Pretty good basic sushi Came in on a Monday afternoon. Was dissuaded the first few times I tried to come here. Lines were long, waits were long, and didn't want to deal with the hassle. Now it was right after the weekend, so it wasn't very busy and easy enough to get a seat and some food. Got a good seat and immediately grabbed some bites off the conveyor while the missus put orders in on the tablet. The selection was minor but it was lunch so didn't expect much. When I rate sushi, I check for a few things. Toasted nori sheets, seasoned rice, clean knife cuts, tougher cuts are scored, and minor embellishments like searing, wasabi under the sushi, and seasoned soy sauce. Sushi is deceptively simple, but it's the minor tweaks that elevate a basic sushi dish to a delicious one. Shogun gets some of it right. The sushi is fresh and the rice is seasoned. They do sear some pieces and it gives a smoky char to the pieces they do it to. Nori is basic, soy is kikoman, wasabi paste reconstituted and pickled lotus is from a jar. Sushi is the stander fare: tuna, salmon, crab, and shrimp. But although their options are limited, they do show some care over their end product. Which is better than most of the other revolving sushi places I have been to. So I will give them the benefit of caring. It's fun for the gimmick, I would love to see the skewers they showed on their windows as an orderable item. They do have desserts (ice cream and cake) but you have to request it. It's not bad, and for all you can eat it's better than expected. Lunch prices at 25 per person is reasonable, and the staff are very friendly and respectful. Decent size AYCE conveyor belt sushi restaurant with friendly service and tasty food. In reading the first reviews, I wasn't sad to miss the growing pains when this restaurant first opened, and was happy to see that the belt had a steady flow of food on it the whole way through at 8pm on a Saturday. Ambiance is casual, fairly loud. There is no website, and the only way to get on the waiting list is to scan the QR code when you get there, but while they quoted us 40 minutes, it was only 20 before we were seated. One ding is that the entire slate of foods available are not in the tablet. If you see it on the belt, it won't be in the tablet, and vice versa. So if you get a roll one time but never again, you can't order one especially for you. Which becomes a salient point if you're there towards closing because they stopped putting new food on the conveyor at about the same time as final seating at 2045. Last call to order things from the tablet was 2100. Aside from that, everything we had was good quality, with the exception of the crab rangoons which were crispy but lacked filling and crab flavor. The rolls and sushi were not over ratioed with rice, the ingredients all looked and tasted fresh. The plates were a couple pieces of whatever, so easy to dial in on just how much you wanted to eat without wasting anything. I also ordered some miso soup and beef yaki udon. The miso soup was a little light on the flavor but not so much as to be worthless, and the yaki udon was cooked and sauced just right. Not too greasy, salty, or sweet. Is there better sushi out there, yes. But in the realm of conveyor belt sushi, I feel this is a great entry, and $38 for AYCE sushi is a steal of a price. read more

To be honest this is more about the experience and the fun factor than the food. The wait was over an hour and to be fair they had just opened and I was there with a party of 6 (there were only about 4 tables that could hold that big of a party) I expect this will get better over time once the initial hype dies down a little. Our waiting was very sweet. He kept checking up on us, answering questions, and bringing whatever we needed. The host stuff was also very kind and kept checking in during our wait to update us. The idea itself is super fun! The conveyor belts bring you all kinda of different pieces of sushi and appetizers. It was sometimes hard to identify what was on the belt. We had a very good experience here coming at dinner time on a weekday. The place got pretty packed starting at 5 PM, but we were able to get seated. The inside decor is really cool. They have shogun references everywhere. The food was pretty good actually. They have numerous appetizers on the menu and different sushi coming out on the conveyor. I like the portion sizes actually. Tried out Shogun with reservations for lunch yesterday with my daughter. There wasn't a long wait which was nice. We sat closer to the kitchen which is also a plus. My favorite part about this style of ayce sushi is that if you're hungry and in a rush, there is no shortage of yummy sushi to try and it just keeps on coming. I also really like how there are two rolls per plate. At ayce places where you have to write in your order, the smallest amount for rolls at a time is 6 which makes selections very deliberate as to not over order. Needless to say I tried some new concoctions but always with mango and always with spicy salmon as a personal preference. The ramen is watered down so I wouldn't suggest ordering that, the udon was ok. I wouldn't be back but it's a tiny bit pricey. Thanks shogun! read more

