Once checked in, nothing happened for 15m, only to find out I have to redo the process. I went inside to call them; it hung up on me. I redid the check in process (which was now irrelevant), and they STILL couldn't find the car; I had to go chasing them down. Totally defeats the purpose. The entire process was 30m.

We asked about a few items in the case and he didn't show us any of them. He stayed by the register talking to us from the other side of the store instead of close to us and the items we were looking at. Nobody else in store. He was smoking a cigar out front when we arrived. My friend I was with bought two firearms over the weekend from here and said the other gentleman is the informative one and the one to deal with, not the guy who is here today who can't lift a hand to help us or show us any of the merchandise in the cases. We'll be back but not when this guy is here.

The manager in the store is crooked…read more I recently bought 1/4 inch close body turnbuckles. Someone had stolen two off my boat. It turned out this size was too small. I returned to the store to get a refund, dropping them off in the front and walking to the back to see if they had the next size up. They did not. So I decided to order these and 5/16 of an inch--2 of them. Leaving the store and sitting in my car I stopped and paused a moment to check my receipt. I did not know what the cost was. I was stunned to see the receipt only covered the return of the quarter inch turned buckles and did not have the amount billed for the 5/16 turnbuckles. I returned inside and asked for a copy the purchase receipt and got a mumbo-jumbo, tap dance, and the manager refused to give me a receipt. Based on the behavior of the manager and his sketchy attitude I decided to cancel the order. I returned to the store told the manager I wanted to cancel the order. He gave me some bull story that one was shipped already which was impossible. This all occurred within 10 minutes. Next he told me he would need five minutes to take care of it and told me to wait outside. I thought that was very rude. I decided to go to the back of the store and buy some rope which I did and when I returned to the front desk I was again told I couldn't have a receipt for both the order and canceled order. A few days later, I saw the refund for the original purchase that I returned and then a charge for the new purchase but no refund. Since I didn't have a receipt I immediately filed a dispute with my bank. Since then I got a bunch of mumbo-jumbo about a restocking charge and shipping. What the heck? There was no shipping! There was no restocking. I canceled within 10 minutes. All because the manager refused to give me receipts. West Marines position is my $89 refund for the 1/4 turnbuckles was the refund for the 5/16 turnbuckles less shipping and restocking charges. It would be immediately apparent to anyone senior in the company, that the amounts support my case, not this bogus tap dancing invented story of the manager. And 30 years using this store. I have never been denied receipts for any purchase or return. This is a standard operating procedure for this company. The manager used this as justification to charge me for restocking on items that were never shipped and shipping for items that were never shipped. This manager needs to be fired. He has no integrity. Either that or he is being ordered by his superiors to screw people over this way. I suppose it's possible that he's under so much pressure to turn a profit that he undertakes despicable and reprehensible behavior. Worse of all I have been trying to contact the West Marine Corporate office and they do not allow an outsider to speak to a human being. I later found that my initial charge was processed after the return was credited. Not sure why. This all could have been avoid if I was given a receipt for my second purchase and a receipt for its return. I was entitled to both.

The most important thing about any place of business is going to be staff. The Staff here are friendly and it's a small community or family type atmosphere. The best part of this shop is the range. Nice and clean, great sound deadening, and the air is so clean. I spend a lot of time in the range so I really appreciate the air quality. Range is great for pistol shooting and some tactical shotgun and long guns. State of the art carrier system and all lanes are working. The place is usually busy but never really have had to wait more than a few minutes to get to a lane. Pricing is good for range time and there is an option for membership. The selection of rentals could be better but it's enough that if you have never shot you have a good selection. The store has a small selection of the most popular pistols and some long guns with decent prices. Overall the range, Store, and especially staff are great. And I highly recommend this place. So it's really a non-issue. The staff is awesome! And I don't think their prices are that far off others.. yeah if you get the other places on a sale, you may get a better deal blah blah blah. However, they're close, just like the other stores in this area, and can order anything you want from their online catalogue. I think it's somewhat humorous when people write negative reviews, because they try to pin all the responsibility for the poor outcome on the staff or store. When in all reality, the perspective consumer is just whining about not doing their due diligence and being an informed shopper.. Like I said, they're good guys here.. Support your local gun shops..
