Classic shoe repair. Very reasonable cost to reattach the footbed to the sole in my Birkenstocks. He wasn't sure it would hold but the cost was very fair so I decided to try. Came out great and seems to be holding! I'll definitely go back if I need any other cobbling. They also had a nice selection of shoes for sale. read more

This review is not so much about the quality of work they did on my shoe but rather the overpriced work they did on my shoe. For over 50 years I have had to wear a 3/4" lift on one of my shoe due to polio. So I am well familiar of the price range it costs to put this size of lift on my shoe. When they quoted me the price, I wanted to walk out on them but decided against it because I was already there and I am new to Baltimore. They knew how much other shoe repair charged and their argument for adding an additional $50 to the $100 that other places charge was their quality of work was better. No, their quality of work was not better and there is nothing special that they did that justify the 50% mark up. It was equal to other places I have gone to across the US. Their service wasn't better either as I have had quicker and just as good quality of work as they did. Dan Brothers are a rip off! They should provide fair pricing. read more

I left my dress shoes at home. So I needed a pair of size 15 black dress shoes a few hours before I was to lead a memorial service at church. They had just what I needed and at an affordable price. The service was great. I;ll be back next time I am visiting family in Baltimore. read more

Met the owner and his son. They were very nice and friendly. They helped my father get some winter boots and a winter coat. I also purchased a pair of black on black Clark shoes. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I had a pair of leather boots resoled after wearing the heel down very badly. Dan Brothers performed some serious magic, and now my boots look better than new! Not only did they fix the heels, they also cleaned the shearling and conditioned the leather. I could not believe how gorgeous my boots looked, and for such a small fee! Trust Dan Brothers with your shoes and they will impress you! read more

Have had several pairs repaired here. Always great work, always kind, always on time. Highly recommend.

I took tall boots, short boots, pumps and flats to them (and do so annually. I am hard on heels, so I go through shoes quickly. Tired of throwing out hundreds to replace shoes that still look otherwise okay, a few years ago, I found Dan Brothers. This shop is now my once a year maintenance stop. My shoes go in looking like they need to be thrown out, worn down heel, leather ripped on the boot heels, all scuffed. They come back a few days later looking brand new. Heels replaced, scuffs gone, leather cleaned and polished. I also feel good about putting less stuff in the dump and I get to support a local business. Win, win, win. read more

If I could give this store 8 stars I would. Had a pair of very special (& extremely old) cowboy boots that I took to Dan Brothers on Wednesday 10/23/2019. I'm wearing them for my wedding in December and they needed some serious TLC. I was nicely greeted by both Sanjeev, Selvin, and Louie immediately upon walking in They did an entire resole-ing of both boots, polished and redid the heels and stitching... in less than 24 hours. They sent me a text that my boots were ready to go less than 20 hours after I dropped them off. Great pricing too. The craftsmanship was genuinely second to none. See attached photos, they will make my mother (who bought me the boots, cry when she sees them she'll be so happy. Also, Selvin kept the shop open late just so I'd be able to pick them up on a Thursday when he easily could've closed the shop upon me calling, saying I was running late. A+ service across the board. If you take your shoes/boots anywhere else to be repaired, you've chosen incorrectly! Thank you guys, sincerely! read more

Great business! They really take their care with your shoes and don't overcharge. I've gotten heel bottoms fixed on some leather heels and most recently took in some leather flats that were superrr scuffed up on the back. They gave me 2 options of how they could fix them and told me the two different prices. I appreciated they gave me an option! The turn around is quick and my shoes were always ready by the day they said they'd be & looking good as new! read more

Dan restored the straps and interior leather of a YSL handbag that had sentimental value. He took his time to listen to why I wanted to restore the hang bag and brought it back to life in less than a few days. The bag interior had split leather and the straps were completely broken. He brought my purse back to life and made it like brand new!!!! Highly recommend - such excellent customer service. read more

My coworker recommended this shoe store and I brought in a pair of pink suede boots that had gotten greasy black stains on the heel from accidentally touching the DC metro escalators. I wasn't expecting much because the stain had happened months ago, but I asked them to do their best and was willing to give it a shot for $20. I got the shoes back today and they are pristine. They also reduced considerably the blue stains around the top of the boot from my blue jeans. The shoes are beautiful and I am extremely happy with the work they did. I highly recommend Dan Brothers for shoe repair and cleaning. read more

I called in advance to see if they could fix my shoes while I wait ... I was in and out within 5 min and a great price!

