I want to love this place because it's been here my whole life, but every time I go in there, the employees are incredibly rude! They do not offer any help and always seem annoyed when you ask questions. I love supporting local small businesses, but I've tried several times with Blanchette's and the lack of customer service just completely turns me off. Terrible! They charge your credit card immediately. Then when the item doesn't show up for months they give you the run around. They promise someone will call you and you end up calling back again and again. Convenient for them, there is only one person that can help you. Wow! One person Does it all! I have been here twice with daughter, today being my second time. Both times have been great experiences! As soon as we walk in someone asks if there's anything they could help with. My daughter needed new cleats for lacrosse, they asked for her size went back and got her a pair they fit perfect. Then asked if we needed socks went and grabbed those for us, and a mouth guard. He even carried it all up to the register for us. I also spent less then I probably would have spent at Bob's so I was even happier about my trip. There were 3 others sets of people in there they didn't seem overwhelmed and they were very attentive and friendly. read more

This is our first visit. The staff were OK but seemed overwhelmed by the few customers they had. Good selection. Prices seemed fine.

Just got an old glove restrung and am not impressed at all. The 'restorer' seemed like he would put a lot of time into the job when talking to him, but failed to do so. Even for the reasonable price, it is not completely done. Lace does not match the glove and it's even not fully re-laced, pretty pathetic in my opinion. Seemed like they had more important things to do and did this simply for the revenue. Will most likely not shop at again. I have had the displeasure of dealing with this company several times over the past few years and it is always an issue. As my daughter was part of the CIAC we often had to order apparel and now I have a child in a college program that also had apparel ordered through Blanchette. This company is disgraceful. They charge your credit card as soon as the order is placed, tell you when to expect the item based on when the "store closes" for those items and then they NEVER deliver by the date promised. Bobbie lies when you reach out to him. He tried telling me on 1/8 that orders started shipping the Friday before - January 1st!!! Really, Bobbie! And right on their facebook page it says they were closed 1/1-1/3! When he finally did ship my order he chose the cheapest, slowest method - postal. But have no fear, he charged me $16 for shipping which was significantly less that the post office charged him! And when we did FINALLY receive our order the logos were not straight. My credit card was charged on 11/5, the order was SUPPOSED to be delivered by 12/9, it was not received until 1/19 and it is poor quality. I'm so glad I never have to deal with this company again! Blachette's is a unique store that has been a part of the Shelton community a long time. They cater to the local sports teams. If you need a uniform, it's self-serve. Everything is pretty clearly marked/labeled. It's not the kind of store you'd go in for yourself to buy the latest sports gear, like Sports Authority. I've only gone a handful of times, and have gotten what I need. But, to acknowlege the previous review, customer service could improve by helping customers feel more welcomed and appreciated for their business. read more
