It was my first time coming here yesterday and it was pretty freakinnnn good!!! They had a huge bbq selection with lots of high quality meat options with tasty marinades and seasoning. They also had a large range of vegetables and seafood!! (Shrimp, oysters, clams, etc). I personally love beef and would've given them four stars for their steak/beef options alone. The vibe of the restaurant is also really nice. They take your temperature when you walk in and they have outdoor seating in their backyard area. The tables are definitely socially distanced and the whole backyard area is kind of enclosed by the nearby apartment buildings, but in a nice way that blocks out the noise from the outside traffic and let's you have a more peaceful meal. The inside of the restaurant looks SUPER nice so I would definitely love to come back when it's safer. One point off because the sushi is pretty mediocre...... also the "blue crab" sandwich sounded really cool but it was just like a California roll (with only imitation crab) in the shape of a sandwich. It tasted fine but they should probably change the name of it. I would also stay away from the bbq corn, it's basically their take on Korean corn cheese but they put wayyy to much Mayo on it. Ate there a few times and each time is getting worse and worse. Food(meat) was just all fat and they would add extreme amounts of oil to the grill. For the price that it is, might be a bit high for some, but their quality of meat, seafood (razor clams/Argentina shrimp/scallops/oyster/squid) veggie(yam/corn/asparagus) selections are great. I've been to other place in Flushing( lower price) the pork belly had that smell that you know it's been sitting out for a long time. So to compare, i say this place is worth your money, don't be cheap for AYCE Bc then you can not complain about the lore quality in food. I went for the all you can eat and when I was seated staff are super friendly even chatted with our server to find out he was the owner son , small world his dad used to be a manager of a restaurant I went to as a child. Food is great and served quickly. Since it's a BBq place each table has a grill , but don't be discouraged if you're not into cooking the meat yourself the waiters and waitresses will cook it for you. The menu has a great abundance with poultry fish beef pork and veggies.They also have SUSHI!! They also have appetizers and snacks from fried calamari to fish pancake. Came here for lunch. When I entered, there was another party there already. I wanted to come after the menu was recently updated. There are more beef products as it is usual. I saw that on the menu there are items that are seen in Chinese skewers. There is Japanese pop music playing in the background. The place is next to the train station. I saw that the place uses smokeless grills with a fume pipe. The portion sizes are reasonable. This place is cheaper than going to Gyu-Kaku, but Gyu-Kaku is really authentic yakiniku. I also loved the appetizers that we had there, the seafood pancake being the best. The service is really fast and they are really attentive. They also have karaoke rooms...bbq + karaoke?! I'm sold. Other than AYCE bbq, theyre also an AYCE sushi restaurant. I didn't have any sushi and I don't know if I want to try it since their "specialty" are the meats. An AYCE japanese BBQ place sounds like a good idea but shokunin is poorly executed. They offer barbecue and sushi. First thing I noticed when I sat down was how dirty everything was. My plate was greasy and the glass of water they gave me had a glob of white stuff on the side. The seats had crumbs of meat left from previous customers. I asked for replacements no big deal. We ordered our meat (mostly beef) and takoyaki as an appetizer. When the meat came there was no explanation of which cuts were on each plate. Everything ended up tasting the same. It's like they brush the same sauce on every piece of meat. The menu explains how long to cook each meat. Everything was super chewy. I think the only things my boyfriend and I ended up liking were the razor clams. They offer two dips for your meat, a sweet soy and some spicy concoction. It made the flavor of the beef bearable. We also ordered veg, they swiped the same weird sauce from the meats on the vegetable. It kinda made the enoki mushrooms taste bad. The bbq corn was basically corn slathered in mayo topped with cheese, not a mayo person so I didn't even touch the corn. Nothing on the bbq menu was appealing anymore so we decided to try the sushi. We ordered very basic rolls, alaskan and spicy tuna/salmon. It was an even bigger disappointment. The salmon wasn't even salmon colored anymore. It was a grayish pink. At this point I regretted coming here, Mr.Q BBQ would've been a lot better and cheaper. Maybe it would be better if they focused on just bbq and not offer sushi. Don't come here if you're in a rush, I came as a party of 4 with an 8pm reservation and although the hostess said the table would be ready soon we didn't get seated until 8:40...luckily the food made up for it. The menu is expansive, the freshness is unquestionable and the premium items are really worth it. The servers come to your table and cook everything for you but if they get a little busy, they WILL forget about you and you'll be left to fend for yourselves so be prepared. This is probably my FAVORITE Japanese bbq in Brooklyn. The location are right next to the karaoke place so you can go for a feast right after hunger. I really wanted to like this place, I've heard mixed reviews in the past. Their backyard space was great, tables were spaced out and every table had a bottle of hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. The indoor space looked amazing and very spacious. (Closed during covid) They wipe down tables, and all servers seem to keep their masks on. For $35 (not including tips and tax) you get all you can eat bbq and sushi. Sashimi, drinks and some items are extra charge. Definitely skip the sushi! Not worth trying, the rice will just fill you up. The raw fish didn't taste fresh (I know this shouldn't be surprising) The cooked sushi was just mediocre at best. For bbq, they have a huge variety to choose from, lots different types of meats, they have veggie options and seafood as well. The meats were okay. They were played neatly and a lot of them looked marinated and garnished, but once cooked you couldn't taste that. So dip your bbq into the sauces provided. The oysters were far from fresh, you can tell it's the canned ones by the looks, a couple of them were very mushy and barely edible. Scallops were okay, not fresh, but not bad. Came here yesterday to take advantage of the outdoor dining they had available, the wait was about 20-25 minute with no reservation on a Saturday night. The cost per person for the all you can eat buffet is 35.95 which does not include any drinks, you would think for that price they would at least include soda or tea. The all you can eat buffet includes sushi, rolls and seafood and meat bbq, There's a large variety to chose from. Some of the highlights were the scallops and the cooked salmon teriyaki which was pretty good and the takoyaki wasn't the worst. However there were more misses than hits for me, the kani salad was all tempura flakes and probably two tiny shreds of kani in it, the salmon sushi (sashimi is not included in the ayce) the rice came out HOT which is not a good thing when it comes to sushi because it changes the temperature of the fish so my salmon was just hot raw salmon (disgusting), the miso eggplant was way two sweet thst it wasn't even edible, additionally our drinks took forever to come that we decided to cancel one of their juices and the staff said okay they would cancel and still charged us for it even though they never brought it to us. ‍ we didn't realize till we left. Service was adequate there was enoguh staff walking around to assist if you needed. I think including tax, tips and the soda/juice it came out to be about $50 per person. I would recommend their rolls over their sushi, any place that puts hot rice on raw salmon needs to reevaluate their sushi game. I thought the outdoor seating was nice, it wasn't too cramped and there isn't a lot of plants so there were little to no bugs, however I don't think I would crave to come back any time soon and i am not sure if it was worth $50.
