My wife needed new heels put on her specially made shoes, so I went online and searched for a top notch shoe repair store near our zip code (21113 - The Piney Orchard Development), Odenton, Maryland. That is how we found Mr. Coleman Eldridge's Shoe Specialist business in Severna Park, Maryland. In checking the reviews of his business, we saw that it is highly rated. When we took my wife's shoes to the Shoe Specialist, we found Mr. Eldridge to be very friendly, customer focused, professional and efficient. He gave us the price for doing the shoe repair, which was quite reasonable, as well as when the shoes would be ready to be picked up. True to his word, the shoes were ready on the day he said they would be ready for pickup. My wife was very pleased with the work he did on her specially made shoes. As a result, we are now repeat and very satisfied customers at Mr. Eldridge's Shoe Specialist business. As a side note; during my first visit to Mr. Eldridge's business, I discovered during our initial conversation that I knew his relatives. My memory of them before I joined the US Air Force and made it a career, was of a family that was very caring and willing to help others. Mr. Eldridge still displays those same traits today, which is why his business is so successful. read more

High-quality service and skill. I thought $20 for a shoe shine was a bit high but that's actually pretty much market value for the region.

A good old fashioned shoe repair shop! Not only do they do great work at reasonable prices, but they have all the accessories you need: shoe polish and creams, brushes, etc. read more

Great service. Brought 3 pair of heels for lift replacement. Turnaround was quick, service was friendly. We definitely be back.

I brought a men's leather belt and a pair of my shoes that were pointy at the tips. He cut some of the belt off at buckle and put new holes in. My husband said it looks brand new. And fits great now. My leather shoes were so worn & scuffed at the tips But not any more. They look like I just bought them. Will definitely return read more

I am so thankful that I found Shoe Specialist. I had a pair of Frye boots that I wore through the soles, but I don't trust my boots with just anyone. I hadn't found a good shoe repair place since we moved to Maryland, and I liked everything other Yelpers said about the owner's history, friendliness, and, most importantly, skill. I loved everything about my experience here. When I dropped off the shoes, the owner was efficient and warm, clearly explaining what he could do, the costs, his policies, etc. An elderly couple was making copies, and there was something nice about it. When I came to pick the boots up, a lady was wrapping a Christmas gift on the bench (in some super amazing green sparkly paper). Turns out, she was the owner's daughter, helping him out by wrapping a gift. It made the shop seem like more than just a shop. It felt like part of a community. When Coleman brought my boots over, they looked brand-new. He replaced my worn-out sole with one of equal (or, if I'm being honest, better) quality, fixed the liner, and polished them so that they look even better than they did when they were new. I am so thrilled that I found this shop. The work was impeccable, and I felt really good about doing business with someone who clearly cares about his work and the people he works with. read more

Great Service. Great Quality. Great Person. Always an absolute pleasure working with Coleman.

My family and I have been taking our shoes to Mr. Eldridge for probably 20 years. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Saved my brand new Clark's sandals that my new puppy got a hold of and chewed thru a strap. Quick and reasonably priced.

I have been looking for a place to get my shoes repaired now that my local place closed. Gentlemen who worked there was very nice and fixed my heels perfectly. Price was reasonable and got them back quickly. A real gem! read more

Best service anywhere! He can do anything with leather not just shoes and at a reasonable cost too. Nicest people in town too read more

My parents used to own a dry cleaners (where I worked, when I was younger). They used this service for their shoe repair. Mr. Coleman always did a wonderful job, and he is such a sweet man. We saw hundreds of shoe that he repaired - putting on new heels, shining up old shoes - and never had a complaint. I am not discounting the experience of the person who left a one star review, but wanted to say that I saw hundreds of shoes come in and go out our door, that Mr. Coleman fixed. Never had an issue. The shoes always looked great. read more

Took a pair of men's loafers in there recently. Guy polished them up and made some minor repairs. He fixed them up nice. Price was reasonable. I'd recommend for future repairs. You know what they say - whatever you do take care of your shoes! read more

My favorite heels were fixed quickly and look good as new. I highly recommend this place.

I had a pair of expensive, barely worn shoes in which the soles dry-rotted over time. I took them here to see if there was any hope for them but there was not. The owner was very kind and honest saying that they could not be fixed. I appreciate businesses being upfront on what can and cannot be repaired. If I am ever in need of shoe repair again I will return. read more

I'm disappointed that this is the review that i have to leave considering i've been here a couple times and the owner always seemed so nice and the work done was ok, but today was the final straw. Like i said the work has always been ok to me but when i picked up a couple pairs of boots yesterday from haveing the heels replaced both pairs of my boots had been damaged. One pair was a cheaper pair, and i didn't care too too much because i know things happen. But i had another pair which were of very good quality and when i got them back one of the boots was completely scratched up, and all wrinkled and ruined the leather. When i brought it to the owners attention, i couldn't even get a word in edge wise. He was very condescending and defensive and said it was done from wear. I did not drop them off like this and how would only 1 boot get this way if it was from wear? And why would i pay to have heels replaced on boots that look like this? All he could keep saying is he's been in business 48 years and he's a christian man and laughing and being condescending. I wasn't asking for my money back. It just would have been nice if he could have tried to show some kind of effort and see if he could do something with the damage he did. How would 1 boot be like that? He just kept arguing which makes me feel he knows he was wrong, being defensive before i could even speak. If he's been in business so long, by now he should have better customer service skills. I don't feel the customer is always right, but i know these were damaged at his business. He was acting like just because they weren't some high fashion over the top brand that he didn't have to show me respect. Well, to some people 130$ boots are alot, me included..but its a matter of respect of peoples property and righting the situation. read more
