I dropped the shoes off on Monday and they were promised to me by Friday. The repair was for my high heel shoes that needed a replacement heel cap as they were old and needed to be refreshed. The repair was super reasonable and affordable. It was 20 bucks. The gentleman that took my shoes for repair didn't seem all too friendly but he definitely made me feel like my shoes would be repaired correctly. Show repair is so old school. So if you want it, you gotta look. This tiny place is something you may not see unless looking. Very friendly and professional small team. The work done to replace heels on two dress shoes was excellent. The service I requested was done quickly and I actually was the problem with a delayed pick up ha. Value is the eternal question. To fix or buy new? That is the question!!! For me two men's dress shoes replacement heels and cleaning was about $80 ($40 a piece). I took 2 leather bags to Eugene's for repair. One the shoulder strap was torn and the other the zipper needed repair. The leather used on the shoulder strap repair looks terrible and the zipper that was used to replace the broken one didn't line up with teeth wise. He took the bag back to try to repair it and it still was messed up. I asked if he could lower the price because the work was POOR to say the least and he took $10 off. The bag with the zipper can not be used and the big black patch on the blue bag is an eye sore. read more

I found this place on Yelp. I brought in a pair of boots I bought and were a little snug to be stretched. I came into the shop to ask about the boots and he advised me he can stretch the boots and advised the price, which was very reasonable. There was a section where you can purchase shoes left behind. I saw one great pair of platform suede shoes, but they were not my size...bummer. Before I left, the clerk advised he will call/text me when my shoes are ready and gave me my ticket. He offers several items for shoes, like shoe horns, shoe stretchers, laces and more. Also he cuts keys and sells key accessories and more. I bought a pair of tan suede boots but found them to be too dull for my liking. On a whim, I decided to come here to see what could be done to salvage this purchase. Eugene wasn't sure if he could make them my desired color, red, since he never had attempted it. I was willing to experiment and he proceeded to knock it out of the park. In a little over a week, I returned to pick up a pair of boots that pleased me to no end. I brought a pair of chukka boots to get resoled that I had resoled here about 1 year ago. The first time around the midsole tore pretty quickly and I walked around in wet feet, but I did it because I love these shoes. I also walk a lot so I thought maybe I just wear shoes out pretty quickly, so I decided to come back again. When I picked them up from the store this time, they looked great. Nice brown shine on them. The midsole had a few gaps, but they seemed pretty solid. The owner commented that whoever had repaired them previously hadn't replaced the midsole for me, so he did that this time around. I chuckled to myself as he was the one who hadnt replaced the midsole before. When I got home and tried them on, I realized that they were reduced in size to the point I couldn't comfortably fit in them anymore. Now I normally buy shoes about half inch larger than I need because I like the room, and now I had to scrunch my toes to fit in the shoes. It seems logical to me that shoes may shrink in the repair process, but if there were issues with the repair to the point that more than half an inch was lost I wouldve expected this to be brought up during pick up/payment. Poor waste of $85.00 if you ask me. I'll never waste my time or money here again. read more

I recently brought a pair of very worn out boots to Eugene's to have the sole and welt replaced, he was upfront about work that needed to be done, cost and time frame. He even brought out the welt and sole he would be using to make sure I was ok with it since it wouldn't look like the original( all black boot that had a black sole from a previous repair) My boots were done in two days--and I was notified via text when they were ready to be picked up--and they look perfect ! I've taken my shoes to other local shops and they've taken WEEKS for poor repairs, very happy I brought my boots to Eugene's and I will be using them from here on out! I have brought my shoes here many times and was satisfied with the work. Unfortunately about a week ago I brought two pairs of shoes in to him. The black pair was supposed to have a heel fixed and be polished. The second pair was a natural color and was only supposed to be polished. He gave me a total that was written on a ticket. When I went to pick up the shoes on last Friday I had prewritten the check amount based on the total he gave me when I dropped them off. He gave me the shoes and I looked at them. The natural colored pair looked as if nothing had been done to them. He said nothing about not working on them so I mentioned that they didn't look polished. He said he didn't have the polish color to fix them. I said ok and handed him the check forgetting to correct the payment amount. Of course he didn't mention the incorrect payment amount. On Monday I realized that I overpaid him but they were already closed. So early Tuesday morning (only about 2 business days passed at this point) I called and explained the situation asking if I could just bring in another pair of shoes since I overpaid and then we could call it even. At first he acted as if he had no idea who I was and said he had 100s of customers. Odd response since I'm sure that 100 customers hadn't just been there and written a check only a few days before. Then he remembered who I was and said he cleaned and glued something on the shoe. When he couldn't provide the service I requested he should not have done anything to the shoes. In addition I could not see where anything was done to the shoes. He claimed that the amount I paid was the correct amount for the shoes although I had submitted to him the ticket showing that that price had been quoted with polishing. Although it is my fault that I overpaid, I find it to be very poor customer service that he would suggest I was lying and not simply make the situation right by giving me my change (money) or polishing a different pair of shoes. Although he does good work, I don't plan to bring my shoes here again. I also have witnessed him talking rudely to another customer in the past so I should have taken that as a sign of his regard for customer service. read more

I have taken numerous pairs of shoes, boots, and heels to be repaired here over the years, and I would never go anywhere else. I am extremely picky about my shoes, and when I find a good quality pair I love, I wear them into the ground and get them repaired over and over again. The man who works in the store (I am assuming that he is Eugene, but I'm not sure), clearly treats his work like an artform. He uses the best materials for the repairs, and has never used overly thick and distasteful rubber soles and heels on my shoes like I've seen other cobblers do to my friends. He must be from somewhere in Europe because of his accent and the aesthetic sensibility he brings to shoe repair. Cash or check only, deposit due up front. This is the only place I have my shoes repaired. One of the last repairs the I had done was on a pair of over the knee boots that I couldn't pull up over my calfs. The boots were never worn, so when Eugene cut them down the seam, I nearly fainted LOL. He put in an elastic panel that made it possible to expand as needed. Great thing is, you cannot tell that the boots weren't made that way. I love his work, and trust only him with my shoes. read more