Really great all-you-can-eat experience! Decided to try out this new place and was pleasantly surprised. There likely will be a wait, especially at busier times, due to the newness of the place. However, my partner and I only waited about 30 minutes. The food was fresh and delicious, and orders came out quickly. The revolving sushi options were also great, and consistent. I was very pleased with portions as well--many AYCE places serve large or inconsistent portions making it difficult to gauge how much food you will want to order. Here, though, portions were small and consistent, meaning we could try lots of different things. Also, having the sushi revolving next to you while you eat was lots of fun. Excited to see what's to come. Soft opening was today, and I don't think they were entirely ready for it. Came earlier in the day to take advantage of the lunch prices and was told to come later due to no seating for two people available, but for 3+ there were. Came back at the time they re-opened and realized it was dinner prices now. For the price we paid, I don't think it was worth it. Although the interior is aesthetically pleasing, the actual service was a bit of a mess. There was no organization to be able to get a table. It was an honor system that no one cut you in the wait and if the host remembered you were waiting. Once seated, small amounts of a roll would come down the belt; this was more of an issue for those who sat further away from the kitchen, since they'd get nothing by the time the name plaques came to them. I was sat near the kitchen so I got to try everything, but the couple diagonal to me spent maybe the first 15 minutes with nothing reaching them, until they had to reach other to my side of the belt to get food. Every moment the waitress was reaching over us actively eating to grab the plates we had; not an issue either but maybe let a small pile form rather than collecting every single time possible. The food itself was very mid. We were very underwhelmed with the taste/quality of the rolls coming through. We tried a few times to order off the all you can eat menu and nothing ever came to us until we had to ask the waitress about we had ordered on their ipad system. Even with that, out of the 4 plates we ordered, only one ever showed up. No one explains the difference in plate colors or how they operate so it's a learning curve for everyone. Once seated, you need to find your waitress for any water or drinks you want. The most underwhelming part of it all, the ice cream at the end wasn't even good. My two friends and I went during the second weekend of the soft launch and had such a great time! The conveyor belt is so fun and there was so much sushi floating around the restaurant. The sushi comes with 2 pieces per plate and there was a great variety in roll options. The plates can be a little difficult to grab on their way by but once you get the hang of it, you're good to go. There is an iPad at the table for ordering any sushi rolls, ramen, appetizers, and much more and it either gets delivered by a waitress in a cart or by the tiny railroad track above the conveyor belt. We tried to go for a late lunch at 3pm, but we're told the dinner seating didn't start until 3:30pm. Even at 3pm on the second week it was open, we were fourth in line so I would advise getting there early if you can. The dinner was $37.99 per person, it did note on the menu that kids were 50% off, and I believe the lunch seating will be cheaper. The $37.99 is all you can eat from the conveyor belt, plus you could order anything off the tablet, but the beverages were an additional $3 because their soda machine didn't work yet. I don't see accurate hours listed online, but I'm sure they'll update those once the restaurant is fully launched. Went here with a couple of friends and honestly had a really good time! It's $37.99 per person buffet-style, plus you can order extras from a tablet at your table at no extra cost. Be warned though... it's a pretty popular spot right now and we had to wait for almost an hour. Thankfully they have a waitlist that texts you when your table's ready, so that you aren't just standing around waiting. Food was lovely, though the sushi variety was a bit lacking on our visit and edamame/dumplings kept coming when we were really hoping for more sushi. I'm sure that'll improve with time! The atmosphere was gorgeous. It feels like I just entered a restaurant in Japan! And the little robot that delivers your food is such a quirky fun touch. We have made two separate attempts to try the new revolving sushi spot. First visit was for lunch but were told at thw door that they arw only open for dinner, meanwhile their website clearly stated that they were open for lunch. Returned a couple of weeks later for lunch, after calling and confirming that they are indeed open, to arrive to a full dining area, with a long wait and when glancing at the conveyor belt, seeing it entire empty. It appears that there arw still some kinks being worked out in the functionality of the restaurant. We were instucted to check in via code to put ourselves in a queue and offered popcorn while we wait. Everything looked very basic, hardly any specialty rolls. The sushi was ok and then I tried one of the cooked deep fried rolls, the monster roll, I've had it before at other places...it was cold, it was gross. And then I realized that it's because it's been sitting on this belt for awhile. After that we ordered some plates and I watched the same sushi go by me for an hour waiting for new ones and nothing. There were more empty spots than sushi. Some of the avocado ones were turning brown. Just so disappointed and so grossed out. I ended up just grabbing another one and had to spit it out (1 dollar charge if you leave uneaten food on the table). Got a stomach ache later that night. The food tasted like it was from a grocery store and didn't even have any sort of sauce to choose from other than soy so it was very boring very fast. There was a period of time where the only food on the belt was oranges!!