This store is not what it used to be- I asked for a broken zipper to be repaired on a leather bag. It looks like the person who attempted repair had been drinking. The stitches are nowhere near straight. I'm so sad about my bag. :-( read more

I've never been to a shoe cobbler before, but I finally hunted one down to fix a favorite pair of heels that I wore down to the metal about five years ago. Even after five years, I couldn't toss them. I took them, plus two other pairs, to Dan Brothers, and they fixed them all up perfectly. It was like getting a brand-new version of my favorite-ever pair of heels. The staff here is very friendly, and the work is high-quality, affordable and fast. Even if you don't need to buy shoes or have old pairs fixed, the adorable weimaraner that lives here is reason enough to stop by. read more

Once again...Dan Brothers Shoes to the rescue! I purchased a great pair of brown leather boots from Nordstrom Rack online. I absolutely loved them...but about 2 weeks into regular wear, the soles started to separate from the leather upper of the boots (on both feet). Needless to say, I was pretty bummed. I biked my boots over to Dan Brothers Shoes, and within 48 hours, not only had they repaired the dried glue - they went above and beyond my expectations and actually stitched the soles to the leather - thereby adding presumable years to the life of this pair. The total cost was only $25. I was impressed by the professionalism, speed and quality of work and very pleased with the price. read more

I came to them before a big trip, they fixed my designer shoes. shined them up nicely all in one day! , i love them!!

I personally enjoy wearing Italian hand made shoes for the craftsmanship and comfort. I don't mind spending over $500 for a pair that will last over 20 years. When it's time to have my shoes reconditioned I'm very concerned about the skill sets of the repair shops. Today's mission was to locate the best repair shoe shop in Baltimore for my favorite pair of Prada's. I recommend this shop due to their customer service, knowledge and shoe tooling to accommodate custom repairs. I have my favorite shops in NY and LA, I'm adding this location to the list. If you love your shoes and don't want any problems protecting your fashion investments checkout my new Baltimore recommendation if you're in the DMV. read more

Listen, I walked in on a busy Saturday evening with tears in both soles of my boots. It was pouring and they were busy. They resoled the boot and added on a polish free of charge. Yesterday I busted one of my old flip flops while at work in Federal Hill and needed to do a fair amount of walking, so I needed a replacement asap. I was a bit skeptical about Dan Brothers because their website was down with a GoDaddy placeholder up in its place. However, once I arrived, I was pleasantly surprised by their selection of shoes (including a range of nice quality flip flops) as well as their customer service. They offered to repair my old beat up flip flop, but I decided to get new ones instead. They quickly helped me find a pair that I liked and got me fitted with the right size, and then threw on a discount below the listed price just to make sure I was happy. I couldn't really have been any happier with my trip to Dan Brothers. read more

Dan Brothers is one of the few full-service shoe stores around. Normally, as a guy, you don't think that's important. But trust me, having someone help you find what you're looking for, getting the size you need, and making sure you're happy with your purchase is actually a good thing. If you're used to trundling around the men's side of DSW and digging through boxes, treat yourself to a visit to Dan Brothers. I seem to have two modes of shoes: dress, and very casual. Any time I aim for the middle ground, I end up with either something that looks like a utility boot or an Oxford with a rubber sole. So, basically I went in and after a few minutes to get oriented, picked up a brown buck Docksider, and said "I want something about this level of casual, but not a boat shoe, and a slip-on." After a couple options that looked good turning out not to fit in the sizes in stock, I was about ready to call it quits when the salesman pointed out a full-grain leather Venetian slip-on in chocolate brown. They looked good, fit great, and even though I wasn't in the market to pay Johnston & Murphy prices for a pair of casual shoes, they knocked some off the price since they didn't have the others in my size. Damned things are the most comfortable shoes I own, now. Dan Bros. also has the largest selection of stylish big men's shoes I've seen in one place. If you're a size 14 or up, this is your shop. While you're shopping, say hi to Ziggy the Weimaraner. Hey, they've got a store dog - how can you not like the place? read more

Rendered fast, efficient service! My shoes look good as new. They were also incredibly kind.

