I want to Dick's looking for Hoka shoes, after searching for the brand on line and finding that Dick's was the local seller. At the store, I discovered that the shoe department was sort of a "no contact" arrangement. I had to find the shoe myself and take it to a kiosk where I scanned a tag to request a pair to try on. Instructions told me to stay by the kiosk and someone would bring the shoes to me. There were five young people in the shoe department, but none were actually engaging with customers, just their cell phones. I waited for nearly 20 minutes before I gave up and left. They have a good selection of shoes, and if my experience was typical, they'll never run out. I bought the $179 shoes on line, but not from Dick's. read more

The place where you can find anything and everything sporting goods. They have it all and then some. If you are looking for sporting equipment, sport wear or sneakers they have it. They have two floors to be able to shop at and you will find a range of goods which are cheap and affordable all the way up to specialty items which are a bit on the pricey side. Shopping with my teenaged daughter. She was responsibly and respectfully trying out a treadmill. Staff member approached and began scolding her (she really was not doing anything wrong) until they spotted me looking at a rack next to her. I understand that they get kids in there messing around with things they shouldn't. This was not the case, and I believe they overacted without observing the entire situation, and in an extreme, aggressive manner. I was here twice and the place is huge. but it is extremely difficult to find what you maybe looking for. It's also hard to find people to help you. They need better customer service. In one case they did not have what we were looking for which is fine but we noticed the lack of organization and how difficult it was to find people to offer any kind of direction. The worst service I have ever experienced. I intended on purchasing a kayak and the accessories and had selected one but ended up leaving after waiting a half hour for assistance with the boat. I asked several employees for help but none were willing to aid me or find someone who would. Additionally the employees I hunted down were rude and stand offish even though there was very few other customers in the store. This Dicks location is huge! It has what just about anyone would come looking for at a big box sporting goods store. Of course, if you're out for a rare or specialty sporting item, you may not find it here, but at no fault of the store itself. There are even two levels of goods to shop around for. The store is large, clean and relatively organized for such a store attached to a large mall. They have their own outdoor parking lot (so you can avoid the mall garage if possible). Customer service has been friendly and helpful on all my visits. One particular encounter struck me (and prompted me to write this review). I went in the day after Christmas to exchange a running outfit that was the wrong size. We went to the rack first to grab the right sizes before standing in the post-Christmas line. The line actually ended up moving quickly and when I got to the register, the cashier was unbelievably friendly for someone dealing with the heinous position that is the returns desk the day after Christmas...god bless her dear soul!!! We didn't have any form of receipt but we did have the credit card that was used to pay originally. It was SO easy - we simply slid the card and she refunded the original amount then scanned in the new items. Which, by the way, were cheaper because they were on sale - BONUS! I told my husband he should get the wrong size every year...ha! I was beyond pleased that the entire encounter of coming and going took us about 5 minutes! All in all, this is a great Dicks location and one I plan to continue frequenting whenever I'm in the area and in need of any type of sporting or outdoor fodder. read more

Nestled in the behemoth that is the Westfield Shoppingtown Milford, this Dick's is a 2-level monstrosity consisting of everything one needs for sports and play. You need beach stuff? They have it (like turtle island floaties!). You need athletic gear? They have that. Basically, Dick's has everything you need for sports-related goodness. read more

Terrible customer service. The only reason I bought shoes from there was because they were so cheap. The sales associates are plain rude. I called back and complained though because they gave me mismatched shoes....the manager on the phone was very apologetic but when I went to the store I got an attitude from a different manager. On a Sunday morning, I needed golf clothes and was on my way to Golf Galaxy. A block before them, I saw Dick's so decided to stop in. Mistake. Major waste of time. Went into mall door where there was a Dick's sign, took escalator upstairs and walked to their door. Closed. Though I could see people inside. Noticed a sign saying that you had to enter via their parking lot entrance due to mall hours. Why? Johnny Rockets was open outside there... Mall was open! So got back into my car and drove around building and up ramp where there was construction all around entrance and inconvenient parking. Went in. Wandered around ground floor looking for a Golf sign or store directory. Nothing. Went back to entrance to find csr who told me Golf section was upstairs and I couldn't miss it. Find a tiny golf section with very limited selection. Noticed a rack in the kids section that seemed to have bigger shirts and realized it was a sales rack with Men/women golf apparel mixed up on it. No identification on rack with "Sales!" or anything else. Was amazing I noticed it. Found 2 potential items. Started looking for fitting room or someone I could ask. No one. Put items back and walked back to escalator. Noticed minuscule fitting room sign just before top of escalator. Didn't bother to go back to get items or see if even unlocked. I mean it is retail so you need to take customer service with a grain of salt but I have never had such a bad experience here that I felt that I needed to call the manager about. Extremely bad customer service. The manager of the store in Irving, Sherwin was very rude and I don't even know how is he even being appointed as a manager. He didn't care if I complain and very frequently asked me to just leave the store. First of all, he did not know how to do online returns and kept telling me to go to another store. I am never going to Dicks anymore and would not recommend to anyone. From Golf equipment to bicycles I have bought great things at Dicks I bought an off the floor tead mill I have had for 4 years now and it still runs good, I Bought my mountain bike at Dick's andthe staff was very helpfull and the golf section is great they have all th eitems you need fron begginer to expert. read more

Awful service, avoid going here as much as you can!!! I bought an elliptical machine 20 days ago, pay for installation and after 5 days of use machine fail, damage beyond repare my carpet. I called and since then the awful service started, every time I called they transfer the call at least 3 times after telling 3 times my story, no follow up at all, they don't care. I will return the machine and never purchase anything there. Hope this experience ends soon. read more

Been there several times for sneakers, and overall the sales people (if you can find one) actually seem to know what they are talking about and have never tried to up-sell me. Have looked at their clothing, but I find it is so seriously overpriced and their "sales" are not really sales at all, but the same old recycled promotions they always have. Years ago we also bought a small gas grill there, RoadTrip LXE 2-Burner Portable Propane Grill, and it has lasted many years, so we needed a new one. The weird thing is that the pricing ranged from $130 to over $200. Seems price changes like New England weather. Finally we got it from Wal Mart for $110. Parking at Dick's is also semi-easy, even though its located in a horrible mall. Can go to the second level of the garage and walk right in. Can avoid the parking madness on the ground. Too bad it takes some time to get thru the cash register, since they spend too much wasted time selling their "point" system, credit cards, etc read more
