    Turkey Dinner.
    Christine B.

Stopped in for lunch. It was our first time here. My husband got the Turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, gravy, and dressing. I ordered the dumplings, green beans, and dressing. The hubs loved his meal. I enjoyed mine, however my dumplings and stuffing was barely warm (the only reason why they didn't get a 5). The rolls were very good! We will definitely go back.

This is just the front of the menu but wanted to let you know because it has all their information, their address and phone number.

This is an amazing restaurant in the area. One of the best I would say in the state. It's always amazing good food at prices you can afford to eat at. Amazing homemade everything. They have a great salad bar. Very efficient, friendly staff. One of our favorite servers is Marie. She does such a great job keeping our glasses full and puts a big smell on her face. She is just so sweet and accommodating.

Turkey plate with plasticizing uranium yellow gravy(?)

Well. The wait was long. The surrounding conversations were interesting. The service was... impatient at best. The food was astoundingly flavorless. There was a gelatinous yellow gravy (?) on my Turkey plate (highly reviewed on yelp) that had a sort of plasticizing "nothing" effect, coating the hidden turkey, stuffing and potatoes. My children's burgers were also bland. One kid said the patty actually tasted like peanut butter and then started gagging. The cornbread was delicious.

Pictures don't do it justice. Turkey, dressing, 2 sides w/cornbread and cranberry relish. Delicious.

Comfort food, pure and simple. The menu has a good selection. I had my favorite turkey and dressing with green beans and broccoli. It came with cornbread and a coarse chopped homemade cranberry relish. I honestly expected pre-sliced turkey but this was the real deal. The beans were well seasoned. The broccoli was steamed. I really wanted a slice of the gorgeous chocolate cream pie in the desert case I spotted. But I couldn't finish my meal. My leftovers were enough for another meal. My first visit I had the soup and salad bar which was very good and included desert. I've been twice now and will go back many times. They were very busy both times I was there.

    Delicious breakfast.

Delightful, deliciously good quality food locally sourced served at unbelievable low prices. Excellent service and friendly staff. A locally owned and operated restaurant serving large portions, so bon appétit!

Since my youth this place (once granny k's) and now, Shonets has been in my life. The food is consistently good- just like Maw Maw made!

First time going and the service was okay. It was a little slow though. The food was great, but nothing outstanding about the place overall.

The food is normally very good. My main complaint is the time it takes to get food period. After over 30 mins i think its ridiculous!!

A typical family style dining experience. Pork chop special on Wednesday night was good. No issues with any of the food or service.

    Ask the Community - Shonet's

Is it pronounced Shonet's like comet or Shonet's like ballet?

I believe it is "show-nets", or at least that is how I pronounce it. Another local favorite is "Shoney's" and is pronounced "show-knees" ...

I received a text to confirm the reservation and the morning of the reservation I got a phone call, wishing us a happy anniversary and confirming our reservation. We arrived early as traffic was lite an we were excited. Upon arrival we were greeted an again wish a happy anniversary and promptly seated by Dottie, the maître D. Dottie introduced us to our server, Joelle and while Joelle got us water, Dottie explained the menu and gave us so many recommendations that we already knew we would have to come back. Joelle returned and asked if we were ready to order. We said no but wanted to start with a dozen oysters. After the oysters arrived Joelle returned and asked about our order. We ordered a 14 oz bone in dry aged ribeye, scalloped potatoes and green beans. While we waited for our meal, Joelle kept checking in on us without hovering. She never let out water glasses go empty and was just perfect. When the steak arrived, it was split table side and served to us individually. The sides were served family style and a generous portion. The steak was cooked to perfection and tender as can be! The potatoes were perfectly seasoned and I think the beans were finished with a drizzle of olive oil that was delicious. Throughout the meal, Joelle continued to check on us and my wife made the comment that she never stopped by when we had food in our mouths. I finally had to comment to Joelle, anyone can bring food from the kitchen to the table, but it takes skill and dedication to be a career waitress and she had it in spades. Though stuffed, Joelle asked about dessert an we asked what they offered. We settled on I think they called it huffmans ice cream, but whatever you call it, we called it delicious. My wife said she would only eat a bite or two. She lied! She couldn't stop eating this perfect balance of vanilla ice cream, fresh raspberries, cherries and a giant chocolate truffle. Oh! I almost forgot, we ordered a bottle of Post & Beam Cabernet Sauvignon. Their wine, bourbon and specialty cocktail selections is fantastic. My wife wants to go back next week. My only warning is to go hungry, and if you are lucky enough to have Joelle serve you, prepare to leave a good tip because she is worth every penny!

We planned a trip to Williamsburg, VA over the week after Christmas. Coming from SoIN/Louisville KY area we are going I-64 E. About 200 miles later (and about 20 miles round trip out of the way) we ended up at Hillbilly Hot Dogs. So about the food... you'll see the pics of the dogs we ordered. Not fantastic hot dogs, but a good experience. The service was impeccable. If you left a tip the cashier sang a song. She had a really nice voice too! This place has a 3 choices for huge hot dogs with a couple of pounds of toppings. The Homewrecker, the Widowmaker, and Pick Yer Wrecker. We saw a guy and his wife eating one as we were leaving, and it was epic. It was a fun place to go to see some the nostalgia in the "old-time" things hanging as the decor.
