it's been over a week since i came in for lunch and i can't stop thinking about this spot. we were wandering bay ridge and wanting to try a place we had not stopped in before. i saw "uzbekistan" on the front and immediately hopped over the street to come in. was blown away by the beautiful decor as soon as we walked in. i'm obsessed with the veiled booths and choice in curtains. elevated the entire atmosphere and made our dining experience comfortable and classy. we ordered the egg salad dish with olives and steak in it (forgot the name) but oh my goodness what a concept. i have never craved an egg salad before until i had this one. i live out of state so i am desperately looking up recipes until i can return (with my entire family who needs to try this too). the manti was amazing and the lamb chops were cooked perfectly to be like lollipops. also love how the table has cayenne pepper, salt, and vinegar as the condiments. such a refreshing change. our server was so sweet. sometimes she would open her phone to translate what we said to make sure we understood each other. motivated me to want to learn some small talk in Russian. 10/10 will be back.

Food is great I love Uzbek food, service is good I mean it could be better we went for a friends birthday there was only one server but he was good overall ambiance was very quiet with some music from Uzbek culture I loved the strawberry homemade juice I wish you guys the best I love when there's a new halal business in the city

We ate here early last month. This is hands down THE best Uzbek restaurant I've tried so far! You've got to try their Plov--both the lamb and beef are superb! The service was great and I loved the ambiance too, especially with the cozy curtains around each table booth.

The decor inside looks very upscale. The prices of everything are reasonable. Food was very flavorful. There were a few things they do very well and some things that I didn't care for. To start, you get complimentary fresh hot bread, cucumbers, tomatoes and onions. You want to make a sandwich and add all the veggies plus salt and pepper. So good! The pepper on the table isn't black pepper, it's cayenne and I love that. If you are coming to an Uzbek restaurant Plov is an absolute must order, and they do it very well. I'm not too into rice dishes but I didn't leave a single grain on that plate. And the lamb shank you get, I was sucking the bone to get every ounce of meat. Absolutely fantastic. The fried lagman was also very good. Tender and spicy noodles with soft beef. We also got the lagman soup but there wasn't any noodles, even though the description said there would be. Otherwise, it was good. Nothing amazing but def comforting in a cold day. The last two items we ordered we did not really care for much. The manti is big beef dumplings with yogurt and the beef itself was too fatty and chewy for my liking, I wouldn't order it again. We also ordered the mini dumplings which was better than the manti but not much flavor. I wouldn't order the dumplings again. There was only one waiter for the whole restaurant and he did a good job being attentive to us. Overall I enjoyed trying this Uzbek place and worth trying this underrepresented cuisine!

The star of the show were the sides though - the mac and cheese had a bit of spice to it and was slightly tomato based, and the mashed potato salad I LITERALLY wrote home about and told my mom and my aunt immediately, some of the best I've ever had. We got the brisket, the pulled pork, mac and cheese, potato salad, and cole slaw.

From the entrance, we joined the line to place our order. Menus posted on the wall. Music playing. Bar area, self-serve water dispenser, utensils/napkins, to-go containers (which we did need) are in this area. One of two dining areas is in the same room. Longer tables, some communal, are in the next room, where we sat. Temp that day was in the 90s, was ok indoors but still could use ceiling fan/s like in the first room. Restrooms available. Meats are priced by 1/2 lb. Carved and weighed at the front counter. Ordered everything else and paid there too. Most of the food was prepped as we ordered so able to take a whole tray already. So be ready for a bit of wait on the line but not in getting the food. Got a number and someone brought our jerk rib tips, which were made-to-order. Our favorite was the brisket - very tender with some fatty parts. Pulled pork was slightly sweet, was ok. I wasn't into the Jerk rib tips' flavor by itself, but was better with ranch dressing it came with. Meats were not so salty which was great. Can add the bbq sauces if wanted. Fritos pie was just a small bag of chips with toppings and was overall a bit salty for me. At least we got to taste their chili. For sides: Large size is not that large but ok for sharing if getting a few sides. We liked the vinegary mashed potato salad and mac and cheese. My family found the collard greens bitter but I liked them. Honey cornbread $7/square was sweet on the top. Want to try other things on the menu so for next time. Take Bus 61 at Boerum Pl/Joralemon St. to Van Brundt St/Beard St stop (bus is accessible from a few subway lines).

My daughter checked it out but she didn't have socks to play so she stayed at the table with us. For appetizers, we ordered the dumplings (so cute and delicious), the pancakes and the pizza. The pizza was mediocre. For our entrees I had the shrimp avocado salad and my husband got the gosht burger. Our entrees were really tasty. We also got a side of fries for our daughter which we didn't really have to order. It is a little pricey but look at their location! When we got the bill we were charged $10 for the play place. I asked for it to be removed because my daughter didn't really play there and didn't have socks so our waitress removed it. It's not a big playground area and how long can kids really ply there if they're there for the restaurant? They charge $10 on weekday and $15 on weekends.

I tried went with the Gosht burger and Caesar salad with grilled chicken. I ordered the strawberry mojito for a beverage choice. It was sweet with alittle bit of strawberry taste. The burger was great though alittle small. I enjoyed it. The salad was fresh and the grilled chicken cutlets were soft. Overall, a decent meal. Definitely a nice place to patronize for a nice meal.

There are plentiful tables and even a downstairs special event space. Plus, the bathrooms are very clean so you know this is a quality place. Food: 5/5. Huge portions! You can easily feed two people with an entree. We had the Fahsah Chicken in a hot clay pot...so good! It had a plethora of spices and herbs but was not too spicy. And the shwarma was the best we have had in Brooklyn! Ambiance: 4/5. Clean and tidy, they have alot of Yemeni decorations and clay pots that add to the authentic vibe. The doors have a slight draft so it was a tad chilly but nothing too harsh. Overall a lovely spot Value: 5/5. Huge portions of quality food, great service and extra bread. We loved it!

The staff member who took my order warned me that it would be spicy, but I thought it was quite manageable (or perhaps she made it non-spicy) but overall I thought the flavor was quite bold and the bite-sized lamb made it easy to scoop up with the bread. The restaurant space is fairly large so I'd like to return for sit-down service and to try more Yemeni specialties.
