When I entered this store on March 26, 2026, for services rendered, I was told that I would have to pay in full ($40.00) repair fee before I could have my shoes resoled and it would take a week to repair. I paid the requested shoe repair payment with my American Express card. When I returned to pick up my shoes on April 4, 2026, I forgot that I had prepaid the $40.00 requested repair fee to the owner and paid another $40.00 in cash at the time to picked up my shoes. I wasn't given a payment receipt at the time for the second payment. When I returned home, I remembered that I had already paid for the shoe repair services via American Express as requested a week before the shoes where resoled. I immediately returned to the store. Before I could enter the store, he saw me before I could open the door and locked it. It was near closing time. It was the weekend, so I returned on Tuesday April 2, 2026, with my shoes in my hands and told second him of my repair payment for services rendered. He wouldn't repay me the $40.00 and asked me for receipt that he didn't give me. Lesson learned: Always pay with a credit card and get a receipt. This store is not worthy of your business. Pass the word.

I was disappointed when the shoe repair spot at Langston Boulevard and George Mason closed a few years ago, so I'm incredibly happy that Golden Shoe is still around and going strong. I recently brought in a few pair of older Clarks. They are my favorite comfortable work dress shoes, but they had reached a point where they weren't quite right for business anymore. However, they still had plenty of life left in them. I took them to Golden Shoe for a full shine and restoration, and the results are fantastic. Over the…read morelast four months I have had three separate leather items repaired, cleaned and re-stiched/seamed. I had a leather jacket and two purses repaired. Bar none, the repairs were the best I have ever had done anywhere! The quality was outstanding! Their attention to detail is not something I see anymore. On all three repairs they found extra items that needed TLC and did them without extra charges. The staff is always friendly too. I would rate them 4 & 1/2 stars on their workmanship if I could. I would give Casmera 5 stars if they were not so in demand and took longer than expected for all the jobs. That is a great problem to have. Also, striving toward better communication with their customers about the repairs would definitely give them five stars. Don't go anywhere else. Go to Casmera. They were out of the way for me, but so worth it!
