent shape -- which can't be an easy standard to maintain given the demographic. Prices for non-sale items are not low. (Obermeyer jackets go for MSRP in November.) If you wait for their seasonal sales, though, you can find some excellent deals. It's true that there's often a wait during busy times of the year (i.e. weekends just before ski season). But staff hustle as much as possible, while still taking the time to do a good job and ensure a good fit. Great small business!
