Did ok, I had some boots stretched. I didnt feel much of a difference. What I didn't like is I dropped them off with 50 dollar wooden shoe trees. When I got my boots back the trees weren't with them. I asked them and he said I didn't drop them off. Then after looking around the shop for 30 seconds he's like Nope I dont have them. I saw them sticking out of a huge pile and pointed to them. If I didn't see them I doubt I would of gotten them back. read more

Took a pair of Allen Edmonds shoes in to have a thicker sole added instead of the flimsy factory soles. Owner had a nice set of vibram soles for replacement. Replacement exceeded my expectations and will return for future services. read more

I had a terrible experience. Brought in two pairs of shoes to be resoled - they both had flat (no heels) rubber soles: one pair hiking shoes, the other a pair of Born bowling shoes. In both cases, the soles were so worn that they were slippery to walk in. I was charged $77 for each pair. I received back two pairs of shoes with the kinds of soles you'd put on dress shoes and flat heels added. In colors that did not match the color of the leather uppers, which they had originally. They were both ruined - ugly and impossible to use for the purpose intended. And too late to do anything about it. I strongly recommend not using this shop. read more

I had booties who's heels have long expired. I love these shoes and wanted to wear them the same evening. I called in the AM to request a repair. I have Ben looking for a good local cobbler for a while because Baltimore streets eat high heels for breakfast! I brought 6 pairs of stiletto boots and 2 pairs of pumps, all pretty high end and in need of heel taps, heel repair, full and / or half soles and a good polish. I went over each shoe with the gentleman very clearly walking through the repairs needed. He seemed competent and could identify issues on sight. What I got back was a different story. 1. Three pairs taps replaced with different sizes, one obviously too large. 2. Two pairs, same tap issue and instead of repairing heel damage it was colored in to marker (?). 3. One pair same as two, suede not brushed / cleaned and scratched up terribly. 4. My favorite pair of beige leather heels needed full wood sole repair and taps. He instead glued a black plastic half sole that completely changes the shoe and will cost a ton to correct (if that's possible, TBD). 5. One pair on patent leather heels got a full resole in appropriate color and correctly sized taps, very well done overall. None of the shoes were cleaned or polished. When I raised the issues he was unwilling to engage in any way and dismissive and rude. I had no real choice but to pay and leave. Heads up, you also need cash and a proper credit card (not electronic) here. No big deal, but worth knowing. All cost $220 and 5 days, but will likely cost double to fix the damage done. read more

Found this repair shop on my way to the grocery store and really liked how their customer service and quality of work. I brought in a pair of leather chukkas and 1 boot to be fixed. The sole on the chukkas has started to come off all around both shoes abd the boot's heel pull tab had broken (see pictures). The repair took 2 days and all shoes were ready to go when I came to get them. Prices seemed fair to me, however I haven't been to another cobbler to compare. I will be coming back if needed and definitely recommend this to you if you're looking for a repair. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised by the good work Canton Shoe Repair did on three pairs of shoes. Two pairs of boots needed heels. He not only repaired them beautifully, he made the suede booties look even better than new. I also took in a pair of espadrilles that I love. The sole was coming off. He found a solution that retained the integrity of the design while making them functional again. Admittedly, he is a bit pricey. My surprise was because I had read a yelp review for a place much farther away. I tried them and was pretty disappointed in the quality of their work given the rave reviews that other place was given. I call this location and asked if he could clean ugg boot he advised me that he was able to clean my boots. He did an absolute horrible job, when I advised him that my boot were not clear he just took a brush and attempted to do a quick wipe off. You tell he just spot wiped the boot and made the look worst then they did when I took them to him. read more

I don't like writing negative reviews but I had such a bad experience at Canton Shoe Repair that I felt it was important to share. I brought my backpack in to repair one of its zippers and a seam that had come unstitched. The man at the counter assured me that he would be able to fix the backpack. The repairs took nearly a week to complete, which I felt was a long time. When I picked up my backpack, I was appalled by the work he had done. The zipper, which had warped teeth that prevented it from zipping cleanly, had been "stabilized" by a few stitches sewn into it. These stitches did not work to stabilize the zipper and fell out within 2 days of the repair. The seams had been sewn but with such sloppiness that it made me laugh. Instead of a straight line of stitching, he had stitched a meandering line full of knots (see attached photo, in which the right side has the original stitching and the left side has the repairs). I thought about returning to have the sloppy and ineffective repairs redone, but I'd honestly rather take my backpack elsewhere than risk further damage at Canton Shoe Repair. read more

My boots look better than how I initially bought them! I almost threw my shoes away until I stumbled upon this gem, and met Opa. He is very kind and great at his job. I brought two pairs of nice leather boots here, including a 10-year-old pair of Coach boots. The heel had fallen off and I had several holes on the base of the foot. Both look better than new! This guy is a lifesaver! I'm in town for a conference and yesterday the lift came off the only pair of shoes I brought with me. The noise of the metal hitting the floor was driving me mad, and I don't need any help being clumsy and slipping around. This guy was open and able to help me while I waited. This is a great family-owned shoe repair shop that does excellent work, with reasonable prices and wonderful customer service. My husband and I have had over a dozen shoes repaired here recently, including heel, full-sole, and half-sole replacements. Notably, my husband had the soles of his 10+ year old Doc Martens replaced, and I had half-soles put on two pairs of Louboutins; he did an amazing job on all these. We have been looking for a shoe repair shop in the Baltimore area for several years with mixed reviews at a few places, until we went to Canton Shoe Repair. Brought two dingy pairs of heels here where the heel had worn through. He not only fixed the heels but also filled in all scuff marks! They look good as new and for $10 each, saved me from having to purchase new work heels. I also brought in my boyfriend's dress shoes that had been damaged in an outdoor wedding.