I brought a pair of suede & leather Anthro heels in for their seasonal cleaning & repair. They sloppily cemented the strap and had to repunch the holes (this was after I had left, realized the shoe was unusable & came back in to request the fix). They cleaned the suede but didn't touch the leather or even wipe down the heel. Bare minimum service for over $20. I'll look elsewhere next time I need my shoes worked on. read more

Dan Brother's Shoes is a must visit for anyone looking to have their leather dress shoes fixed/repaired and/or cleaned, but this shop offers a lot more than just that. They offer a wide selection of men and women's shoes including very high-end Italian brands, belts, socks, and other fashion accessories all for reasonable and negotiable prices. At the end of the day, they are all about customer satisfaction and will do what they have to in order to suit your needs. I've personally had about four pairs of shoes repaired here, bought two pairs of Italian leather shoes, and purchased a variety of dress socks. This store is awesome and you'll never want to hit up Men's Wearhouse or Jos A. Bank for the aforementioned items ever again after experiencing this local shop that actually takes pride in their customers. read more

I dropped off a pair of boots yesterday, and they were ready to pick up in less than 24 hours. I had worn these boots down pretty bad--holes in the soles, scuff marks, the leather looked rough. My birkenstocks have seen a lotta love and needed some desperate heel repair on the sole. Dan Brother's made in a cinch! My grandmother's cowboy boots fell apart (soles came completely off), with so much love (wear and tear). Bass brand, genuine leather. I knew of this guy in Fed Hill and after traveling for my job for two years, made it a point to take him these boots when I was back in the area. Didn't know how good he would be, but I don't know of many shoe repair places. The boots could have been from Walmart for all I care, they were my grandmother's, and I wanted them fixed and to be able to wear them. I walked in, and there were a ton of cowboy boots in the store and also shoes that appeared to be genuine leather. I felt good about dropping them off, even in the shape they were in, and I made it a point to tell him that they were my grandmother's. I trusted him and paid what he asked...because I was willing to pay $75 for a good repair. They were done in less than a week; and I was nervous to see them, hoping and praying they would be the same boot, but better. They came out polished, new soles intact. I waited a little before writing a review, because I wanted to put them through the ringer to see how they held up. I've worn them once so far. They are tighter than they were, but I'm hoping they loosen up after some more wear. I am also only a little skeptical to see how well the soles stick on there, because you can see (with close inspection), that they are not made particularly for that boot. I am very happy with them right now, and I will update the review if for any reason that changes. Thank you for acknowledging that these were a treasure to me by the way that you treated and repaired them!! read more

I went to take my shoes to Bill Graves Shoe Repair but there was a sign on the door saying that they moved locations to Dan Brothers. It's on the same block, so I trusted the sign and took my shoes to Dan Brothers. I needed to get 3 shoes waxed and 1 heel replaced although I was convinced to replace the heel on a second pair. The man who was helping me attempted to up-sell many other services, including replacing the sole. He may be right, I'm not saying he wasn't. But he brought out samples and showed me a finished product and it was all a little much. I just want to drop my shoes and be done with it. I believe it cost $25 for a heel replacement (which includes cleaning/waxing) and $6 for just cleaning/waxing. This was a little more than I was expecting. I only had a heel replaced once before up in Boston 2 years prior and the guy only charged me $10. That being said, the service was exceptional. The replacement heel was seamless, and the shoes shined brilliantly. read more

Thrilled with the repair, clean, and polish results. Took three pairs ranging from one month old to 3 years old. The old pair was pretty scuffed and distressed, and came back looking brand new!
